How usable is this Togepi?

Modest - 16/x/6/28/18/30

Ouch... low defences hurt it... should I use it to breed for better ones? I got it in a trade too. Good thing its male otherwise I wouldn't be able to easily pass down Nasty plot or t-wave >_<

Definitely breed for better. You don't even have one perfect IV, and the defenses are kinda sucky. Togekiss is meant to be kinda defensive.

Yeah, I sorta figured. Well, at least that trade was a good start for my first attempt at IV breeding. =P

Oh, and another question, if I breed the said togepi with Ditto, would I be able to pass down moves or would another actual Togepi be neccessary?

Wait, can togepi even breed or does it have to evolve to do so?

Can Hoothoot/Noctowl (male) who has Roost, breed with a female Skarmory and get a female Skarmory with Roost?

They're in the same group, but in serebii, it doesn't say that Skarmory can get Roost as an egg move.

I know Roost is in TM, which I used already. That's why I'm asking.. but I'm wondering if hoothoot can pass down Roost?

O btw, how do you chain? I saw the whole article on this other site that was with a youtube video, but I don't get it =(

They're in the same group, but in serebii, it doesn't say that Skarmory can get Roost as an egg move.

All moves learned via TM can be passed to the offspring if it can learn the move. For instance, breeding two Swamperts (both with Earthquake) won't give you a Mudkip with Earthquake, because the it can't learn the move. Skarmory, however, learns it via TM, so, breeding your male Noctowl with the Skarmory will result in a Skarmory with Roost. Simple.

Serebii wasn't wrong. It's common knowledge that TM moves can be passed on if the baby is capable of learning it and the male parent has it. As for chaining, some basic rules are to go to the farthest rustling patch, and to only go to patches that rustle in the same way as your original one.

Oh how embarrassing >_<
I read that you should only go for a patch when you see 4 patches or more rustling, and what if it has less then 4? do you use the radar again?

<from the "Look what I bred!" thread, in which I got no answer>

Is a 18-19/0/22/25/29/28 Mild Heatran good?

I was planning on using a Choice Scarf Heatran myself, and trying for trade bait. It reaches 248 Speed, which is what Scarf needs, and has all-around stats. The problem is really Explosion. Does it make that much of a difference, 0 Attack IV? I read somewhere it would only affect 1% or 2%, and Explosion usually overkills anyway...

Neither item is very good. Quick Claw is looked down upon by most players because it's very luck dependent and Enigma Berry just isn't very good in the first place because it requires you to survive a (super-effective) hit before it actually works. If you get hit by something with high attack using Earthquake, for example, there's not much chance for survival. Most Magnezones I've seen have Leftovers, so I suppose that is the preferred item.

I've also seen people use damage-reducing berries (like Shuca or Chople). The problem is they're only one time use, but it could let you fight another day I suppose. Choice Specs might also work for a more offensive one. Maybe Life Orb if you have a Rest-talker set.

Anyone got the D/P pokedex, that has all the 150 Sinnoh-native pokemons to use as a reference for National Dex?

Also, anyone know a good link for trainers that have certain pokemons like Aipom or Cheruby

EDIT : Anyone know what TM the NPC gives when you have 10 shard on route 212?
