Resource BBP Bug and Feedback Thread - Generation 9 Edition!

page 27:

It looks to me like Primordial Sea's "Rain created by the user..." effect is a continuous effect like Cute Charm, so that disrupting Kyogre's ability would turn it into normal rain which can be interacted with in normal ways and allows fire attacks. Is that correct?
Also, the arena in Kyogre/Groudon raid is passively generating rain/sun that can't be discarded; so it appears that the primals never create their special weather (they can't create a condition with the same name as an already-present condition.) Is that correct?
moved primal weathers to the creating effect, off of the ongoing effect

weirdly, Delta Stream already had this correct templating.

the line "While here: The weather is Sun. Non-Sun Weather can't be created." would let you create "Sun named "Desolation"" just fine, but this isn't a super clear interaction.

another good reason to proliferate explicit "stacks with other X conditions" phrasing so that i can change "you can't stack exact same name" into "you can't stack if any names are shared". eventually...

Should pressure uber work vs ubers in realgams? They do not technically cost a tech to send out but this feels wrong.. On the flip side of things, should pressure uber work against ubers in raid?
it's phrased the way it is on purpose. you can bring just something different. the NPC can't

Does "Overheat x2" used by a Contrary mon raise their SpA by 2 or 4?
Relevant text: "If this move would raise the stages of the user or their allies, or lower the stages of any opponents; instead, it changes those stages by [N] times (x[N]) as much."

Also, this might conceivably be intended but Groudon has Overheat x2 on both the 4 and 7 AP indicators.
2.10c causes these replacement effects to replace in timestamp order. the venue ruleset seemed logically "older than the arena, even" but i can say so explicitly

Darmanitan-Galar-Zen seems to be inheriting its movepool from Darmanitan-Zen as opposed to Darmanitan-Galar

should purge conditions be able to remove dyanmax and terastral?
no. (soon)

a pokemon with no intent (for example because the order post did not contain a main order for that step, or because they are asleep and received an order to use a normal move), which therefore will use struggle, in fact has no intent.
therefore it is very difficult to sub for this, and in particular "if X is to use struggle" (or "if X is to use a command" or "if X is to use a physical action") does not trigger in this case. players could use orders like "Court Change" (without knowing court change) to get around subs like that.

(proposed remedy: fill all intent slots with struggle before beginning to give out intents as normal. this should be separate from receiving intents, so that even sleeping pokemon have a struggle intent)
i'll think on how to phrase this in 10.6 such that we don't confuse players with "no intent vs. intent can't change" interactions.

"giving" intent to struggle is not something i want to conflate (phrasing-wise) with mons receiving "real" intent"

Will-O-Wisp seems to be missing the #burn and #status-inflicting tags

Additionally, Default step count in session rules is listed in the handbook as 3, but this was patched to 2.

Additionally, again, is it possible to have 5.1 in the handbook updated to account for disciplines? It still has nature information.
did, did, and todo

We have come to the realisation that Eevee can't actually click it's sig Z-Move for quite some time even with all the boxes checked
did (restriction text of evoboost)

Should meteor beam and electro shot have the stat-raising tags?
no, they differ too much from moves like nasty plot

Why is wide-guard 100% accuracy?

Does haze work with macho brace?
consensus seems to be reaching "yes but maybe shouldn't" based on the distinction that macho brace cares if an action increases stat stages, and setting a stat stage can be increasing it even if it isn't raising it.

Unsure where the discussion will end but at the very least 7.6 is not clear enough to head off a 10 minute head scratching.
soon

Feedback: I was looking at signing up for a Subway to try making a snow team/Ninetales-Alola work, in significant part because Subway is the facility that's intended to be "just play what you want" instead of counterteaming, but Emmet's Ubers make it really unappealing (in this case Solgaleo specifically would auto win.) Even if he had to pick at random, I'd still not feel like I could reasonably bring a snow team there, 1/6 to instantly lose is pretty bad.
i think a9 is good enough, or can be made good enough, to justify trying

Can you baton pass Terastral?
no. did.

