With your last Pokémon KO, Furfrou struts away, head held high, its white fur clean of anything that would tarnish it. Wicke scoots over towards you.
"This was... a bit awkward, but I have what I wanted here, so let's just move on, dear, yes?"
A glance at Alolan Exeggutor reveals that Misdreavus fell asleep, so it won't be able to cause anymore trouble for at least a few hours. A shame you can't get revenge for this little incident, but you've got more pressing matters to attend to.
Wicke grabs you by the hand, probably feeling guilty about dragging you in this mess, and gently guides you through a few rooms.

"Ah, there we are!" she exclaims.
This room is quite peculiar: it's actually divided in two. One part has heat hazes coming from the ground, the other sees tiny ice crystals floating in the air. Fortunately, a thick glass panel protects you from both. Looking up, you can see an Arcanine and a Froslass, each at one end, channeling energy into some strange device.
"Let's begin." Wicke says as she signals to a scientist.
Soon both a Vulpix and Alolan Vulpix are introduced into the room. Naturally, each one runs to its preferred climate. However, a few seconds after, two openings drop food into opposite corners.
"We're trying to encourage the Vulpixes to brave hostile climate." Wicke says. "We want to see whether this has an immediate effect on their geentic code. Could you watch the Kantonian Vulpix for me? You're more familiar with that species that I do."
The Vulpix seems to have sensed food. It slowly moves to the border between the climates, and hesitantly paws at the thin sheet of ice before retracting its leg. Still, it decides to go for it anyway, shivering in the snow. It doesn't seem used to icy weather, as you can see it almost slip and crash multpile times... but it does get to the food and gobbles it up before quickly retreating towards the heated area.
You gather your findings and tell Wicke everything relevant. She nods, halfway lost in her mind.
"I see... It's been two weeks already, they are starting to be doing better. We need to continue the experiment, though."
She looks you in the eye, radiating the confidence of an expert.
"Would you assist us further in our research? Hands-on experience like yours would be invaluable in this case. I would like for you to come here for the next... let's say two months. We could get you a badge very soon, and we will even compensate you for your work."
You think. One the one hand, you get to see Sarah and Wicke everyday, with the added bonus of exploring the Aether Foundation's secret labs. On the other hand, you'd rather not see any Furfrou anytime soon.
Eh, who cares about poodles when you've got this opportunity? You nod enthustiastically, and are rewarded with Wicke's bright smile. She claps.
"Excellent! I will arrange for everything! In the meantime," she says while writing on her notebook and tearing the page, "here's my phone number. Call me if you're having trouble with anything!"
She offers to escort you back to the entrance, and you happily accept. You spot Sarah on the way back and wave at her. She waves back.
Maybe today wasn't that bad, actually... Well, time to look for anti-ghost measures once you get back home!

The beach! It's a wonderful place where magic can happen, and as the summer is well underway, you decide it's high time to get some sea action. And boy does the beachside near your place deliver! Sprawling sand that doesn't look coarse, rough or irritating in the slightest! Azure waters, ready for you to dive in! And the flaming hot ball of the sun in the sky, chasing away all but the most persistent of clouds! What a day! You only had enough room for two Pokémon in your stuff, but it's alright to play favorites for a day, right?

You quickly get past the traditional souvenir shops, outhouses and restaurants one will usually find near beaches, before finally arriving at what seems like a good spot to lay your towel. You let your Pokémon out for them to benefit from the revigorating sea air (I'm sure Metagross won't mind salty wind, it's not like it's made of metal or something) and decide to go for a tan yourself.
The sloshing of the sea already seems to soothe you, as you take in the warm rays of the sun. You can finally feel your thoughts slowing, your mind going blank, your head becoming empty, your-

Yeah you've got a bad case of heatstroke on hand. Next time you should remember to bring in an umbrella, but for now perhaps your Pokémon could help you not overheat to death?

TheEver how will you heal from your heatstroke?

"Ugh, it's so hot..."

:bw/salamence:
"Have no fear! I will be your shield!"

:bw/metagross:
"And I will use my extensive cooling system."

Icarus the Salamence will use their large wingspan (biology) to provide shade. Perma the Metagross will use Icy Wind (move) to cool me down.

As soon as they see you in trouble, your Pokémon rush to your aid. Salamence positions itself between the sun and you, offering much needed shade and reducing the amount of heat your body absorbs.
Metagross, meanwhile, has started producing cool air, and it's gently cooling the area around you down.
Bit by bit, you can feel your senses coming back to you. It takes several minutes, but you are in no danger anymore.

Success! +2 RPT

As you are about to get yourself a nice refreshing drink, however, something moves next to your towel.
:vikavolt: "Hey! I wasn't done taking in some warmth! Do you want me to freeze to death, or something?"

From the corner of your eye, you also spot an angry-looking Chandelure, hovering towards you.

:chandelure: "I was here to enjoy the scorching heat of the summer, and I end up with chills up my lantern! Do you have any idea how unpleasant that is?! I'll burn you down!"

Vikavolt grumbles back into the sand, and Chandelure hovers back to its own beach day, probably about to scorch poor innocent passerbys or something.
You decide to do the same (minus the passerby scorching part), and lay down on your towel, enjoying the sounds of the sea, Salamence guarding you against the ever blazing sun.
But you're bored.
A trip to the sea should mean fun, and while tanning is nice, it's not exactly the most thrilling activity.
Fortunately, you know of something else you can do to bring yourself fun. It's sand castle time!
With the help of your Pokémon, you start building an actual castle made of sand, with details like little crenels and all. It's very cute, and would likely make any medieval fan swoon.
That said, building a sand castle isn't without its risks. For example, as you were about to gather a handful of sand, it escaped your reach by falling into the hole that seemingly appeared at your feet.
Ah.
You fall into the simili-quicksand, only to find yourself in some sort of underground burrow. The sand apparently closed the hole so it's pitch black, but you hear shifting sand around you.
And also... something else. Something that also shifts, but in a less natural way. A more... precise way.
You dearly hope it's only the Vikavolt from about seeking revenge, because you don't really want to think about the alternatives. You should probably get out fast.

TheEver how will you exit the sand burrow?

"I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere."

:xy/metagross:
"Then let's move it."

:xy/salamence:
"How did you even fall in that hole anyway?"

:metagross: Perma the Metagross will use Telekinesis (move) to lift the sand into the air to unbury me. :salamence: Icarus the Salamence will use Strength (move) to lift me out of the hole.

With but a flicker, Metagross uses its psychic powers to create a hole in the layer of sand above you. The blue sky greets you again, and the only thing left to meet it is exiting the burrow.
Fortunately, Salamence is strong enough to carry you out, half-climbing and half-flying. Metagross soon follows suit, floating out and letting go of its telekinetic hold on the sand the moment everyone is safe.

Success! +2 RPT

Sand rushes back to fill the hole, free from external forces, but that has an unintended consequence.
:rillaboom: "Mama! Why did you destroy my castle?"
A teary-eyed Rillaboom is looking at its partially collapsed sand castle a few meters away. The flowing sand must have disrupted the structure, leading to a collapse.
Wait.
Mama?
You're confused, but what's even moer confusing is that the Rillaboom isn't looking sadly at you. It's looking sadly at your Salamence.

:rillaboom: "And it was so nice, too! Waaaaaah!"
Before you can gather your throughts, a shadow passes over you.
:salamence: "WHO MESSED WITH MY CHILD?! WAS THAT YOU?!"
Ah. This explains that. You would give much to see what the adoption papers look like, though.
