Why is Dusknoir OU? He has (around) 10 more HP, 60 more atk, 10 more in each of his defenses, and a few extra moves than the NU Dusclops.

Why is Tentacruel OU? Usage? UU badly needs more spinners, and I can't imagine him being broken in UU, especially now with Venusaur everywhere to absorb Toxic Spikes and threaten with EQ.

Why is Mamoswine OU? I'm curious if he'd be balanced in UU. He has some serious trouble in OU and still has many exploitable weakness if he dropped to UU.

Why is Electivire OU? Inexperienced players? He may well be too powerful for UU and get voted out, but he seems to me a more reasonable drop than Cresselia was.

I'm strongly considering creating a thread focusing on the possibility of pokemon such as these dropping to UU. I'm weary of all of the misused Venusaur, Ambipom, Uxie, and Mismagius (all great UUs, but using Fake Out as your first move does not impress me).

If I were to create such a thread, would I need moderator permission? And should it go in the OU or UU forum?

its usage dude, usage, they are used enough to continue in the OU tier, despite the fact most of then sucks, and really all the pokemons you mentioned are not exactly crappy.

I know it's decided by usage, but I consider that to be insufficient reason to relegate them to OU.

While they may not be poor pokemon, I'm suggesting they may be balanced in UU.

And you didn't answer my last two questions.

Placement in OU, UU, and NU is based solely on usage. Ubers bans Pokemon from OU and BL bans Pokemon from UU. There is no "This Pokemon isn't broken in UU so we'll let it be used there" tier. That's just the way it is.

To answer you other questions, it probably would be a good idea to get a moderator's permision for such a thread, but every mod will just tell you the same thing I did.

question:

we all know the gameboy use 8-bits musics, what bits does the gameboy advance normally use?

also, what exactly are bits?

A bit is a single digit in binary, which means it's either a 1 or a 0. 8 of them together allows you to make any number from 00000000 to 11111111 (255). Not sure how it works with the music though.

What perfect dittos are there out there? I already have lightingfusions modest ditto and I'm looking to get any other ones that are out there sometime this week to help make breeding easier.

if u have pokers on your pokemon and a power item when it goes up a level it should get doble evs right? so how come when i level up with pokers and a power item my evs dont double BUT when i do it with just pokers it doubles
Pokerus does not double EVs during level-ups. It doubles EVs earned AT THE END OF BATTLES THAT GRANT EXPERIENCE. It is only when a pokemon levels up that all those EVs your pokemon earned are finally calculated.

The Power items, by the way, do not double EVs from battle. No, they do better: they add 4.

As an example, let's say you have your pokemon beat the crap out of a Magikarp. This is what the game does:

Player's pokemon defeated a Magikarp.

Magikarp is worth 1 speed EV.

Player's pokemon was holding a Power Anklet. 4 + 1 = 5.

Player's pokemon has Pokerus. 5 x 2 = 10.

Add 10 to Player's pokemon's speed EVs.

Add Magikarp's exp to Player's pokemon's exp.

Has Player's pokemon leveled up? No. Do not recalculate Player's pokemon's effective Speed yet.

Player has fed his pokemon a Rare Candy. Advance Player's pokemon's level by 1. Recalculate effective Speed.

So basically, for the Power item to work, your pokemon needs to be holding on to it during its battles.

What is the BEST possible sandstorm counter team?

Abomasnow used blizzard/grass knot/focus blast!!!
(Insert ground/rock/steel here) was hit super effective.
And they won't have their sp.def to save them. Pherhaps a sub set, so you can hit scarftar switchins with focus blast.

It's all based on usage, as stated above. However, although I'm no real expert, I will attempt to shed a little light on why they're being used so much, and thus why they are OU.

Dusknoir: Dusclops, Dusknoir can actually attack effectively. It gets some damn decent coverage and has the Attack to support it. Its defenses may be only slightly higher than Dusclops's, but Dusclops had high defenses in the first place. Not to mention its value in the odd Trick Room team. Plus, Dusknoir does what Dusclops did in advance, only better. And Dusclops was OU back then. So yeah.

Tentacruel: It gets Rapid Spin, it absorbs Toxic Spikes, it has defenses, and it's not weak to Stealth Rock. I think you get the picture here.

Mamoswine: Insane Attack and a STAB priority move just might have a bit to do with it.

Electivire: Probably IS too powerful for UU. It gets the elemental punches, Cross Chop, and Earthquake, and has the Attack to back them up. Not to mention, all it needs to do is switch into an Electric attack and you got yourself an almost-unstoppable beast on your hands.

Which Milotic?
328 HP/194 Defense/298 Special Attack/286 Special Defense/287 Speed with Choice Scarf or 393 HP/236 Defense/282 Special Attack/286 Special Defense/198 Speed with Life Orb?

My opponent just Psych Upped me after using Leaf Storm several times.
I know Psych Up copies stat changes, but can you use it like that to copy a lack of stat changes and reset your stats to neutral?
I couldn't tell because my HP was so low anyways.

Yeah, if the opponet had no boosts or lowerings, it acts like haze.

oh well, thanks anyway, if anyone else could explain to me how bits work in musics i would appreciate.

Azbycx:

The Sleep Talk description you gave is generally correct, except that Sleep Talk doesn't lose an additional PP on the second turn of Hyper Beam.

My description for Hyper Beam reads: " ... on the second round, user can't take any action and it skips its attack this round."

My description for "User can't take any action" includes the following: "No extra PP is spent ... at the second turn of ... Hyper Beam and equivalent moves."
I copied that description right of the one here on Smogon. If you're right, then the move's description needs some changes =D

Test it? I like the bulkier version, though.

Dusknoir is OU because he has better everything than Dusclops who was OU back in ADV. I don't get what you're trying to say here, though. Are you trying to say that Dusknoir deserves to be bumped down to UU? For what reason?

Tentacruel has fantastic defenses, typing [which allows it to absorb T-Spikes], decent Speed (it's actually good :P), and te ability to lay down T-Spikes of its own.

Mamo has GREAT Attack stat, fantastic coverage with both of its STAB, priority in Ice Shard, immunity to both Sandstorm and Hail damage and decent 110/80/60 Defenses. Yep, Mamo secures its OU stat.

Electivire is OU because of good Attack, Decent Speed, good Mixed Attacking stats, Motor Drive, nice coverage and more than being immune to Electric, it actually greatly benefits from getting hit by them. And why did you compare Cress to Vire? Do they have the same role? Does Cress have the attacking prowess that Vire has? Does Vire have the bulk Cress has? Do you see anyone in OU who completely outclasses Vire for it to be moved to UU, and to an extent, BL? Cress suffers from a competition for a team slot while I don't think Vire does.

You can always start a thread to voice out your opinion on why these pokemon don't "deserve" their OU stats, though I think they perfectly do. However, if you decide to this, be sure you have just enough reasoning or your thread gets locked.

can a mod please lock my RMT, I wish to post a new one without breaking the rules and I'm happy with the criticism i got and the team is as good as its gonna get. Thank you.

Even if I lock your current RMT you'll still have to wait 2 weeks before posting a new one. Next time just PM a RMT mod asking them to lock your thread.
