Hey guys! This will be my second thread ever on smogon...a warstory...I am crazy. Well anyway, this is a team I was laddering for my new team Walmart, you can find it in the RMT section (hence second thread.) Back on topic this was one of my best matchesthat really had me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole match. If you want to see Maxiia's team you can scroll down, but that just ruins all of the fun. So without further ado:

Azelf, one of the most popular suicide leads in history. I've seen so many people run this set that I think anything can happen at this point. Mxiia can use stealth rocks, taunt, or use Fire Blast. I figured I should play it safe and clicked Taunt.

Great minds think alike I suppose. We both Taunt, but I have greater speed so being safe can be a good choice sometimes. Now at this point I think to myself, "he's out of comission" and proceed to plan. He has to explode now, so I decide to switch in Gengar and lol in his face.

Oh crap. The one Azelf lead that doesn't run Fire Blast...Or Explosion as far as I know. So my Gengar got completely screwed So what do I do next? This darn Azelf is rotflol right now and I'm swearing under my breath. I tend to play a little conservatively so I decide to send in Vaporeon who really doesnt fear Azelf.
Azelf used Psychic.
Vaporeon lost 35% of its health.

Well first hax strikes in my favor with a would-be Surf OHKO, although nullified due to Focus Sash. Psychic does a decent chunk to Vapy, but I just shrug it off. One more Surf and I'll finally kill that darn Azelf.
Azelf used Stealth Rock.

I celebrate the death of Azelf, with it's last attempt to make a mark with putting up rocks. I don't really mind too much,
I do alright with SR on the field. As my self esteem starts to work it's way back up, it falls just as fast as an anvil coming out of a parachute. Jolteon. So close to Vaporeon yet so far away. I know I can't stay in and eat the obvious thunderbolt, and I just dropped my Flygon for my new suggested Latias. Well Thunderbolt shouldn't to too much to the oddly lovable dragon, so in it goes.

Ouch pretty much sums it up. With Stealth Rock and a sizable chunk gone from Thunderbolt I'm starting to feel uneasy. I know Thunderbolt won't KO anytime soon, so I decide to attack. After concidering a bit, I decide to Draco Meteor. It should make a big dent if he stays out or switches again.

Latias's special attack was harshly lowered.
To my dismay I see another Eevee evo that I think is in a very akward position, but maybe that's just me. I'm glad to see the hefty 54%, but due to the Sp Atk drop I know I can't attack again. Since I'm forced to switch, I think about my options. Gyarados fails to Vapy, my vaporeon is a possible option but I decide against it because of the possibility of HP Electric, but then there's my Specially Bulky Zapdos. Thunderbolt absolutely kills it, and it really can't do much to me. So I finally decide it's his time to shine.

So he decided to scout me out and opted for Protect, nice play. So now Zapos is staring him down ready to Thunderbolt him
in the face which he can do because you practically can't use protect twice. As I'm about to click the button clearly
labled "KILL IT" I realize something. So far maxiia has been a good player, and I think to myself, what if he predicts it
and switches to Jolteon? Sigh, I gotta go thinkin and that has ruined so many battle for me. So I go and click Heat Wave.
It won't do much to Vapy and I'll start kicking myself if he stays in, but it'll do a nice chunk to Jolteon. I finally click the button that is labled "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

Jolteon lost 39% of its health.
My prediction paid off! It didn't KO like I would've liked, but I'm just happy I didn't give it a free HP boost. Intent on killing this Eevee spawn, I click Heat Wave again.

Hmm, not quite, but I'm almost there! Just...one...more...time...

...And he switches. Darn. Well Heat Wave missed which really didn't matter at this point. Now I'm not sure what he's going to do. I'm pretty sure he's gonna try what he did before and switch to jolteon and get a free HP raise, especially due to it's really low HP now. Well, guess what? You're not gonna get that outa me! So I confidently use Heat Wave.

Needless to say I grossly overpredicted. I'm guessing he just gave up on Vapy trying to get Leftovers boost before he died. While I'm telling myself I'm not gonna try to predict again, I happen to look down and realize I have another move I should've used before...I hate my life...

Hidden Power Grass. Wow if I had seen that before I really would've made my life easier on myself. I delight in the sight
of the death of the akward blue poke and I greet the other Eevee evo. I'm gonna like this, Heat Wave in it's face.

Jolteon left it's mark with one last Thunderbolt, but I finally got it. So maxiia sends in one of the best revenge killers in the game. I figure it's about time to say goodbye to Zapdos, so I might as wll go out swingin. Hidden Power Grass.

