When checking a jap pokemon with the pika cheat detector do you have to run pokesav with applocale or could you just run it normally(the names appear in symbols). Is the result still accurate or flawed please answer quickly I really need to know thanks

If you are using pokesav 039, you need not to use appl
If not, yes. appl is needed.

(I would have linked to the beta page, but I can't seem to get to it)

Obviously neither of those are for trick room, but I'm guessing that you could just pick whichever is more appealing to you and replace the nature with Relaxed or Brave to lower speed.

Thanks. I can work from there. I overlooked the SR threat....maybe I should use Blastoise or something as my spinner. x_x *off to research!*

I would still like to know if a split EV spread of 129attk/129spattk sounds like a good idea for this infernape, the analyses don't really split the EVs.

Naive, 30/30/26/31/31/23
ThunderPunch
Close Combat
HP Ice
Flamethrower/Fire Blast

I assume HP counts as a special attack right?

When breeding, a ditto with an everstone passes down the nature approximately 50% of the time to the baby...

But when I was breeding a hippopotus and ditto with everstone, the nature was not even passed down. In fact, I think it was random. The only thing different was that both parents had the same natures (Impish). When I switched Hippopotus's, one with a different nature, the nature of the ditto was passed down like it was supposed to.

So why does it not work when the parents have the same natures?

First off, I would try to breed a better Infernape as that one can't outrun Adamant Dugtrio and all Base 105s. You can still make that one work, though.

Secondly, yes, Hidden Power is a Special attack.

Finally, I would suggest a 132 Atk/136 SpAtk/240 Spd spread. It outruns all non-Scarfed Garchomp and lets Close Combat always OHKO Blissey. However, there's a 1/16 chance that standard Chomps (16 HP EVs) won't be OHKO'd, so you could take 4 from Atk to put in SpAtk, if you wish. You know, that actually sounds like a good idea, now that I think about it. (though you wouldn't have to if the Infernape had a 31 Atk IV)

I don't really know why the Analysis only uses 24 Atk, though. I'd have to do more calcs to figure that out, though...

Well, after doing some research and work, I once again need an answer.

On my Trick room team, would either Blastoise or Cloyster work as a better rapid spin compliment to Porygon2 and Vespiquen? Or is there a better choice altogether? I've got a good idea for a set and spread for both, but I need some advice.

(Once again, I do not play standard OU. Just as a little reminder, especially for the fools who flamed me the time before last. -_-)

Even if I don't like him much, I'd go with Blastoise. Cloyster would just add a Fight and Rock weakness, and Porygon2 and Vespiquen already have problems with those two types (either in UU, OU, Uber or whatever).

Could Fly ever be used successfully in competitive play? Now that I think of it, if a fast Pokémon uses it on the first turn, it avoids a Taunt/damage, scouts that move, and potentially scouts another Pokémon on the opponent's team as he switches to avoid damage.

I've tried using Flame Orb Swellow with fly, Fly the first turn, let the orb take effect, and hit hard, but unfortunately just doesnt go so well. Most of the time, that switch to counter fly is going to be your downfall. Kudos if you can figure out a way to though lol

More like fly -> free setup >_>

You shouldn't fly against a pokemon who can DD, Swords Dance or whatever, and if they switch in a counter then they can potentially set-up quite a lot.

Like say... you use fly, they attack and miss. Then they switch to forretress who gets a free turn of stealth rocks / toxic spikes / rapid spin. Or maybe jolteon who then can T-Bolt your flyer, or can sub-pass / agility.
