Mega Evolutions: 1 per team
SPECIAL RULE: Any Pokémon Ranked C or Higher on the ASB Viability Rankings are banned from this HLM. So are Plasmanta and Mewtwo. The intent is to showcase overlooked Pokémon or random favourites.
Rules are simple and intend to showcase the current metagame now that Gen VI came and settled.
Prizes consist of normal battle counters (that's 2 CC per trainer and 1 EC, 2 MC, 1 AC and any gained KO Counters per participating Pokemon). The winner receives 5 UC to spend as well and, of course, will be recorded as a Highlight Match winner!
Reffing
Anyone that wishes to ref this battle may PM me stating their qualifications to ref. I will choose one ref and one subref to avoid problems if the original ref has a conflict. Referees recieve the heightened rewards for gym battles, to represent the stricter DQ time and exceptional work needed to display.
NEW RULE: Referees will now gain 1.5× Normal Pay from matches to reflect the higher standard of the matches.
Battle
Well it is time for the battle now and to start, I will tag both battlers and the referee to watch this thread: akela, Matezoide, ummm who was it again? Oh. Mowtom who agreed to referee this the fastest. In the event that Mowtom goes AWOL Avnomke will probably take over to finish up the refereeing.
For the teams well lets see. For akela's side, pay attention to his Wailmer. Apparently Rare Candy Wailmer is one of the latest innovations that makes up for the loss of bulk relative to its evolution come on only -10 hp for an extra rank boost to its attacking stats, allowing it to be a strong hole puncher with decentish bulk to back it up. For Matezoide's side, pay attention to his Granbull. With that supercharged Play Rough assuming Rare Candy, that Granbull can plough through the Malamar with little difficulties and has a strong matchup elsewhere. Though it kinda does not exactly want to switch into Malamar unless it can take +1 Attack moves.

About: An extremely wealthy Snubull, Stella Muchmoney always had an easy life. Acess to the finest foods, the best rooms and the most luxurious training programs, Stella really has everything. One day, when she happened to pass by Matezoide, she quickly developed a crush on Steve. This, as well as always wanting to battle and see just how powerful could be, she (basically) begged to be captured. Luckly, she did not lose any money with this and now, Matezoide's money has been tripled from her allowance!
Although she is a bit annoying and spoilled, the sheer amount of money made the vast majority of Matezoide's team (Matezoide included) hasty to accept her.
Currently, Stella is a happy Granbull that found talent in boxing, constantly sparring with Mac.
Abilities:
Intimidate (Trigger): When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing their Attack stage by one (1). The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again as a Command, and will affect all opponents.
Quick Feet (Passive): This Pokemon feels a sense of anxiety when afflicted with a status condition and its speed increases by 50% (x1.5). Although it can still be fully paralyzed, it will not suffer the Speed drop.
Rattled (HIDDEN ABILITY UNLOCKED Passive): These Pokemon are more easily frightened by Ghost, Bug, and Dark-typed attacks and will raise their speed by one (1) stage when struck by attacks of those types.

After an incredibly hard fight, Steve was able to whistand his ''Fist Of Fury'' and finish it off with a powerfull Reversal attack. Content for fighting someone so powerfull, Bert allowed himself to be caught.
Bert is extremely focused and disciplined, but is incredibly easy-going, as shown when he first met Bosco.

Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, Volt Absorb will not absorb electric attacks, Clear Body does not prevent stat-drops, etc.)

About: An extremely wealthy Snubull, Stella Muchmoney always had an easy life. Acess to the finest foods, the best rooms and the most luxurious training programs, Stella really has everything. One day, when she happened to pass by Matezoide, she quickly developed a crush on Steve. This, as well as always wanting to battle and see just how powerful could be, she (basically) begged to be captured. Luckly, she did not lose any money with this and now, Matezoide's money has been tripled from her allowance!
Although she is a bit annoying and spoilled, the sheer amount of money made the vast majority of Matezoide's team (Matezoide included) hasty to accept her.
Currently, Stella is a happy Granbull that found talent in boxing, constantly sparring with Mac.
Abilities:
Intimidate (Trigger): When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing their Attack stage by one (1). The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again as a Command, and will affect all opponents.
Quick Feet (Passive): This Pokemon feels a sense of anxiety when afflicted with a status condition and its speed increases by 50% (x1.5). Although it can still be fully paralyzed, it will not suffer the Speed drop.
Rattled (HIDDEN ABILITY UNLOCKED Passive): These Pokemon are more easily frightened by Ghost, Bug, and Dark-typed attacks and will raise their speed by one (1) stage when struck by attacks of those types.

Upon hearing from Ernie how powerfull his new companions are, Bert couldnt help but challenge Steve, promissing to join them if he lost. After an incredibly hard fight, Steve was able to whistand his ''Fist Of Fury'' and finish it off with a powerfull Reversal attack. Content for fighting someone so powerfull, Bert allowed himself to be caught.
Bert is extremely focused and disciplined, but is incredibly easy-going, as shown when he first met Bosco.

Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, Volt Absorb will not absorb electric attacks, Clear Body does not prevent stat-drops, etc.)
