The disgruntled Monferno retreats into the lush vegetation surrounding it, while the unconscious Mawile is picked up by Sarah.
"Ah, this little troublemaker again... I'll just bring it to the nearest Nursery. Stay safe out there, and thank you for your help again!"
She waves at you as she walks away and you wave back.
That was certainly an encounter.
Now on your own, you press on. Climate control awaits you, and it certainly sounds more exciting than juice, right?
The next set of rooms is interesting, if uneventful. Scientists do scientific things, sometimes followed by cohorts of students scribbling on a notepad. Pokémon help, or are studied, or chase their assigned scientist around. Not much to note here, though you take the time to play with a handful of Growlithes that appeared out of nowhere but very enthusiastically manifest their intention to play with you. A scientist soon comes to round them up, apologizing for the trouble and shepherding them towards an adjacent lab.
Finally, you come across the person you were supposed to see: Pr. Wicke, a reference within both the scientific world and the Aether Foundation itself. Rumored to have a heart as big as her... well, a very big heart, she is also gifted with an incredibly sharp intellect. And she'll be your guide today!
However, something ain't right. Instead of her usual look (from what you've seen online), she appeared to be anxious, looking around in a hurry and sometimes stopping to fidget.
She spots you and her face shifts to half relief and half anguish.
"Ah, young Trainer! I know you were supposed to take part in an experiment under my juridiction, but, um... You see..."
She fidgets and fidgets, before finally pointing at an Alolan Exeggutor just chilling there.
"For some reason, my... a very important item of mine ended up on top of that Exeggutor... I know it is probably uncouth of me, but could I ask you to retrieve it? I couldn't possibly conduct an experiment in that state! And, uh, could you not look at it too much?"
You try to ask what it is you're supposed to retrieve, but Wicke blushes more and more and refuses to answer. Uh, great.

We need to shake that item free!
We Quagsire ram our heads into boats all of the time. I suppose I can do something similar here.
Ugh, why do I never get to do the fun part?!
Callit the Quagsire will repeatedly use Body Slam on the Alolan Exeggutor until it is no longer able to maintain control over the item. When the item is freed from the Alolan Exeggutor, Rage the Mawile will catch it in her jaws with Vice Grip before it would hit the ground.
Quagsire takes a few steps back... before launching itself at the Alolan Exeggutor! It crashes against it! The great tree Pokémon wobbles, and you look up expectantly... but nothing comes down.
Quagsire launches itself again! It crashes again! Exeggutor wobbles again!
But nothing comes down.
It appears that third time's the charm, though, as the impact shakes Exeggutor hard enough for a small, rectangular item to briefly take flight. You manage to spot a few human-looking silhouettes and just the smallest flash of purple before Mawile positions itself, jumps, and cleanly catches it in its jaw.
It's... not what you might have expected. It looks like a photograph frame, though the picture faces the ground so you can't see it. Wicke snatches it with a speed you wouldn't have imagined from such a woman, wipes off the saliva, and frenetically checks for damage.
Seemingly finidng none, she finally breathes a sigh of relief.
"Oh thank Arceus, you guys are still in one piece..."
Success! +2 TC
She turns back to you and smiles, her attitude completely different. She's now full of poise and warmth, very tranquil.
"Thank you, young Trainer. You have my apologies for this incident, but be assured that I am now fully operational. Please, let us begin at once."
However, as she turns to exit the room, a pouty Misdreavus suddenly manifests itself.
"Aw, no fun. I wanted to see how she'd get it back... I had a good laugh at that stupid Exeggutor, but it's not enough. Give it back!"
