[ASBuddies - Semi Final 2] Team TBD vs Team deadFrost

Just noticed while I was working on orders. Gale, you forgot the se multiplier on Hyper Voice vs Lucario. Also iirc the + 2 from Pixilate is applied after the spread mod, but I'm less sure on that.

FROSTYEDIT: G0LD is correct. +2 comes after spread multiplier.

Alright guys, the errors are fixed now S0L1D G0LD and P2X7 are up.

Edit: Regarding the ruling for Encore on a move that did not specify a target:
If a target isn't specified, one is rolled for by the ref. This means that by the time Encore is used, rather than Encoring "Aura Sphere", it's Encoring the move which was actually used, "Aura Sphere (Target)". At least, this is how I would rule it.
Thanks to DF and IAR for clearing that up.

If you are targeted by Fake Out, use Protect that action, but only once.
If you are targeted by a damaging priority attack with 2 priority, use Shadow Sneak + Shadow Sneak (Sableye) that action
If you are targeted by a damaging priority attack with 1 priority, use Water Shuriken + Hydro Pump (Lucario) that action.

There's nothing in the handbook stating my subs are illegal, but I'd like to be informed if they are, as I got mixed feedback on it .-. .

Draining Kiss (Sableye) - Dazzling Gleam - Draining Kiss (Sableye)
IF Dazzling Gleam is Imprisoned when you would act, use Moonblast (Sableye) that action instead.
IF Sableye is a Poison-type when you would target it, use Psyshock (Sableye) on the first instance, Psychic (Sableye) the second, and Psyshock (Sableye) the third.
IF your foe is under the effects of a successful P/E move when you would act target your other foe.
KO Sub: IF your target is KO'd when you would act, target your other foe.

Spr_DP_Gentleman.png

"Now time to commence operation 'that thing we totally meant to do last round'!"

Lucario: Feint (Greninja) - Iron Head (Gardevoir) - Metal Claw (Gardevoir)

Sableye: Fake Out (Gardevoir) - Shadow Claw (Gardevoir) - Moonlight (Self)
IF Gardevoir flinches A2 THEN Imprison (Imprison, Counter, Dazzling Gleam) A3

Specific moves cannot be separated from the attack clauses.
For Eg: 'Damaging Water type attacks that have secondary effects' is not a valid attack clause. It will be treated as how substitutions based on P/E moves that mention the word 'successfully' as an added effect of the attack clause, is treated.

As in, the extra specificity mentioned for the attack clause is just Ignored. Besides who even said that a Shuriken can be combined with a Hydro Pump? *smh*

Tl;dr second sub and third sub of user S0L1D G0LD is the same, and the second sub gets priority.

Round 4: The Perfectionist and The Gladiator!
So Team deadFrost got rid of the crippled frog in style and didn't leave any semblance of a team left behind them.
The round starts with Zant using Fake Out on Guinevere to flinch her while they dispose of the pesky Frog, who despite being crippled does a meager damage on Zant before getting a deceived jab that knocks him out.

Zant and Glow then began working on Guinevere with Super Effective attacks, while Guinevere responded with a Dazzling Gleam because she had a soar throat.

We finally see that Zant recovered almost all of the damage dealt by Team TBD, and laughed at Guinevere who was knocked out by Glow's Metallic Claws.

There was finally some turn around for Team deadFrost in terms of luck, as they got two crits in a row. Although, I think an attack boost would have been more useful. Lets see how luck holds out for them as they seem to be thrashing through their opponents in this Semi-Final.

Pff, who cares about ordering first or sending out first when you can wreck the opposition with pure skill. See you folks on the flip side, which I think would probably be the end of this battle.

Oh and btw, Some spoilers for you. Glow would most definitely be the MVP for this battle, unless Zant does something truly spectacular to overcome the triple KO.

Given how many times you guys passed DQ, I call this oddly ironic. Actually I was going to call it something else, but hey, better not.

Sableye: Fake Out (Krilowatt) - Shadow Claw (Krilowatt) - Knock Off (Krilowatt)
IF D/E without suspense AND not in a combo AND A2 or A3 THEN activate STALL on your action
IF damaging Fairy typed combination AND Sableye is a target AND A2 or A3 THEN Protect and push back
IF Krillowatt has a Life Orb when you are to act AND A2 or A3 THEN Knock Off (Krilowatt)

As for the rules of warning and such, not my place to call anything. I might yell at you for being a hypocrite son of a gun, but that is just part of business.

EDIT: Oh yeah and OP says 4 days, not 96h. There is a difference. Specially when you have players 12h apart on the timezone whatever. also deadfox081 still has a warning to burn.

My partner's comments summarise my own rather well.

Lucario: Zen Headbutt - Psychic - Zen Headbutt
IF D/E without suspense AND not in a combo AND Krilowatt is faster THEN Extremespeed and push back
IF Krillowatt is Fairy Typed THEN Iron Tail and push back
IF Krilowatt is Dark Typed THEN Close Combat and push back

Historically, in my experience, if I've participated in an x day dq battle, I've been tagged at the y hour mark. If I tried to say it didn't work as such, I was corrected. I assume you'll see the reason for my mistake here.

