Kyogre and Necrozma-Dusk-Mane make for a solid physically defensive core but are extremely vulnerable against powerful special attackers. To this core, the most threatening special attackers are Kyogre, Xerneas, Eternatus, and Yveltal. Ferrothorn fits perfectly on this team as it is one of the most reliable checks to Kyogre, improves the Xerneas matchup as a soft check, and presents the threat of hazard stacking.

Necrozma-Dusk-Mane already checks Eternatus with Thunder Wave which mitigates the threat by crippling its speed tier; furthermore, it can soft check Xerneas with Dynamax and Max Steelspike. Ferrothorn fits perfectly with these two mons as it improves the Xerneas matchup a back-up option for soft checking in case Necrozma-Dusk-Mane gets chipped, which occurs frequently when matched up against a Zacian-C and Xerneas offensive core. Having Ferrothorn's spikes and leech seed work in tandem with Necrozma-Dusk-Mane's stealth rocks whittles the opponent's team down over time. This core would especially benefit from long-term whittling and trading hazards as it has the capability of winning through longevity thanks to its status absorber in Rest Zygarde and multiple mons with rocks resistant typing in Necrozma-Dusk-Mane and Ferrothorn.

An issue that you would get with running another Kyogre check such as Chansey is the problem of an opponent's Ferrothorn. Ferrothorn easily switches into and hard walls Necrozma-Dusk-Mane and Chansey. With a Ferrothorn of your own, you would gain the ability to deny an opponent's Ferrothorn from recovering HP through leech seed and the ability to trade spikes on the field instead of just having them lay spikes on your side for free. Eternatus is less than optimal on a team such as this because it would have to run a specially defensive set for Kyogre. Specially defensive Eternatus sets are good because they provide toxic spikes support for the rest of your team; however, the last thing you want for a Zygarde that sets up on a trapped enemy Pokémon is for that enemy Pokémon to die on its own before Zygarde can fully set up due to your toxic spikes.

Eternatus defensive allows you to defend against mons that may destroy the core such as kyogre. With eternatus kyogre will not be able to survive because of the extreme bulk that eternatus has. It also allows you to set up spikes to hurt the opposing team and lead you to victory. Eternatus is also capable of destroying the kyogre by using Dynamax cannon. Eternatus can also help with Dynamax yveltal special attacker by stalling out the Dyna and using recover.

Yveltal is such a good sp def wall. It is the best counter to the scary horse, calyrex, with knock off ohko-ing it. U-turn is great on yveltal due to one of its switch ins being zacian, but with u-turn you can switch out without losing anything. We also need a defogger for the team, and nothing fits better than yveltal. People like snarl over knock off, but this team could get overwhelmed by strong sp atkers carrying specs, such as kyogre. With knock off you can remove their item such as specs, scarf (which ruins their speed control), and maybe even an eviolite from chansey. That's all I can think of lol, thx for reading uwu.

Although play rough zacian is a meme without a ferro or kyogre zyg is a threat and with how bulky zyg is you need a fairy or kyogre to ohko it or atleast put a dent into it you deal with ndm with zyg and your own ndm which makes it safe to take off assurance for play rough. Dd glare zyg can beat the zyg on this team with luck while zacian can come into a ferro that clearly will use spikes and force them into a bad position where they chance play rough or go into a soft check like caly and try to get a roll or bluff specs. Although this doesn’t really check kyogre it does bait it out making it take more rock damage assuming later on we put a kyogre check on this team. This also breaks HO with zekrom and slurpuff bc it can chip slurpuff with cc into bblade and puts them into a position where they lost slurpuff and need to get zekrom in and dd assuming they don’t know you’re play rough. Then they don’t have something for your fogger and are down 2 mons offensive ndm also does not take cc’s well and are forced to dd but with zyg and your own ndm you can t wave and pivot into zyg or trap ndm with waves and set up on them. Zac also works as a stall breaker chipping mons and with naturally bulky ndm+zyg you can always swap freely on quag with zyg trapping it and resting toxic off as well as pp stalling quag where you can possibly just come into zacian and KO it from 40ish hp. As well as breaking stall it also forces balance users to come into ditto or come into ndm.

Although I do believe we should go with a (specially) defensive mon to complete the defensive core, I think as well with Zacian-Crowned, Calyrex-Shadow are the two win-conditions we should have with this team. The Choice Specs set is the best go-to for this team as I predict will be a semi-stall team, so instant power with Specs will improve this mon's role as a late-game cleaner. Specs Astral Barrage hits like a truck and using Trick to cripple defensive checks like Blissey and Ferrothorn is a very useful tool. Again, it's a little early for this mon, but wanted to put my two cents in.

