[SET COMMENTS]
With an Assault Vest, Alomomola's Special Defense is bolstered, which allows it to act as a powerful defensive pivot. Its defensive capabilities are further improved by Regenerator, enabling it to pivot reliably. Alomomola provides valuable utility for its team in Knock Off, as it can remove the Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon like Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Zapdos so its teammates to break more easily. Mirror Coat deals huge damage and even OHKOes unsuspecting special attackers such as Mega Charizard Y, Tapu Koko, and Tapu Lele that switch in because they can break past non-Assault Vest Alomomola. Flip Turn lets Alomomola safely bring in powerful attackers like Mega Diancie, Tapu Lele, and Urshifu-R. Scald can be used to status opposing Pokemon with burn, while Liquidation is an alternative STAB move that can prevent foes such as Volcarona turn Alomomola into setup fodder.
Alomomola is very valuable on offense and balance teams due to its ability to check a wide variety of Pokemon and bring in its team's attackers via Flip Turn. Alomomola can switch into powerful physical attackers such as Urshifu-R, non-Choice Band Zamazenta, and Hisuian Samurott. Despite this, Alomomola cannot wall some strong physical attackers like Ogerpon-W and Choice Band Zamazenta; therefore, Pokemon that can deal with these foes like Pecharunt and Landorus-T to be valuable partners. In return, Alomomola can easily take on Pokemon they can’t handle like Tapu Lele. Alomomola can take powerful Water-type attacks from Urshifu-R, Hisuian Samurott, and Tapu Fini. It is also able to check powerful special attackers like Gholdengo, Tapu Lele, and Mega Diancie and use Mirror Coat to OHKO them. However, this becomes more difficult to pull off once Alomomola's Assault Vest set is revealed, as Mirror Coat is easy to predict; this makes hiding its set important for picking up OHKOs on unsuspecting special attackers. Alomomola can also struggle with special attacking Electric-types such as Raging Bolt and Tapu Koko, so it appreciates Ground-types like Ting-Lu and specially defensive Gliscor. In return, Alomomola can take powerful Water-type attacks from Urshifu-R, Hisuian Samurott, and Tapu Fini. Due to Alomomola’s reliance on its item to check special attackers, it greatly dislikes having it removed ; therefore, Knock Off absorbers like Gliscor, Mega Scizor, and Mega Venusaur make great partners, and in return, Alomomola can take the Fire-type attacks the latter two dislike and the Water-type attacks Gliscor hates. Alomomola’s defensive capabilities can also be crippled by entry hazards, which leads to hazard removers like Great Tusk, Terapagos, and Landorus-T being valuable. Pokemon with Magic Bounce like Mega Diancie and Hatterene can also help keep hazards off Alomomola's side of the field. Powerful attackers like Zamazenta, Mega Diancie, and Ogerpon-W greatly enjoy Alomomola on their team, as it can safely bring them in on offensive threats like Tapu Lele, Terapagos, and Hisuian Samurott.
