Barbaracle is a powerful sweeper thanks to its great STAB coverage, Tough Claws to boost its Liquidation, and Shell Smash to easily clean through a weakened team or serve as an early-game wallbreaker to weaken bulky Pokemon for its teammates. Protect allows Barbaracle to avoid being revenge killed by users of First Impression such as Golisopod and Sirfetch'd. Low Kick allows Barbaracle to better break Duraludon, which resists its STAB move combination, and OHKO Cobalion after Stealth Rock if using Life Orb. It also guarantees an OHKO on Heliolisk without having to risk missing Stone Edge. Stealth Rock can be run in this slot in combination with Focus Sash, repurposing Barbaracle as a dedicated lead for hyper offense teams that doubles a much better wallbreaker than weaker options such as Cobalion and Alolan Dugtrio—however, running Stealth Rock over another option lowers Barbaracle's effectiveness as a sweeper, as it's unable to set up Stealth Rock and still sweep in most matchups, and Barbaracle lacks utility options like Thunder Wave and Memento that the aforementioned options can provide. Grass Knot lets Barbaracle beat Gastrodon and Quagsire, which otherwise wall it. Life Orb is the preferred item option, as its extra power lets Barbaracle get guaranteed OHKOs on several bulky Pokemon at +2 with Stealth Rock support, like Celebi, Sylveon, and Milotic with Stone Edge and Cobalion and physically defensive Escavalier with Liquidation. Shuca Berry instead lets Barbaracle safely set up on several common users of Earthquake, such as Flygon, Rhyperior, and Gigalith, when supported with Reflect. Chople Berry has similar utility, easing setup against Cobalion. A Jolly nature is chosen in order to outspeed Choice Scarf Flygon after a boost. A Naive nature is optimal for Grass Knot sets, ensuring a +2 Grass Knot OHKOes Gastrodon after Stealth Rock.

Barbaracle appreciates dual screens support in order to reach its full potential, as it can otherwise struggle to set up safely. Xatu is an ideal teammate for this role thanks to Magic Bounce and a Ground immunity, with other moves such as Teleport and Thunder Wave increasing Barbaracle's setup opportunities. As Barbaracle can often barely miss OHKOs on bulkier targets, reliable lead entry hazard setters like Cobalion and Froslass make for great teammates. Barbaracle works well when paired with multiple other setup sweepers, as they can work together to wear down the opponent's defensive backbone, eventually providing an opportunity for one of them to sweep. A few good examples of such teammates are Necrozma, Linoone, and Slurpuff, all of which are great at forcing in and weakening Doublade, one of Barbaracle's best answers. Barbaracle can also work effectively on balanced offense teams, where it fulfils a similar purpose—Nasty Plot Celebi easily fits on these builds and pairs effectively with Barbaracle thanks to its ability to pressure bulky Water-types it struggles with, most notably Gastrodon.

Barbaracle's access to Shell Smash and Stealth Rock make it an effective lead for hyper offensive teams, as it can use Shell Smash to double its Attack and Speed, usually claim at least one KO (there are a lot of mons that can take lead barb on without dropping - coba, milo, rotom etc.), and then set up Stealth Rock or deal massive damage before it faints in order to support its teammates' efforts. not rlly a fan on the wording of this bc of the previous point mainly, since it implies that barb is guaranteed a ko + rocks which isn't really realistic Barbaracle's dual STAB has perfect coverage over the entire tier outside of Duraludon, making it the best attacking option for this set. Tough Claws boosting Liquidation's power makes it Barbaracle's best Ability by far. idt this is needed in previews, tough claws is its only decent ability anyway A Jolly Nature with maximum Speed EVs is chosen in order to outpace common speed control options like Scarf Flygon after a boost. Focus Sash guarantees Barbaracle can survive any attack when used as a lead, greatly improving its consistency.

As mentioned, Stealth Rock Barbaracle's best teammates are those that fit on offensive teams. Xatu is a great example due to its immense support; Magic Bounce deters the opponent from setting up hazards or statusing Barbaracle, its dual screens can greatly ease setup for the rest of the team, and Teleport allows it to switch Barbaracle and other sweepers in safely. Espeon is an alternative option, sacrificing Teleport's safety for a greater offensive presence. i know you were probably implying it but you should mention espeon's speed tier here, it's the main reason to use it over xatu Barbaracle often forces the opponent to let their bulkiest Pokemon, such as Doublade, Sylveon, and bulky Water-types, take heavy damage in order to stop it, which is greatly appreciated by other setup sweepers that may otherwise struggle with those targets. Good examples of such sweepers are Haxorus, Necrozma, Lucario, Flame Charge Incineroar, and Linoone. you're right but you don't need this many examples Shift Gear Toxtricity can apply offensive pressure to the bulky Water-types and Sylveon that Barbaracle forces in, often leading to safe setup or pressuring the opponent to sacrifice their Pokemon.

