not too long ago i was asked to be lead vocals a hardcore metal band. that got me thinking, anyone else here in a band? i do vocals, screaming and all that, but idk if anyone else here is in a band. if so, tell what you do and if you have like a website/ myspace, post it here.

i'm not in a band but a couple of my friends and i get together a couple times a week and do acoustic improv on guitar, bass and piano. basically one of us will start a song and the others join in with a harmony that they think up. it is a lot of fun and really makes you think 3 or 4 steps ahead of what you are doing.

my band doesnt really have a name, so if you could give me a good name, that'd be nice. i was thinking chuck norris.

twilight, echoes of oblivion (that actually would be an awesome name), Rebel Faction (sounds kind of punkish but it could work for metal).

metal names are really easy to come up with, just think medieval or apocalyptic.

I used to be in a Band called A.COT.B in which I was Bassist, then we reformed into Capricious Youth and I became the Singer, then I left, after many reformations in which only one member of the band remained (Drummer) I believe they are called "Now there is only carnage".

Greatest band name I've ever heard is "My dad is bigger than you're dad"

Also you want band names for a Hardcore Metal Band? Chuck Norris isn't going to cut it.

my #1 choice is omerta like the lamb of god song, but since i have the oppurtunity to play with them, i might have to think up a better name

I drum a bit myself. Nothing too fancy, mostly ranging from classic rock to progressive. I like a fair bit of metal, but nothing I would care to drum to (save a few choice songs).

I play guitar, but in my band, I do all the bass riffs on my fender strat. I have a bass amp, so it sounds like a bass. Since my band is relatively new, we don't have a name yet.

I play base for a blues. Have done for about 3 months.

I also write songs. We did a cover of shotgun blues from the blues brothers about a month ago. :p

there arent enough 80s hardcore fans on smogon, im glad gts is one of them

barring doing a few acoustic covers of lawrence arms songs for a coffee house, i cant say ive done much : (

I was in a band called "High Time for a Hero" in which I played Bass and did some of the vox, nothing too special though. Looking for a new band at the moment...

i play percussion for various gigs/people and am highly involved with my school but am in no set band.

drumming is the best

All of those who said trombones are cool:HIGH FIVE!

I've been asked to play trombone for a ska band; we had one rehearsal and then broke up. I was in a band as backup guitarist if need be, but again, we lacked practice. The same guy who was organising both bands asked me recently to play at his big show thing (which, again, needs to be organized), but only me and my bro are thinking of a two man show, with my friend singing (possibly).

Ah yes, my bassist friend and his band play for a 9:30 show down in D.C. They're pretty good, but the songs they play are easy to learn. Nonetheless it sounds good. Their success encouraged me to take guitar lessons recently too. Plus I'm registered for a beginning percussion class next year; I can't deny the drums any longer. They're just too cool.

Good to know there's a lotta starting bands out here on Smogon :happybrain:
