name: Rain Sweeper
move 1: Waterfall
move 2: Psychic Fangs
move 3: Close Combat
move 4: Crunch / Substitute
item: Life Orb / Expert Belt / Mystic Water
ability: Swift Swim
nature: Adamant
evs: 68 HP / 252 Atk / 188 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
This set aims to sweep under rain by utilizing Barraskewda's excellent Attack and Speed coupled with Swift Swim. Waterfall is Barraskewda's best STAB move, providing the possibility to flinch opponents and setting up its own rain when Dynamaxed. Psychic Fangs hits Toxapex hard as well as preventing priority from Mimikyu and other revenge killers as Max Mindstorm. Close Combat hits Ferrothorn, Hydreigon, and bulky Normal-types such as Snorlax hard while providing attack boosts when Dynamaxed. Crunch is for coverage versus Dragapult, but Substitute is an alternative as Barraskewda forces many switch-ins. However, keep in mind that Dynamaxing will remove its Substitute. The investment in speed allows Barraskewda to outspeed Gengar while the HP Evs provide it with extra bulk whilst Dynamaxed. In rain, Barraskewda still outspeeds +1 Dragapult and+2 Adamant Hawlucha. This EV spread also allows Barraskewda to live Adamant Life Orb Mimikyu's Play Rough or Shadow Claw plus its own Life Orb recoil. In Addition, it survives Specs Dragapult's Draco Meteor after Dynamaxing.
Good teammates for Barraskewda include common rain team staples such as Pelipper, which sets up rain with Drizzle and can U-Turn into Barraskewda to allow it in freely. Ferrothorn is also an excellent teammate as it resists Water-type moves boosted by rain and helps deal with Mimikyu.