Barbaracle can be used as a great dedicated lategame sweeper thanks to its great STAB coverage, Tough Claws boosting its Liquidation, and Shell Smash letting it set up and easily clean through a weakened team. Earthquake allows Barbaracle to OHKO Duraludon, the only relevant Pokemon to resist its dual STAB, as well as OHKOing Cobalion lacking Shuca Berry and dealing greater damage to Doublade than Liquidation. Protect is a niche an alternative to Earthquake best used with Focus Sash, it's way better than you're giving it credit for here and is useful on every set allowing Barbaracle to avoid being revenge killed by users of First Impression like Golisopod. Shuca Berry allows Barbaracle to safely set up on several common users of Earthquake, such as Flygon, Haxorus, Rhyperior, and Gigalith, mention that it needs to be behind screens bc it's not super safe otherwise - fine in hax and flygon's case, but rhyp and giga can beat you down with the def drop greatly increasing the number of opportunities it has to sweep. Life Orb Barbaracle is harder to set up, but its extra power guarantees OHKOs on several bulky Pokemon like Celebi, Sylveon, offensive Galarian Weezing, Milotic and Rotom-Wash after Stealth Rock damage, and Shuca Berry Cobalion too many examples again. Focus Sash necessitates teammates with reliable hazard control in order to be effectively used, but its ability to guarantee setup can be valuable. Lum Berry lets Barbaracle set up against more passive Pokemon like Bronzong without fearing status like Scald burns or Toxic.

Barbaracle requires dual screens support in order to reach its full potential as it can otherwise struggle to set up safely. Xatu and Espeon both fill this role effectively due to Magic Bounce- Xatu offers better support via Teleport, allowing it to safely bring a sweeper in, while Espeon boasts a significant offensive presence of its own in order to aid its team in breaking. As Barbaracle can often barely miss OHKOs on bulkier targets, reliable lead hazard setters like Cobalion and Froslass make for great teammates. i really don't think this thing needs two sets. i'm pretty sure you could cut this down MASSIVELY by just slashing stealth rock after eq + tect on the second set, with a mention like "Stealth Rock can be used if no other Pokemon on Barbaracle's team can fit the move, as its offensive presence allows it to reliably set the hazard." might just be me tho, ask qc abt it

Barbaracle is a powerful lategame sweeper thanks to its great STAB coverage, Tough Claws boosting its Liquidation, and Shell Smash letting it set up and easily clean through a weakened team. Protect allows Barbaracle to avoid being revenge killed by users of First Impression such as Choice Band Haxorus, Golisopod, and Sirfetch'd. Low Kick allows Barbaracle to OHKO Duraludon, the only relevant Pokemon to resist its dual STAB This isn't true because Gastrodon is relevant and resists/immune to both of its STABs. Reword it slightly. I would also mention it gives it a reliable way to revenge kill Heliolisk without relying on Stone Edge's accuracy, and Cobalion after a boost. Stealth Rock can also be ran in this slot in combination with Focus Sash, repurposing Barbaracle as a dedicated lead for hyper offense teams. Life Orb's extra power lets Barbaracle get guaranteed OHKOs on several bulky Pokemon like Celebi, Sylveon, and Milotic. Specify after a Shell Smash, also Milo needs to take rocks damage as does Sylv to specify that too Shuca Berry instead lets Barbaracle safely set up on several common users of Earthquake, such as Flygon, Haxorus, Rhyperior, and Gigalith, when supported with Reflect. Mention Chople Berry as an option to let it set up on stuff like Cobalion. Mention how Grass Knot is an option, which can help it break through a weakened Gastrodon and Quagsire, but mention how it is fairly useless outside of these matchups. A Jolly nature is chosen in order to outspeed Choice Scarf Flygon after a boost.

Barbaracle requires appreciates (Barb can def see ways to fit on BO so this simple change helps) dual screens support in order to reach its full potential as it can otherwise struggle to set up safely. Xatu and Espeon both fill this role effectively due to Magic Bounce- Xatu offers better support via Teleport, allowing it to safely bring a sweeper in, Also add it provides a Ground-immunty and potential T-Wave support. while Espeon boasts a significant offensive presence of its own in order to aid its team in breaking. I'd remove this end bit on Espeon because screens set forgoes any SpA investment so Psychic really doesn't do much outside of hitting frail or super-effective targets. As Barbaracle can often barely miss OHKOs on bulkier targets, reliable lead hazard setters like Cobalion and Froslass make for great teammates. Barbaracle works well when paired with multiple other setup sweepers as they can work together to wear down the opponent's defensive backbone, eventually providing an opportunity for one of them to sweep. A few good examples of such teammates are Haxorus, Necrozma, and Linoone. I would mention how all of these Pokemon can weaken or remove Doublade as its one of the few Pokemon that can stomach a boosted hit and OHKO back with CC (Assuming Reflect isn't up anymore).

Mention NP Celebi for its ability to pressure bulky Water-types, Gastrodon being an important one.
1/2 when done good job. Sorry for making you redo this.

