Also, putting up a request for a 2v2 doubles, where I hope to use one of my lesser used Pokémon (you can probably guess the other I'll be using).

Hey, flavor matches. Aren't those great?

Elemental Battle: Poison
Beneath the streets of Goldenrod lies a world of its own.

A tunnel snakes for roughly two kilometers under the city. Lined with bricks and well lit with music playing in the air, it's a rather inviting place despite its elevation. Citizens come and go to buy clothing or luxury goods. Trainers come to visit the best Pokemon service and supply shops around, or participate in occasional tournaments the tunnel owners sanction. From time to time there's even a less than scrupulous breeder willing to sell valuable Pokemon so long as security isn't watching.

But despite all of the people, it took a while for the notice to be found. As near as anyone can tell, it just appeared one day on a bulletin board above a bench, tucked in to a dead end branching from the main passage. In its entirety it contained three lines of text and a phone number: "Seeking Poison-type masters. Large prize available. Contact at number below."

Once found, it became a curiosity among the trainers who frequented the tunnel. Who would make such a request, and why? Several curious trainers tried to call the number, of course, but no one ever picked up. And then, one night, the message was taken down with equally little explanation.

Only two people were ever called back. They were given instructions to come to the center of the tunnel at two in the morning, well past closing hours. And, after curiosity or greed won out over initial hesitation, they agreed to come.

Full arena details will become available when the battle thread is posted. Flavor orders and strategies will be heavily encouraged and the match will take place in the Goldenrod Tunnel.

This is the moment you have all. Been. Waiting. For. Folks, I present to you - The Rock!!!!
Wait, not that wrestling guy. Ahem, anyway.... I challenge Ooraloo and @deadfox081!!!

Objective 1: To showcase the Rock Gym.
Objective 2: Practicing at being a Rock Gym Leader.
Objective 3: To find out how broken is the loopholes that require fixing in Rock Gym arena.

Format
  • 4 vs 4 Doubles, GL B6P4
  • 96-hour DQ (once someone goes over that, I'll usually leave a VM asking them to look at it. If their recent activity is twice over the time, a straight no-warning DQ may be requested by opponent)
  • 2 Abilities (Rock GL must prioritise Solid Rock and Rock Head over other Abilities present)
  • 2/5 Recoveries/Chills
  • 7 Substitutions per round (excluding KO subs of course)
  • 1 Mega-Evolution
  • Switch = OK
  • Items = ALL
  • Turn Order = COIN-FLIP
Arena mechanics
  1. All Rock-type Pokemons gain the effects of Sticky Hold if and only if they are holding their Signature Items.
  2. All Rock-types get Solid Rock and Rock Head if they don't already have it. Solid Rock does not stack if it is already present.
  3. In Sandstorms, Rock-types gain -1 BAP from incoming Physical Attacks in addition to the original -2 BAP from Special Attacks.
  4. All defensive moves listed under Rock STAB gain +4 Priority instead of the original +1.
  5. No external rock, water, or grass sources.
  6. No seismic combos allowed.
  7. Nature Power calls Ancient Power, and Secret Power may lower Speed by one (1) stage.
Format
  • 4 vs 4 Doubles, GL B7P4

  • 0 Mega-Evolutions
  • Switch = OK
  • Items = ALL
  • Turn Order = COIN FLIP
Arena mechanics
  1. Rock-type Pokemons automatically gain the effects of their Signature Items when unencumbered.
  2. All Rock-types get Solid Rock and Rock Head in addition, if they don't already have it. Arena-bestowed Solid Rock and Rock Head may not be affected by any Ability-altering mechanics such as Mould Breaker, Worry Seed, Skill Swap, etc.
  3. In Sandstorms, all attacks against Rock-types also suffer -2 BAP, instead of just Special Attacks.
  4. All defensive moves listed under Rock STAB gain +4 Priority instead of the original +1. Pokemons whose primary STAB is Rock-type automatically gain knowledge of all moves listed in the STAB description, except Multi-target, Priority, or Damaging moves (GET FOR FREE list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Harden, Iron Defense, Stockpile, Withdraw) (DO NOT GET list: Detect, Quick Guard, Wide Guard, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash).