Darn, I really want Zapdos to go out in a blaze of glory, but we all can't have nice things. Looking back I really
should've expected that, but oh well. So I consider my options. I don't know what item this thing is running. I'm
assuming Choice Scarf, so he's pretty much locked into Sucker Punch. I know, I'll switch to Vapy! Vapy doesn't need
to attack and just stall Sucker Punch out of PP if he stays in...Let's do this.
So I'm expecting another Sucker Punch from the little mole thing (really, how can it learn a punching attack???) so I decide to mess with him and click Wish.

To my delight I see the ever present Gyarados. With or without Zapdos, Vaporeon is my best Gyra counter, since I run
HP Electric. Most Gyarados with Stone Edge, which even after 1 DD does about 28%, Earthquake about 26%. I click Hidden
Power and expect a KO.

Substitute? Wait, Substitute on a Gyarados...That must mean SubBounce. Of course it's the exact same spread of my Gyarados. Ugh, I'm not happy with this event, but as long as I take it down it won't matter too much. I click Hidden Power one last time for the KO, unless he Subs again. I just wanna wear him down and give him no chance to Dragon Dance.

Alright, good prediction on Maxiia's part, well, I guess the Hidden Power
was kinda obvious. So Dugtrio gets in for free
but forgets about Vapy's massive defenses. I'm expecting an Earthquake or a switch. I'm getting ready to laugh at whatever he does. I click Surf to scout or KO.

You gotta love Vapy, he can basically just shrug off any attack thrown at it. It takes 39% from Earthquake and I just
think I can Wish that off at some point. So the maxiia sends out the giant blue metal psychic spider from hell. Of all
my attacks, Surf would do the most damage. Away we go!

Ouch, 61% is a lot of damage, I was expecting an Earthquake or something. So I really don't want vapy to die yet, He's
been so helpful this match I don't want to lose him. I decide to protect to get Leftovers help.

At 18%, I know for a fact that Thunderpunch will kill me. I ponder for a minute, and then decide to send back in the big
red dragon, Latias. She should be able to take a Thunderpunch. Good luck!

Alright, Latias at this point is death fodder, so I being really retarded instead of using Surf I use Trick. I really don't know what I was thinking, but I thought it might help.

At this point I didn't realize that he used Meteor Mash, I thought he used ThunderPunch. Not realizing this, I almost type
gg. I have three pokemon left: Crobat, Vaporeon, and Gyarados, all of which will die to a ThunderPunch from that monster.
Maxiia literally won the battle for me right in that turn. Thunderpunch would've killed me. Still not realizing, I figure
I should hang in there as long as I can, so I protect.

I think it was about this point I actually realized he was locked into Meteor Mash. Thank you God!!! I still might be
able to win this! Well Vapy is done, which leaves me with Crobat, I want to save Gyarados for the end. I think I tried to
Surf here but I knew I was outspead anyway so it really didnt matter.

So now Crobat is in. I can't taunt because well obviously he's locked into Meteor Mash, and right about here I'd use
Hynosis, but right before this match I exchanged it for Roost...Well the only real option I have here is to Brave Bird
and pray it does some kind of damage.

This is why Crobat is such a beast. He can outrun and KO (well kinda) a scarfed Metagross. This is awesome. He sends out
his own SubBounce Gyarados and I am counting Crobat for dead right now anyway, so Brave Bird again!

So I send out my Gyarados as a last resort. Here's where it's epic: out last pokes, both Gyradoses, both SubBounce, wow,
so much suspence. I know how this Gyrados plays so I expect a Substitute. I figure while's he's doing that I can start stat-upping. Dragon Dance it is.

Hmm, I was a little off, but I still am undamaged and stronger while the giant dragon fish with no wings bounces into the air. This turn was pretty easy, I know I'm faster thanks to DD so I'll just substitute to avoid damage.

And the catchy name for this battle "bounced" into my head (no pun intended) and I'm in a pretty good spot. I have my sub
and my stats are still higher than mxiia's. Let's DD again and see what happens.

So mxiia finally decides to attack and breaks my sub, and I just stat up again. I don't have enough HP to Sub up again,
So I'm forced to attack. I don't want to bounce because I don't want to give him an extra turn to do anything, so I
decide to use Waterfall to break his sub.

afterward and he gave me permission to warstory this match. So close, mxiaa! You almost had me.
