Why do people say beeing Fire-types is bad, and despite it, what made Heatran so popular?
Heatran is Fire/Steel, so just not Fire.Great typing, great defenses, great movepool, Heatran is an excellent revenge killer in the metagame and can also be used defensively surprisingly well.

There just aren't many good Fire-Types out there, and the Fire-Type is an awful defensive typing, particularly since Fire-Type pokemon to begin with aren't really bulky anyways. Add being Stealth Rock weak, the prevalence of the bulky waters, and no immunity to sandstorm, the fact that Fire is a predominantly Special typing (which means you've got a Blissey problem)and you've got a problem.
Heatran is part Steel, so it goes a long way towards nullifying the defensive problems of Fire Types, as he's neutral towards SR and not affected by Sandstorm or Toxic Spikes. Coupled with an excellent ability, decent bulk, and the ability to raise his average speed with Choice Scarf, and he's very useful either as a Scarfer or in helping to set up Stealth Rock. He is stopped by cold by Blissey but can explode on her, which makes things easier

For event things like the Azure Flute and the Members card, once the event ends (I.E., September XX - November XX), is it impossible to receive the item/pokemon without hacking?
Edit: Rather, will it be impossible to get using the mystery gift option?

Super Fang? No thanks, Walrein can 2HKO Skarmory anyway; is Substitute nessecary?
Lovirna, both are, the first set does an excellent job countering Heatran.

How much SpA/Atk do Regice and Regirock need? Should I ben9ifit their lower defensive stat with a nature?
Also, Protect/Blizzard/Substitute/Surf?

Can someone direct me to an explanation of what a "life orb number" is? I know that if you're planning on using a life Orb, then you should have your HP be a certain type of number (odd, even, ends with 9 or something?!), but I just don't know what it is.

I want to EV train my RNG'd 0spd-nature Regirock in HP anyway for a TR SS team paired with a TR Hippodown (doubles), and plan on him using an Orb, but don't know what a good HP for him is. I guess I'll chuck the rest in SDef, but with SS that doesn't seem necissary.

Oh, Buster....
Only use one. If you anticipate having any trouble getting RD off, you're better off just going without it. Trust me. And make sure you're team is set up incase you can't get it off. It will be blocked at some point and you must be able to handle that. For a real life example, I faced several RD teams at Worlds and not one used RD because I had a Timid Crobat with Taunt as a Lead. They just rolled without it and did just fine. :/ I just found out that Starmie is great on RD, because it's a speedy sweeper regardless of the rain, but still gets STAB+RD boost for it's surf. Base 115 spd rawks!

I believe that a "Life Orb number" is one that ends in 9. If your Regirock has 330 HP, it will take 33 damage due to Life Orb recoil, but if it has 329 HP, it will take 32 damage due to Life Orb recoil (since the damage taken is 10% rounded down).

A Life Orb number, at least as far as I understand it, is really just making sure that a Pokemon's HP isn't a multiple of 10, so that it can use Life Orb 11 times (assuming it takes no other damage), instead of 10 times (due to the amount of HP it takes being rounded down, as explained). However, since it's unlikely that you actually will be able to use Life Orb 10 times in a row without having taken any sort of damage, it's not something that's overly important.

(Battle Tower Lead Weavile stuff)

59x91s.png
@Life Orb
252Atk/6SpD/252Spe
Jolly nature
~Swords Dance
~Night Slash
~Ice Shard/Ice Punch
~Brick Break
Or should he have Fake Out instead? Weavile might not be able to accomplish a Swords Dance in Battle Tower without the Sash.

Is Belly Drum + Aqua Jet Azumarill legal now? Today a guy used a Belly Drum + Aqua Jet Marill (lol) against me today on the Shoddy ladder...

Nope; nothing's changed to make that legal (neither are move-tutor moves, and nothing that Azumarill can get one of the moves from seems to have gained the other), at least nothing that I can see.

So I must assume is an error of the move legality thing in Shoddy? thanks for the help (even if I hope someone fix this, it is quite a huge issue given the sinergy between Belly Drum and Aqua Jet...)