Counter - Payback (Lucario) - Dazzling Gleam
If you flinch a1, use Discharge a2 and Hyper Beam + Signal Beam (Lucario) a3.
If Zen Headbuutt targets Sableye a1, use Signal Beam (Lucario) a1 and a2.

Round 5: The Spectator, The Referee and The Player!
Everyone has the freedom of speech and expression.
The flavor is part of a referee's work. It is done for the spectators and is written as a spectator. It is not meant as a personal interaction between the players and the referee. It is purely for the purpose of entertainment.

How a referee deals with flavor is their own choice, some prefer to mention the attacks, some prefer to illustrate a story and so on. It helps in keeping the referee interested and motivated to do his work.

The referee will not get any extra UCs or CCs to side any player in their flavor, but they definitely would lose the chance to referee battles if they don't put any flavor.

All my flavors are my personal opinions of the round in a battle, expressed in a way that I feel comfortable in. I have not disrespected any forum rules, and neither have I grossly insulted any player or team. There may be biases in flavor, but it can be seen in any form of flavor in any sports or games. Be it a football commentary, or a movie narration.

Liking or not liking a flavor is upto individuals, but demeaning the referee's flavor or asking them to restrict the way they put up flavor because one / few people don't like it, is not something that I agree to.

If you don't want me to put up flavor in your battles, then I would like you to contact Frosty and the hosts of the Tournament. If the folks in-charge, ask me to not put up any flavors, or to put flavors in the fashion as "A did B to C". Then I would either choose to do it, or choose not to take part in the refereeing of those battles (This extends to TLR, Gym, RP and Regular battles).

That being said, I will not change my flavor style because any one person (or a few people) dislike it.

-------------------
A did B to C Flavor
-------------------

Mega Lucario targets Sableye, gets confused and hits himself.
Krilowatt uses Signal Beam twice on Mega Lucario, knocks him out, and loses his life orb.
Sableye fakes out the second time after send out, and knocks out Krilowatt's Life orb.

-----------

Now I am sure that some folks would not like this kind of flavor. I can't be changing my style for everyone's tastes. Will put my usual flavor from the next round on. Which will possibly be the last round of this battle, IMO.

The referee writes flavor as a commentator. Being a referee means being impartial. As for the role of a commentator, the difference between here and a "football game" or "move narration" is that the battlers can read/hear the narration or commentary while it is happening. Do you think most announcers would show the kinds of preferences or biases they have or want to say if they knew the players could hear them? I think not.

When did I "demean your flavor" or "ask you to restrict the way it is put up"? I expressed my distaste for heavy bias in, as aforementioned, a competition where the contenders experience the commentary as they are fighting the match. That isn't close.

Hydro Pump - Thunder - Hydro Pump

If Metal Burst and you move before Sableye and Sableye is not asleep and Sableye is not under Cooldown, use Toxic on the first instance, Imprison (Protect, Endure, ) on the second, and Hail on the third, pushing back in each case.
If damaging Electric-Type move when you are set to use Hydro Pump and you move before Sableye and Sableye is not asleep and Sableye is not under Cooldown, use Earth Power that action and push back.
If Sableye is under the effects of the evasive stage of a non suspended d/e move when you would act, use Dive that action and push back.

Round 6: Puke!
When you are sick, you puke!
Vomiting (known medically with the Greek term emesis and informally as throwing up and numerous other terms) is the involuntary, forceful expulsion of the contents of one's stomach through the mouth and sometimes the nose. Vomiting can be caused by a wide variety of conditions; it may present as a specific response to ailments like gastritis or poisoning, or as a non-specific sequela of disorders ranging from brain tumors and elevated intracranial pressure to overexposure to abusing radiation. The feeling that one is about to vomit is called nausea, which often precedes, but does not always lead to, vomiting. Antiemetics are sometimes necessary to suppress nausea and vomiting. In severe cases, where dehydration develops, intravenous fluid may be required.

Funny thing: We always did really well ordering last and really really poor ordering first. Here is hope that this tendency doesn't repeat itself.

Although I just want this trainwreck to end.

Thunder Punch [STALL] (Krilowatt) - Shadow Claw [STALL] (Krilowatt) - Thunder Punch (Krilowatt)
[ONCE]IF
Water Typed Damaging Combo is ordered THEN Initiate action string Protect - Chill and push back
[ONCE]IF Fairy Typed Damaging Combo is ordered THEN Initiate action string Protect - Chill and push back
[ONCE]IF Mind Reader AND not in a combo THEN Taunt (Krilowatt) and push back

(note: "AND Krilowatt isn't under cooldown nor is asleep nor is under thrash nor is frozen nor is flinched nor is locked on a suspended D/E etc" is assumed on all subs due to hotfix, but fsr if not lemme know and I will copy and past it on the orders)

Gold is under loa. Sick.

As per general tourney rules, policy for loa is decided by the manager of the tourney. Also this tourney has funky dq (lack of) history so I would much rather have Leethoof and leet only deal with the matter.

On the meantime lets all count to 10000000.

First off, my apologies to all parties involved. I was flat out sick for the last five days. That being said, I'm about well enough to order in things now, so I'm back.

If it makes any difference, and at this point I'm sure it doesn't, I will be able to post ASAP assuming leet ok's me ordering still.