Meet Ms. Xerneas.
Hopefully, this pokemon doesn't need any introduction. All it takes one geomancy and the whole meta would be having problems. Thunder turns into Max Lightning, which sets up Electric Terrain which can be more useful later on in the game. STAB Moonblast OHKOes almost everything other than pokemon that resist fairy. But still, they are taking a decent chunk of damage. Moonblast turns in Max Starfall which protects it from status moves that like thunder wave and gives it some space to breathe. And the last move is Substitute, which can help waste Necrozma-Dusk-Mane and turns and hit it back much harder once Dynamax is over. Xerneas plays the role of abusing Dynamax(lol) and being a wallbreaker to pressure bulky teams. It can take care of threats Zygarde doesn't take care of very well, and once threats to it are neutralized, we can let the rest of the team play its part.

Some neat calcs I thought were very clean.

Gothitelle is lame but it's a way to cripple Rest Kyogre, Ho-oh and defensive Haze/Dragon Tail Zygarde, some of Scale Shot Zygarde's best counters, reliably. Choice Scarf isn't its best set but it is necessary for Kyogre, and Zygarde has the ability to trap and set up on a lot of regular PP stall Gothitelle's targets anyways, eg. Necrozma-DM and Ferrothorn, plus the set can ultimately be changed if it turns out to be a liability. The EVs allow it to take 2 Dynamax Cannons from defensive Eternatus after rocks, although I might edit it later if I find a spread/set I better like.

In my opinion, our Zygarde set functions best with the ability to have its counters indirectly pressured in some form, usually with either hazards (ie. Spikes) or Gothitelle. Otherwise, it has to rely on the surprise factor or a good matchup to be able to be effective in tandem with its usual offensive partners. For that reason, I think Ferrothorn is the other logical choice, although I think Gothitelle has more merit. While Ferrothorn also provides a Kyogre check and secondary Xerneas check as Will said, it still has to be used with other Kyogre checks in my opinion, as Choice Specs completely overwhelms it and Calm Mind + Rest sets can easily sap Leech Seeds from Ferrothorn once it is burnt from Scald. There are also other ways of offensively checking Xerneas that can be added later, and the team is already harbored against Zacian-C in my eyes with both bulky Zygarde-C and Necrozma-DM.

Meanwhile, Blissey is too passive a partner for Zygarde-C and would have to heavily rely on teammates to actually exert pressure on the opponent, and it doesn't really threaten special attackers like Geomancy Xerneas and Rest Kyogre much at all. While Zac-C and Caly do fit, I think it is a bit too early to choose a fast offensive mon, as Emmilight acknowledges in her submission. Yveltal and Eternatus certainly aren't bad choices either, but again, I think leaving it for later doesn't hurt and would allow for more flexibility.​

At some point, we're going to have to add a Calyrex-S check to our team. SpD Yveltal is the most reliable Calyrex-S check in all of Galar AG. As we have decided the sets for 3/6 of our Pokémon, we can finally settle on a support Yveltal set that synergies well with what we have so far.

I decided that a Knock Off / Roost / U-turn / Defog support Yveltal with maximum HP and SpD investments would be the best set for a support Yveltal on this team. In general, it's better to have a more reliable check in a bulkier Yveltal when your team lacks a secondary soft check or means of counterplay for Calyrex-S. Furthermore, there is no need to run a fast Yveltal that creeps and checks SD Groudon with FP because we already have a behemoth of a physical wall in defensive Zygarde. Knock Off is an extremely solid move for our support Yveltal to have as it easily disturbs balance by knocking crucial items such as Heavy-Duty Boots off from an enemy's defensive pivots. Roost is obviously mandatory for maintaining Yveltal's longevity. Defog is extremely useful on our support Yveltal because the team lacks a defogger and every balance team should have one to maintain hazard control when needed. Lastly, a slow U-turn synergizes well with Gothitelle and other breakers on the team by providing free switch-ins and momentum.​

Right now this team has a major weakness to kyogre, whether it is scarf or specs, it can almost OHKO this whole team. Ferrothorn is capable of surviving a hit against it and can use leech seed to gain back health or kill it using power whip. Ferrethorn is also capable of using spikes against the kyogre which will do damage to lots of mons and take out any sashes. Ferrethon is also capable of surviving against a calyrex depending on its item. If it is a sash then you will be able to survive against it and use leech seed to gain your health back then you can stall it using protect and spikes. This mon allows the other half of the team to survive without a risk of kyogre or sometimes calyrex.

Yveltal is an amazing, and is also a really good mon to support goth. If they predict the goth switch in, and go to a mon like calyrex or yveltal, you can easily double back to yveltal taking minimal damage. This also gives you a free set up for airstream and taking out most of their mons along the way.

With our powerful defensive core, it's time to go crazy with our strong breakers after the walls have taken the proper checks out of the way. Going Choice Specs Kyogre here will grant instant power in a stupid powerful STAB Water Spout to wash away everything in its path. Due to it's lackluster speed in a fast-paced meta, using the walls we have beforehand will greatly affect the impact of how many mons this thing can kill without having to worry about faster threats. Most notably, NDM's check to Zacian-C and Thunder Wave support helps out Kyogre outspeed and be uncontested too freely Water Spout/Origin Pulse mons to death.
