Ok, no one has answered my question about Baton Passing yet. Instead, I'll break it down simpler.

If every Pokemon could learn Baton Pass, which would be the best Baton Passer? (disincluding ubers)

The best to pass speed?

Special Attack?

Attack?

Defense?

Special Defense?

Wishpass?

That's a weird hypothetical question FAR beyond the scope of this topic, Sion, plus passing defense and special defense is generally a losing strategy. However, if I had to choose a hypothetical baton passer, I'd love to use Cresselia as one. High HP and huge defenses means it can take more than one hit before dying, ensuring you get your pass to whomever you please.

I've been debating now, with my team of Infernape/Weavile/Electivire/Skarmory/Vaporeon/Tangrowth planned, now I seem to want to replace three members with Donphan, Swampert, Breloom, should I replace anyone?

>.> <.< I already have all I need to breed all 9 of these guys actually. Maybe have 3 as alternates?

ok back to my question on page 39 about the extremely low stat changes when I lvled up my Roserade.... am i doing something wrong or is something like this normal?
This would be the first time i lvled it after it became inactive w/pokerus.

im a little concerned because this happened to my haunter and magmar in the same situation
(First time lvling w/inactive pokerus but with low stat changes)

Guys guys.

It's accepted practice in fast-bump threads to type @Name before you talk. You guys will confuse people.

@General Tso
Do not run Electivire without Gyarados. He's pretty crappy without his ability.

hey i was just wondering does machamp's ability no guard work in double battles with OHKO attacks? (Don't have the time to check/test)

Well if that's true, who do I replace him with? (Is not limited to the pokemon I suggested)

@Ichabod
No Guard affects OHKO attacks, however it only affects ones being used against Machamp or attacks Machamp is using. This also applies to all other moves.

@General Tso
I say you drop Tangrowth for Gyarados and perhaps replace Vaporeon or Electivire with Umbreon.

Two common opening variations:

Umbreon with Mean Look locks something without TBolt, Baton Pass into Gyarados (so that Umbreon soaks up the last damage), who will DD 2x and win the game against anything but a very sturdy tank. MAKE SURE YOUR UMBREON IS VERY SLOW!

Or, open with Gyarados, wait for them to switch into a counter that will TBolt, switch into Electivire. This is simpler.

@Ichabod
It would, but I don't think Machamp has any OHKO attacks and, if I'm wrong, will survive long enough, Choice Scarf or not, to use one more than once.

1. I pledged to myself not to use Gyarados =/

2. Vaporeon is there for wish support.

Let me just ask this then, what is Electivire main purpose?

@General Tso
1. Then replace Electivire with a Dusknoir with EQ and Thunderpunch. Dusknoir is a great Pokemon that counters Gyarados-Electivire and can do alot of damage to a team that has no solid way to remove him quickly.

2. Umbreon WishPasses too, though Vaporeon is arguably better at it.

Electivire's ONLY purpose is to make supplement Gyarados. Otherwise, it's a mediocre sweeper at best.

@Ichabod
Ohhh... my bad.

If you swapped abilities and had a OHKO attack, then yes, that pokemon would destroy everybody's Pokemon in OHKO attacks. I wouldn't know what Pokemon is capable of this, however.

The only way you could actually get the ability onto a Pokemon with an OHKO move would be to Skill Swap it from Machamp, switch out Machamp and then re-Skill Swap it to another Pokemon. However, I'm not sure if this would actually give that Pokemon the No Guard trait or if it would give it the Pokemon's original trait. If it's the latter, then there is no way to abuse No Guard through Skill Swap and an OHKO move.

@Hipno
Not alot. Not nearly enough to kill them before it wears off.

@Ichabod
Yeah, I think this idea, although it's great in theory, is specifically nerfed by Nintendo.

But something close would be to use Slaking and to remove his Truant. ^^

@Klugnar
Calm Mind and Light Screen is terrible -- you're doing the same thing twice, basically. Cresselia is generally used as a counter to Garchomp, Salamence, Gyarados, etc.... It's not really meant to sweep, which is why you rarely see one with Calm Mind. It also has 130 base Special Defense compared to 110 base Defense which is why Reflect is more common.