Park Balls only work on Pokemon who create or have Decoys, but the Wild condition prevents payment of HP costs, so this is basically never going to come up. Might be worth making them do something else?
soon

Order Up still has durations listed on it
soon

Type berries say they last for 1 round, but as far as I know the last patch notes lasted it as until leaving play and I don't think there was a more recent version.

Unsure what the intent is right now.
soon

berserk and anger shell still have a duration to their stat boosts

I believe Eye of the Storm would also prevent effects such as the tornadus-team's Flame Body or Berserk or Poison Point or whatever abilities activating. Unsure if this is how it works and/or how it's intended to work

The interaction between rest and sleep talk feels really strong right now.
It is hard to imagine spending a full action to apply a status at the moment, when the new sleep talk functionally makes rest a 5 en move that heals 20 and clears all status.

That is a shame when major status are the most supported non attack method of interacting with the opponent on cart.

By TheEver request, a list of the remaining mentions of Toxin:
  • The ability Synchronize
  • The ability Toxic Chain
  • The item Toxic Orb
  • Reminder text on the conditions Poison and Poison (Irregular)
  • The condition Corroded
  • The condition Toxin (obviously)
  • The condition Toxic Spikes
  • The type Poison (on the typechart)
The following moves also still have the #Toxin tag, which I'm not sure whether we're removing:
  • Smog (Fog)
  • Toxic

Was looking at the loyal 3 raid and noticed a strange interaction due to the wording of this ability. my understanding is that the ability only triggers if either Pecharunt inflicts the poison, or if Pecharunt is benched and a Toxic Chain user inflicted the poison, which leads to some strange interactions if I'm reading it right

For example, if you were playing doubles with Pecharunt and Fezandipiti and Fezandipiti poisoned an opponent, Pecharunt would not be benched and would not have inflicted the poison, which would mean Puppeteer would do nothing I think

More relevantly, in the actual loyal 3 raid itself, by this wording if the loyal 3 inflict poison in phase 1, pecharunt's Poison Puppeteer doesn't do anything with those poisons in phase 2, because Pecharunt is not benched

Despite being patched, Sleep Talk's DAT entry still has a 4 EN cost.

there's a couple mons in facilities (The mega manectric, lucario, and houndoom in Howling Pack Valley, and the Ursaluna-Bloodmoon in Scar Artist) that have both the boss trait and the wild trait.

The subject's actions cost nothing and cannot miss.
This is in boss immunities

The subject can't pay costs that require Fainting or payment of HP.
This is in wild

Which takes priority here? I can only assume that it's wild that overrides the boss traits, because otherwise that means those mons can use substitute without spending EN or HP which feels silly

Is Focus Energy and Laser Focus being inconsistent intentional? I remember them both being +3 crit stages, except it looks like Focus Energy is now +2, with no mention of the move in patch notes from what I can find, and they're also phrased very differently, Focus Energy just raises the user's crit stage and Laser Focus creates a condition with a duration that raises the user's crit stage.

Does ordering form shift when entering play give you a "Beat" condition from metronome? I read it as yes, but I believe all other sources of actionless beats were exterminated with extreme prejudiced and this one likely should be as well.
1786978922479.png
.

the form shift is being performed as a result of a triggered effect

edit: i suppose I could decouple form-shift-on-entry from the actual form shift command anyway

the tag #Fog only covers the alternative modes of these moves. for example, Leaf Tornado is not tagged #Fog, while Leaf Tornado (Fog) is. since the (Fog) version of the moves aren't listed on learnsets, it seems to me like the only pokemon that could qualify for this boons are ones that learn Mist because mist is a fog without an alternate mode required. unsure if this is intended or not because flavorwise mist feels very suicune, but i wanted to point it out in case it wasn't

also, the moves acid and acid spray say they inflict "corrosion," while the condition is called "corroded"

The Self-Perfecting Beast-Slaying Machine! has Smog (Fog) on Poison Memory, but with the new version of Smog (Fog) this is completely useless.
