God EQ is the top move even in NU. Also thanks for the list X-Act**!
I'm not surprised. Earthquake is the sort of move that'll be dominant in most metagames, unless someone decides to make a mono-Grass metagame or something.

It's quite unusual that it's Thunder in Ubers to be honest, although I do see why it's so.

And I love how Leaf Blade is on 5.79% in November! Hello Leafeon! :)

Well, when you've got as shallow a movepool as most of these NU Pokemon do, you have to use something.

While I don't play NU, this is still interesting.
I think it is funny how heal order is the listed in the all others category, but it is understandable when roost if much better.
GO LEAFEON.
I also saw Self-Destruct on the list. Who in NU has Self-Destruct, but not Explosion?
A few random things like HP-Bug don't make sense to me, but, as I said, I don't play NU so I don't know what HP-Bug would counter or what would use it.
Good job X-Act.

HP Grass is most used out of all the Hidden Powers? Well hi thar, Entei! Good to see you're relivant in this metagame!

I can see it working as a bulky grass counter of sorts...and theres stuff like Exeggutor, Shiftry and Cacturne around here 4x weak to it.

Return at #4 in October and #3 in November? What could have done this? I just can't figure it out!

That's why Return is so badass in NU.
Leafeon is #1 and commonly carries Return for solid coverage. And Kangaskhan, who ranked #13. Return is great, especially if you run Scrappy (I ran Wish / Protect / Return / Roar on my specially defensive Kangaskhan). Kangaskhan is a pretty cool counter to Haunter.

Anyway, thanks a lot for this X-Act. I enjoy NU immensely and it's nice for it to get stats which are incredibly useful when we previously did not have any.

HP Grass is most used out of all the Hidden Powers? Well hi thar, Entei! Good to see you're relivant in this metagame!
Most fire types, not just Entei, will run HP Grass, as well as various other pokemon. Charizard, Magmortar, and even Nidoqueen and various water types will run it to combat all the ground/water types(specifically Quagsire, who has water absorb) as well as Relicanth.

Earthquake is the most used move in NU, because there are a lot of threatening Fire-Types (Entei, Magmortar), and Poision-types (Skuntank, Nidoqueen).

Bear in mind, the size of the NU meta is... small... to say the least.

What i meant to say in a nice way was that Haunter does not learn the move Focus Blast. I thought I would be kind and bring that to your attention. Thank you for your time and effort in reading this post.

For those who don't realize what Lezowski means, Haunter doesn't get Focus Blast. Only HP Fighting.

But Return is great on anything in NU, as Steel types are uncommon. Thanks for the stats, X-Act. This are really nice to know.

And by the way, not all NU Pokemon have a shallow movepool. I daresay that most don't. :(

Probably worth me coming out of hiding for this.

1) It's fantastic that NU is FINALLY getting some recognition from Smogon. It's a massive victory for the NU'ers who have been playing it since the start, and we are very grateful to Doug for providing a server and statistics.

2) It's worth noting that it's not the first time NU stats have been provided. NU Usage stats for August from the NU Metagame Server (using the tier as per Smogon) were into the thousands of usages for individual Pokemon, as opposed to hundreds.

3) If anybody is interested in the bigger stat base from August, or information about NU in general, PM me or ask any Smogon NU player about 'Project NU'.

4) Have a read through the Introduction to NU article in Smog #4, and watch out for the upcoming update to the metagame in Smog #6!

Thank you for this thread.

^Also, the NU thread has a lot of the stats posted in there, as well as quite a lot of discussion.

Hopefully, if UU gets 'balanced' in the near future people will feel ready to start with NU.

It's good to see this thread getting so much attention. It shows that NU has got a nice little fanbase already.

Hidden Power Grass is run because without it, Entei and Flareon wouldn't be able to touch Relicanth or any Water types.

Scrappy Kangaskhan is pretty cool.