Barbaracle is a powerful lategame sweeper thanks to its great STAB coverage, Tough Claws boosting its Liquidation, and Shell Smash letting it set up and easily clean through a weakened team. i'd also comment on how it can serve as a very dangerous early game wallbreaker too, thanks to its limited checks once set up, being able to weaken stuff like Cobalion/Doublade for teammates to take advantage of. Protect allows Barbaracle to avoid being revenge killed by users of First Impression such as Choice Band Haxorus, Golisopod, and Sirfetch'd. Low Kick allows Barbaracle to OHKO Duraludon, which resists its dual STAB, +2 252 Atk Life Orb Tough Claws Barbaracle Low Kick (40 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Duraludon: 226-268 (80.4 - 95.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO and Cobalion after a boost, 252 Atk Life Orb Tough Claws Barbaracle Low Kick (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Cobalion: 307-361 (95 - 111.7%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock (no need for boost if Life Orb) as well as guaranteeing an OHKO on Heliolisk without having to use Stone Edge. talk about how in general this is less necessary on Life Orb sets due to your ability to get through Cobalion anyway, but more useful for Shuca sets that can be checked by Coba. Stealth Rock can also be ran in this slot in combination with Focus Sash, repurposing Barbaracle as a dedicated lead for hyper offense teams, i'd briefly comment on why you would choose to do this on a HO team instead of using Rocks Coba/Dutrio, ie. for the compression allowing you to fit another breaker/cleaner onto team while keeping Barbaracle as a potential breaker depending on matchup or Grass Knot can be ran in order to beat Gastrodon and Quagsire which otherwise wall it. Both of these options, however, detract from Barbaracle's effectiveness as a sweeper in most matchups. Idk how much Grass Knot necessarily detracts from its effectiveness, as Gastrodon usage is really picking up at the moment and LO sets don't need Low Kick, and on Screens teams in particular Protect isn't remotely as necessary. I'd just focus on talking about Rocks on this point honestly. Life Orb's extra power lets Barbaracle get guaranteed OHKOs on several bulky Pokemon, like Celebi, Sylveon, and Milotic, after Stealth Rock. mention how it allows you to OHKO Cobalion, and phys def Escav after Rocks, at +2 with Liquidation Shuca Berry instead lets Barbaracle safely set up on several common users of Earthquake, such as Flygon, Haxorus, Rhyperior, and Gigalith, when supported with Reflect. Chople Berry has similar utility, easing setup against Cobalion. A Jolly nature is chosen in order to outspeed Choice Scarf Flygon after a boost. Mention Naive nature for Grass Knot sets, to ensure that +2 LO Grass Knot always KOs Gastro after Rocks.

Barbaracle appreciates dual screens support in order to reach its full potential as it can otherwise struggle to set up safely. Xatu is an ideal teammate for this role thanks to Magic Bounce and a Ground immunity, with other moves such as Teleport and Thunder Wave increasing Barbaracle's setup opportunities. A few good examples of such teammates are Haxorus, Necrozma, and Linoone, all of which are great at forcing in and weakening Doublade, one of Barbaracle's best answers. Definitely put some mention in this paragraph about how its a viable option on BO teams, as otherwise this Celebi mention seems slightly odd. Nasty Plot Celebi pairs well with Barbaracle thanks to its ability to pressure bulky Water-types it struggles with, most notably Gastrodon.

Low Kick is an especially useful option if running Shuca Berry, as it allows Barbaracle to better break Duraludon, which resists its dual STAB move combination, and OHKO Cobalion after Stealth Rock if using Life Orb. (you're running shuca though, where should i read life orb?) It also guarantees an OHKO on Heliolisk without having to risk missing Stone Edge. Stealth Rock can be ran run in this slot in combination with Focus Sash, repurposing Barbaracle as a dedicated lead for hyper offense teams that doubles a much better wallbreaker than weaker options such as Cobalion and Alolan Dugtrio—however, running Stealth Rock over another option lowers Barbaracle's effectiveness as a sweeper, (AC) as it's unable to set up Stealth Rock and still sweep in most matchups, and Barbaracle lacks utility options like Thunder Wave and Memento that the aforementioned options can provide. Grass Knot lets Barbaracle beat Gastrodon and Quagsire, (AC) which otherwise wall it. Life Orb's is the preferred item option, as its extra power lets Barbaracle get guaranteed OHKOs on several bulky Pokemon at +2 with Stealth Rock support, like Celebi, Sylveon, and Milotic with Stone Edge (RC) and Cobalion and physically defensive Escavalier with Liquidation. Shuca Berry instead lets Barbaracle safely set up on several common users of Earthquake, such as Flygon, Haxorus, Rhyperior, and Gigalith, when supported with Reflect. Chople Berry has similar utility, easing setup against Cobalion. A Jolly nature is chosen in order to outspeed Choice Scarf Flygon after a boost. A Naive nature is optimal for Grass Knot sets, ensuring a +2 Grass Knot OHKOs OHKOes Gastrodon after Stealth Rock.

Barbaracle appreciates dual screens support in order to reach its full potential, (AC) as it can otherwise struggle to set up safely. Barbaracle works well when paired with multiple other setup sweepers, (AC) as they can work together to wear down the opponent's defensive backbone, eventually providing an opportunity for one of them to sweep. A few good examples of such teammates are Haxorus, Necrozma, and Linoone, all of which are great at forcing in and weakening Doublade, one of Barbaracle's best answers.
