Is a Light Orb Pikachu at all viable in OU? I'm asking this mostly because I really, really, (really!) want to use one in someone's face.

It's not viable in the competitive play in the sense that you won't be able to compete at the highest level. However Pikachu is fun to use and can work in random ladder matches; most problematic pokemon are Celebi and Rotom. If you PM reyscarface he may be able to give you some pointers on using him.

There is nothing to the right. Just my count of each of the Apricorns on the left half of the bottom screen and blankness on the right half.
Near the Pokeathlon Dome (to the left, in the large open area) there's a person standing near three bottles of Aprijuice. Talk to that person and they'll give you the thing you're after.

While my DS is in repairs, my pokewalker goes on and on saving stuff.

What is the maximum amount of gifts/watts a pokewalker can hold?

Edit: Just pressing the "post reply" button a coworker came over and connected to my pokewalker, giving me my 10th gift. A bit worried about what's gonna happen now :|

From what I've read (can't remember where) it can store 999 Watts, and you've hit the gift limit. Apparently any more Pokewalker connections will give you some Watts.

Alright, thanks. All I really wanted was to use him in casual battles (EV'd and IV'd, of course), but the idea of a Pikachu sweep just sounded too good to pass up.

Where can I find info on the BP payouts in the HGSS Battle Frontier? Bulbapedia only has "few", "normal", and "lots", and I'm looking for something a bit more specific than that.

I have found a glitch on Shoddy Battle while I was messing around and I was wondering if anyone else discovered this? I was using a team that's purpose is simply to drag the match on by using Protect/Dig/Dive/Rest, etc. I don't mean to win, but to simply drag the match on as long as I can. Here is what happened though:

1st turn:
Scyther used Pursuit
Shuckle used Dig

2nd turn:
Shuckle used Dig
It didn't affect Scyther
Scyther used Pursuit

Now, Shuckle wasn't holding Quick Claw, so you're probably asking yourself, "How did Shuckle move first?" Well you see, I clicked on Dig for the 1st turn. On the 2nd turn, however, I clicked on Protect just to see what would happen. Well, it appears that using Protect while invincible with Dig/Dive/Fly/Shadow Force turns those 2-turn moves into priority moves! I have also tested this with Swampert using Dive and it works! Has this already been discovered?

Oak, Gary:

Normally, that's not supposed to happen. While a Pokemon is using a two-turn attack, it "can't take any action", such as choosing a move. The two-turn attack is "still considered to be [the move] the user 'chose for use', even though the user couldn't take any action as the round began. Moreover, the user doesn't choose [that move] for use" while the move is being used. For example, if a Pokemon uses Dig on one turn, it is still considered to be using Dig on the second turn. The game prevents the Pokemon from choosing a different move such as Protect, which may have a different priority level.

How do I get the TM for Explosion in Platinum ?

TM64 is available at the Veilstone Game Corner, but not through coins. To quote Bulbapedia:

If ten or more bonus rounds are played in a row, talking to the woman behind the counter will yield players TM64 (Explosion). In order to obtain the TM, the player must lose a bonus round sometime after their tenth consecutive round, pressing Start to end the "Slot Session" will not count as having played 10 games in a row and will, in turn, not yield TM64.

Are there any specific requirements to install and play Shoddy Battle besides having the latest version of Java installed?

nope. install it, build a team, go to the ladder, and have fun ;)

how do I attain Choice band?

you can buy it from the battle frontier exchange service counter, but i'm not sure for how much...i think that it may be 48 BP. but if you really want to find out how much, go up to the woman who runs the exchange service and ask to exchange points, and then scroll down until you find choice band; it will then tell you how much it is.

Sorry if this has been answered in some supremely obvious location, but here it goes.

What are the major changes from DPP to HG/SS? Mostly regarding new egg moves and TMs? Any new pokemon that got a sudden boost in usage in OU? UU? (Much like Scizor did in Platinum)
As previously stated, Jynx got Nasty Plot.

Also, Aggron, Donphan, and Nidoking got Head Smash.

Venusaur got Power Whip.

Ambipom got Low Kick.

Victreebel, Cherrim, Drifblim, and Froslass have Weather Ball.

Cloyster has Rock Blast.

Parasect and Kingler can play with Agility.

Mr. Mime also has Nasty Plot.

ExtremeSpeed Dragonite.

Feraligatr can use Aqua Jet now.

Quagsire gets Recover.

Aqua Jet Qwilfish.

Dunsparce has Agility.

Swampert now gets Yawn.

Cacturne can Nasty Plot.

Whiscash, Tropius, and Crawdaunt get Dragon Dance.

Cradily and Armaldo have Curse now.

Huntail gets Super Fang.

Sunflora learns Earth Power.

Nasty Plot Mismagius.

Forretress learns Power Swap.

And that's not even everything!

Got a few questions:
1. Is SD+ES Rayquaza or Pikachu viable in Trick room? I mean, they are not too fast compared to others actually.

2. What are the Special stats for a Lati holding Soul Dew?
Without SD +1 CM=1.5
SD + 1 CM = x2 or 2.25?

how do people teach pokemon moves? does everyone use action replay?

People teach moves through level-up, TMs and HMs and egg moves. It is looked down upon to use any form of cheating so I would assume most people attain moves (and Pokemon, for that matter) legitimately.

items

What is the item that will make your pokemon the slowest - Iron ball or lagging tail?

I think one makes you the last person to attack regardless, but if you had say a timid nature with that item would the decrease in priority in your attack turn, set up weather agaisnt someone who had a macho brace or something?

According to Smogon, Iron Ball reduces speed by 50%, while Lagging Tail and Full Incense just force you to go last.

Note that Lagging Tail ignores the effects of Trick Room.

what is a good way to train for the elite four in HG? Alot of people say victory road but the level 35s give crap XP once you start getting higher level and i need to get my pupitar to level 55 to evolve it.

Train in Victory Road until your team can defeat the 1st member of the Elite Four. At that point, give one of your Pokémon an Amulet Coin and make sure they always get switched in to the battle. It doesn't matter if you lose on the second battle, you will make profit and tons of experience
