Is it true that for battle tower when our pokemon changes from level 100 to level 50 both our stats and EV pts are halved, while the opponent's pokemon have halved stats but full EV pts?

Because Zapdos' IVs are set when you talk to oak what about it's nature? Would synchronize be effective? If it is would it work to have a dead poke w/ synchronize in first place then put your lvl59 (for encountering under repel) in second? Maybe not a simple question but meh.

Nature is set, Synchronize won't work.

Would Earthquake/Stone Edge/Fire Punch/Avalanche be an acceptable Choice Band Rhyperior? Not sure about if Avalanche is acceptable for Hippowdon.

Why not run standard Aqua Tail instead of Avalanche? Anyways, STAB Earthquake will do 46.43% - 54.52%, which is a 2HKO Hippowdon 52.01% of the time w/o SR, 100% with it. It'll also hit harder than Avalanche if Hippowdon choices not to attack, though a boosted Avalanche will do 74.29% - 87.62%, hardly ever an OHKO (like 2% chance with SR), meaning if Hippowdon catches on and recovers, your unboosted Avalanche won't seal the deal.

Just wondering if it was viable. Thanks for replying, I'll go with Aqua Tail.

One more question: can someone with Platinum battle someone with Pearl over WiFi?

I believe the game mechanics that are used are decided by who hosts the game, although I could be wrong.

You're right Tab, the accuracy of hypnosis depends on who hosts the battle: if D\P hosts then it's 70%, if Pt hosts, then it's 60%.

OK, that's odd. Thanks. Is there an FAQ on the Pt vs D/P WiFi thing? Wondering about certain things like Rotom forms (I assume they're useable but D/P has no sprite for them), and I don't want to pollute the thread.

I hear the Rotom formes can't be used on Wi-fi, as well as Shaymin-S and Giratina-O, but I might be mistaken.

Trying to go for the 100-win streak in the Battle Tower, 1v1. This good?

Adamant Gyarados @ Shell Bell
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Rain Dance
- Waterfall
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake

Timid Jolteon @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Thunder
- Baton Pass
- Shadow Ball
- Toxic

Adamant Toxicroak @ Life Orb
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Poison Jab
- Sucker Punch
- Earthquake
- Revenge

My strategy is obvious - switch to Jolteon to absorb electric attacks, use Gyarados to set up the rain for the rest of the team. Toxicroak takes advantage of the rain and serves to help with type coverage.

1. Should I buy Platinum?
2. What is the best OU moveset for Milotic because she is my favorite pokemon and not crappy in the least?
1. You know the answer you're gonna get if you ask this on a competitive Pokémon site.
2. There is no "best" moveset. They all work better in different situations against different teams.

1) Yes...Plat sprites are so much better than D/P ones...Why not Cloyster and Walrein sprites :<...
2) I preffer these two:
Milotic@Leftovers
Bold nature
148HP/252Def/110SpA
~Surf
~Recover
~Ice Beam (or Blizzard in Hail)
~Light Screen

Milotic@Leftovers
Bold nature
252HP/240Def/18SpA
~Rest
~Sleep Talk
~Surf
~Ice Beam (again, Blizzard in Hail)
Milo is one of my absolute favs as well :P ...

in a doubles battle(VGC) what is the biggest threat to a bronzong? i plan on using him as a lead to set up rain dance, and undo trick room if someone sets it up. what else would be good to counter trick room teams?

If I have a friend sav the moveset for my Scizor (fore mentioned), does it make it hacked?.
