It was close, but I'll vote Bacon. Let me go over the sets and tell you why I voted Bacon in particular.

copycat sub won't really work imo, it sounds nice on paper but after people scout/find out the set they can just break the sub when you set it up making opportunities for copycat not very open, or worse bring in their own marsh to sthief and bypass sub. with only two offensive moves it can't run tech to break [scarf] ygod, zyg-c, ho-oh, pdon etc. so i don't really feel like picking it

scarf is a decent set, especially with sthief as you can steal boosts from geoxern, rp necro-dm etc. however it is not only locked into one move after this it is very weak. so i can't put it up very high.

for fightinium z it is a good set, however fairyceus/xern/ho-oh/unecro can switch in on the attack and just KO back. the positives are you can use hp ice to break zyg-c and ygod can be OHKOed by +1 aop and only has a 50% chance to OHKO +1 marsh with o-wing after rocks. scarf ygod wins however unless the marsh is already +1 and clicks aop
0- Atk Dark Aura Yveltal Foul Play vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Marshadow: 220-261 (68.5 - 81.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
finding opportunities to set up and stay in can be difficult because marsh can easily be forced out by fairyceus, xern, ho-oh and the like however if you predict the switch you can set up safely. the set also fails to break pdon unless +1 aop and rocks.

i don't really have much to say about z-work up other than it's pretty good, the main problem is again ho-oh/xern/fairyceus/other check or counter coming in, tanking and then OHKOing especially if shadow sneak, so you're going to need support to clear those. besides that, it's good.

band is a great set, the power exceeds lo so you can grab OHKOes that were out of reach before. again, you are locked into one move and this may force you out, but it is a very effective set especially because it can run tech to break checks like ho-oh.

it was really tough to pick between zenithial and bacon but there are a couple of problems. first off opposing marsh can bypass sub, and OHKO with their new +2 attack boost. the second problem is that sets with outrage usually run lum berry, so that will essentially give the other poke a free attack boost. however zenithial's set is amazing and has few checks.

so bacon set has basically nothing that can stop it except for unecro. this set can actually beat fairyceus if you toxic it on the switch-in, which is crucial. this can force the opponent to lose momentum by using recover or switching out. of course marsh has a limited amount of time that it can set this up but it beats so many things i could not ignore it.

thanks to everyone who participated in this edition of next best thing!

sub taunt hex sludge wave/focus blast

reserving reflect type

Gengar-Mega @ Gengarite
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Reflect Type
- Sludge Wave
- Taunt
- Shadow Ball

Pretty fun set, with Reflect Type you can trap ferrothorn, celesteela, darkceus and defensive yveltal and also escape from tyranitar. Shadow ball & Sludge wave are pretty strong anyway so gar can do its standard revenge killing stuff (xern/rayquaza/ekiller/unecro/whatever gar can revenge kill) while luring in the above threats.

- Perish Song

Sub/Disable Gar with Perish Song kills mono attackers which are slower with only the loss of 25% HP, eg: Zygarde, Arceus Formes other than ground, allowing you to remove something like Arceus-Dark to allow a sweep for Ultra Necrozma or to remove say Defensive Zygarde to allow something like Marsh to sweep/take a mon out.

gameplan is make xern set up and then steel it. moonblast does about 80 and thunder does max 98 so that also survives.

taunt is there to prevent defog arceus from defogging like water.

This works with toxapex (and tenta the best tspiker) as it does huge damage with venoshock and faking out opps making you think its full out attacker then you reveal your other tech cards in song disable and even dbond
No taunt kinda sucks but you really are able to kill so much with this and out play and tech card vs almost everything and you fake out stuff with venoshock cuz yea hex would be cool but then they think you all power and then u reveal the tech cards

Reserving Wonder Room MGar

Everyone knows what Trick Room is, and some people may even know the effects of Magic Room. I present to you Wonder Room MGar.

- Wonder Room
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Curse / Focus Blast / idc

So in case you don't know, Wonder Room is an status move with neutral priority that switches the defense stat and the special defense stat of all Pokémon on the field for five (5) turns. That sounds like a bizarre and beyond situational attack, like Rototiller or Magnetic Flux, but this field effect completely changes several mons counterplay options. Look at this calc!

+2 252+ SpA Fairy Aura Xerneas Moonblast vs. 4 HP / 252 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 603-711 (93.9 - 110.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Have you ever seen a Chansey OHKO'd by a special attack? Naganadel has to be at +5 for Z-Draco to have a chance to OHKO and CM Water Spout Primal-Ogre has to be at +3 (meaning it can't out-boost Confide without Rest Talk). That's what Wonder Room can do! And one of the most viable mons in AG gets it! The great news is that there are a few other AG-viable mons that learn Wonder Room, the most notable of which are Deoxys, Lunala, Mewtwo, and Xerneas, but this list also includes Alakazam, Azelf, Cofagrigus, Diance, Golduck, Latios, Lugia, Meloetta, Meowstic-M (Prankster!), Mesprit, Mew, Nihilego, Sableye, Smeargle, Stakataka, Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini, and Uxie. Essentially the goal is going to be to keep Wonder Room up and hit mons really hard with attacks for which they were not prepared. The best teammates are going to be the typical suspects, Primal-Ogre and Geo Xern, while CM Arc and Z-Marsh are also really good.

These calcs are going to look very wonky as Wonder Room is not programmed into the damage calculator, but they all should be adjusted correctly:

252 SpA Gengar-Mega Sludge Wave vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Blissey: 784-924 (109.8 - 129.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Gengar-Mega Sludge Wave vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Ho-Oh: 147-174 (35.3 - 41.8%) -- 80.2% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Gengar-Mega Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 40+ SpD Prism Armor Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 195-231 (48.9 - 58%) -- 55.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Kyogre-Primal Water Spout (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 16+ SpD Ferrothorn in Heavy Rain: 204-240 (57.9 - 68.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Kyogre-Primal Ice Beam vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Arceus-Grass: 238-280 (53.7 - 63.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252+ SpA Fairy Aura Xerneas Moonblast vs. 4 HP / 252 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 603-711 (93.9 - 110.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252+ SpA Xerneas Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 40+ SpD Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 235-277 (59 - 69.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

+1 8 SpA Stone Plate Arceus-Rock Judgment vs. 4 HP / 252 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 303-357 (47.1 - 55.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

+1 252 Atk Marshadow Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Arceus-Ground: 397-468 (89.4 - 105.4%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

have you even used this set? it looks like a weird mix of different moves. Unless you provide replays where you show that this set actually works, ill be forced to not include this in the voting bcz this really does not make much sense to me.
