[Overview]

Bagon is an interesting choice among the Dragon-types in Little Cup; its main selling points are a higher Attack stat than Dratini and a wider movepool than Axew. It is prone to revenge killing from fast Choice Scarf users, and has a low Special Defense stat, but don't let these factors make Bagon go unnoticed. Dragon Dance and a high Attack stat are enough to make Bagon a useful member of a Little Cup team, despite its flaws.

[SET]
name: Dragon Dance
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Outrage
move 3: Fire Fang
move 4: Brick Break / Dragon Claw
item: Life Orb
nature: Jolly
evs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 36 SpD / 196 Spe
ivs: 0 HP

[SET COMMENTS]

One Dragon Dance allows Bagon to outspeed all unboosted Pokemon, as well as Choice Scarf users at 14 Speed such as Snover, turning it into a formidable sweeper. Outrage is an extremely powerful STAB move and is a staple of this set, hitting everything that doesn't resist it very hard. Fire Fang is a good coverage option, as it dents most Steel-types that resist Outrage. Two options exist in the last slot. Brick Break is the main option, as it hits Aron, which can take the two other attacking moves on the set. If Aron isn't a worry, then Dragon Claw is a worthwhile alternative, as it is another STAB and, despite being weaker, doesn't lock Bagon into one move.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A 0 HP IV is used to make Bagon's HP go down to 19, which means it only takes 1 HP of damage from Life Orb recoil. Steel-types can switch in on Outrage with good prediction, so they are the most important threats to get rid of when using Bagon. Magnemite is an exceptional team option to trap and KO most Steel-types than can get in Bagon's way. Choice Scarf users such as Staryu, Chinchou, and Axew can revenge kill Bagon, so using Wynaut can be useful to trap and KO these Pokemon.

[Other Options]

Bagon has almost no other options to consider, as it has a sparse movepool outside of those attacks listed already. A Choice Scarf set is decent, but is mostly outclassed by Axew, which sports higher Attack and Speed stats. Eviolite is a decent option for Bagon, as it can make setting up a Dragon Dance far easier. Hone Claws could be used with Dragon Rush, but Dragon Dance is a vastly superior boosting move. Crunch, Zen Headbutt, and Rock Slide are Bagon's other attacking options, but they offer little additional coverage.

[Checks and Counters]

Steel-types such as Ferroseed can switch in on Outrage, but they fear Fire Fang and Brick Break and must be careful. Snover can't switch in, but can revenge kill with Ice Shard if Bagon is weakened. Scarf Staryu and Chinchou can also revenge kill Bagon with Ice Beam. Drilbur outspeeds Bagon if sand is up, and easily OHKOes if it avoids switching in on Outrage.

[Dream World]

Bagon gets Sheer Force from the Dream World. It would add power to Fire Fang and some of Bagon's lesser coverage options. Despite not doing too much, it isn't useless, and is therefore much better than Rock Head.

I have battled a pair of DD Bagons and Slowpoke always resists even boosted Dragon Claw or Outrage because of its physical bulkyness (w/eviolite) and OHKOes back w/Ice Beam.

Mention it can blow holes for other dragons and vversa for a sweep? Also, it does get Fire Blast/flamethrower and Draco Meteor (not sure if they're legal) but has like no special attack.

Slowpoke really never uses Ice Beam and it doesn't even guarantee a KO anyway. Psychic doesn't even come close. If Slowpoke switches in on a Dragon Dance it loses most of the time.

All the moves you mentioned are legal, V0x, but that Special Attack is miserable. I'm unsure if a "double dragon" strategy would work but if people want me to edit that in I will.

Dragon Dance is cool but I like it choiced sometimes.

name: Bagon of Choice
move 1: Dragon Claw
move 2: Outrage
move 3: Fire Fang
move 4: Brick Break
item: Choice Band/Choice Scarf
nature: Adamant/Jolly
ev's 252 Attack 252 speed 4 HP

I really like this set and how better to privde it than an actual Bagon!

I thought about it but really the only reason I'd use it over Axew would be Brick Break and Fire Fang. Axew's faster and stronger and the Scarf would mostly spam Outrage so I left it out.

rock head double edge would be cool if it weren't the exact same as dragon claw. oh well.

eviolite is good on everything.

jolly should be the first option to always outrun base 14 scarfers (snover).

scarf staryu? really? is that the best you can come up with? scarfchou ice beams it, scarf axew kills it, etc. Drilbur outruns and ohkoes.

can't think of anything else this needs

But it is a good alternative and an analyis should have all viable sets even if it is outdone by another pokemon. Think of the Surpyis factor as well.

It's a pretty simplistic set in that mentioning it in OO isn't really a problem, as it really lacks need for description, not to mention it shares most moves and such as the other set anyway. Of course that's not to say the OP can't add the set in anyway if they so choose, I'll leave it up to debate for a bit longer.

Mention that Eviolite is a bit useful on Bagon, because it allows it to set up a Dragon Dance much easier than without.
