Baton Pass

Just what can Baton Pass Pass? I know it passes stat boosts, but I also heard it passes Aqua Ring. So, what else does it pass?
 
Substitutes, Aqua Ring, Leech Seed, Ingrain, a Perish Song counter, the effects of Foresight/Miracle Eye, and confusion are also passed.
 
just so evreone knows, I tried baton passing Magnetic Rise, and it didn't work. so Magnetic Rise is not baton passable.
 
Baton Pass used by a Mean Look target will break Mean Look.

Baton Pass used by a Mean Look user will pass the effects, and the target will still be unable to switch. This trick is often used by Umbreon.
 
Pretty sure Baton Pass used by a Mean Look target will trap the next Pokemon as well.
 
This may have been a glitch on Netbattle, but if two pokemon are poisoned, then a toxic counter may also be passed along. That screwed me over once : (
 
Yeah, basically, negative effects and positive effects.

Negative Effects
If you have been Leech Seeded/Attracted/Confused/Cursed(Ghost) by the opponent and you use baton pass, the pokemon that you baton pass to will also be leech seeded/attracted/confused/Cursed. Perish Song is also Baton Passed I believe. I think Mean Look is also Baton Passed but not sure (I mean it wouldn't make sense if it didn't, the opponent that used Mean Look on you is still there).

Positive
Stat Boosts and Stat Debuffs are passed as well. Along with Sub and Aqua Ring. And yeah Mean Looking. Though with Sub, you don't need to worry much about the negative effects above, except for Attract (since that works through sub) and perhaps Curse... not sure if that works through sub though.
 
Theres some other stuff to look at. Focus Energy, for example, would be awesome to pass to something with Sniper or Super Luck if you could.

Yeah, passing Crit. Ups is fun.

Aside from the things most people have mentioned, I want to note that if you baton pass a substitute, the incoming Pokémon is not hit by Spikes/Toxic Spikes/Stealth Rock on that switch in.
 
Another question, Medicham has Baton Pass as an egg move. Would a Medicham with Baton Pass pass his +2 attack boost from Pure Power?
 
No, since Pure Power doesn't actually give +2. It's more like just plain doubling his power. It's nice though, since Medicham can get up to +6 attack on top of Pure Power.

For what, 800%?

Strange, I was told it was just like a free Swords Dance. I thought it was this site, but this site doesn't appear to have it listed in either Traits thread (new or old).
 
Yes (unless I'm mistaken, which very well may be true), for +700%, which translates to Medicham having 800% of what is listed as his attack stat...
Medicham is a beast.

Just to clarify, abilities arent passed, but boosts caused by abilities can be, such as Ninjasks Speed Boost. TBH I cant think of any other examples..

I am going to guess that that trait that Tauros has could theoretically be baton passed probably.. (Dont bet your house on it)

It's a glitch on NetBattle.

tenchi is right about NetBattle keeping you trapped by Mean Look/Spider Web/Block if you use Baton Pass, but for all we know this may not be true in-game or in D/P. It seems likely NetBattle is right though.
