Tablet Tricks- My Digital Art.​

Hello my name is Precipice, welcome to my art thread. I'll do requests If you ask me to, however I am very busy and If enough people take an interest in my work, please bear in midn they could take a while to finish. I draw using my Aiptek Slim Tablet- which I love, and I use GIMP as my graphics programme, I don't want to splash out on Photoshop when GIMP does a fair job for me.​

I decided to stay with the theme of the thread and attempt to draw a more realistic pokemon, I tried to re-pose him although it's not particularly original- I found his proportions really difficult for some reason. I'm fairly happy with the end result, I'm sorry it does lack a bit of detail, some is lost in the scanner and I don't have time to spend hours on forum requests. This probably took me the best part of an hour and 15 minutes.
Since everyone is big into 5th gen atm, I'd thought I might as well do one of the most recognised pokemon of the generation- Zoroark. Also he looks badass and I like drawing badass pokemon.


Monkey:

This little guy actually started off as practice for one of the other projects I'm doing- I wanted to do something with lots of hair to test out a new technique I'm trying for drawing fur/hair- But I got really into it ^^;. It's relatively easy to master but you need the right tools and a shitload of patienceL: If you'd like to know more I'd be happy to point you in the right direction. Unfortunately, because it started out as practice, I didn't choose the best image to work from, meaning the face and eyes had very little detail on them and I really struggled with them towards the end. I'm not too please with it tbh, there's a lot wrong with this drawing and it's not a great piece. Hopefully the next one I do can be slightly better ^^
Also I apologise there are some slight reflections in some parts- my scanner isn't perfect ^^;

I know I know, I should update this more often! I've been really busy lately and so I've fallen behind a bit, but I did get my art badge! (YAY)

I'm going to make it my new years resolution to do more small drawings that I can add more frequently. However please understand the large ones take a long time and so won't be posted as often.

Well I gave it my best shot, hope you like it =] I didn't do any proper shading because it would probably look out of place, but I was struggling for ideas so eventually I went back to your name :3

Sorry I've been so busy recently, christmas, new years and doing other requests and my own things I just didn't have time to do all of them and so I had to prioritise, I think considering you already have a sketch of yours it would be kinda pointless for me to do the same thing but just a pencil outline. Once again I'm sorry but thats just how it goes.


Projects:

Well I got all the art stuff I wanted for christmas so hopefully the quality of my drawings can improve ^^ That and I've had a hell of a lot of practice over the holidays ^^;

Obviously I will be doing my own personal projects as I see fit, they will take priority over everything else (Depending on If I'm called in to help with this issue of the Smog.)

As you may or may not have noticed I got my Artist's badge, which means I'll now be helping do some artwork for the smog so that will take up more of my precious time xP

I'd be more than happy to do quick line drawing (maybe slightly detailed) sketches for people who'd like them, If you'd like me to work from an image please provide it.

I'll also be coming to you guys for what you thinki should draw next!

It looks adorable! If I were still the Narutard I was a few years ago I'd say it reminded me of Gaara. :P Thanks a ton! I'd use it as an avatar but I want to stick to what I'm doing for my avatar for awhile.

Also, the hair on that monkey is really amazing. How long did it take?

I will probably be getting a tablet tommorow coz it's my birthday tommorow! :D So this may be one of the last traditional drawings I post in this thread- If you want to carry on seeing them visit my deviantart (OP)

With this finished however that begs the question- What should I draw next?

I'm terrible at making decisions so once again I'm going to leave it up to you guys. Since I predict most of you will choose me to draw a pokemon anyway there's no point doing another poll on that.

If you have something you would like me to draw post it in this thread, if you agree with another poster simply quote their message and say you do so. I will choose the top 3 nominated pokemon and draw those.

It's likely that after that I will transfer this thread to one for displaying my digital art.

This guy probably took me the best part of an hour to do thus far, I figured he'd be pretty cool to draw, he actually turned out to be pretty difficult and I'm still not happy with it tbh. But I need to practice and the comments I get from you guys are somewhat useful.

Next pokemon to draw: Feraligatr.

Still taking requests if people want 'em as I have finished my main smog piece now.
