Violet the Salazzle

Background: Definition of Tsundere, Violet is a mischievous Salazzle, engaging in physical trickery with those who get close to it. In fact, it only plays these pranks on those who it considers a friend, and is otherwise cold and distant to others. Once Violet forms a bond, it gets paradoxical in its trickery - if it would trip you, it would then feel bad that you fell and come to your side to make sure you didn't get too hurt. And once you're up and okay, it would cease its tender attitude and go back to looking for an opportunity to pull one over on you again. But oh, don't let yourself be pranked by anyone else! If Violet sees someone messing with its friends, it flares up and intervenes right away, mercilessly! Makes you wanna ask the question "Who hurt you?"
Merit: Always on the lookout in the immediate surroundings, serving as a wonderful scout.

Background: The Mage's Pokemon are mostly artificial constructs, expressing parts of him in a form native to this land; his emotions, his power... Then there are the Harbingers, the pantheon of this land, which Keriel yet seeks to collect for his own purposes. The Will Beyond Stars is of another kind entirely - it came to him unbidden one starry night, as though responding unbidden to a mere thought. Of what might be out there, and of the dominion he might one day seek. For the moment, it is content at his side; the Mage is exploring whether it might be possible to use its symbiotic properties safely, to fight on his own terms.
Today, though, it is here for another reason; the Mage got a letter in the mail complaining about a lack of a Trainer license. Background:
In the rolling skies of Ivory, hovering for centuries, Edwin floated serenely. His heart was as vast as the skies he roamed. His gentle, wise eyes had seen generations rise, shine, and eventually meld with nature; he's become a bit of a folk hero. Edwin would find himself descending gently to pay visit to those he passed over in frequent waves. Upon witnessing his presence, foretold by a dark spot coalescing over predetermined mounds and bumps as impromptu landing zones, children would squeal in joy and scurry to the hilltops, where Edwin radiated peace as he floated down to greet them all. The little ones would gather around him, playing with the fluff on his body and writing in books, their eyes wide with wonder and hope for the future. He regaled them with tales of adventure, misfortune, repentance, magic, and the beauty of soaring after one's dreams. However, there were times in Edwin's expansive life where darkness would run rampant, and individuals of malice would encroach upon the innocence of those he watches over. Nobody is brave enough to recount the stories of what happens to those people. * Every year, to inspire goodwill and educational success, Edwin would pay visits to various school districts within the first week, giving aid where necessary, and accompanying students on their travels. This year is no different.

Background:

Gawain styles himself an example for all of the children of the school to learn life's important lessons from. If he says it enough, he'll believe it.​

He knows the score: Big kids pick on weak ones, weak ones do what they've gotta do to get by. Gawain was on the short end, and it made him tough. Taught him the way things work. Taught him to look after himself—all of the most important skills he knows. Like fighting.​

The best way to teach is by doing, he figures. He knows better than to be the first attendee to start trouble; and he knows for sure that he won't have to wait long to be the second. The moment the first unsuspecting would-be bully rears their ugly head, Gawain'll be there to show them that size isn't everything. And then? He'll have the rep he needs to coast passed trouble for the rest of the year, easy as can be. Once everyone knows not to mess with him, he'll never have to fight at all.​

Name Etymology:
Nephew of King Arthur and a Knight of the Round Table. He is depicted as a compassionate warrior who serves as his king's trusted confidant.

Attitude and Motive:
Easily slighted, and quick to defend his ego. He believes strongly in the power of reputation.

"Honor demands it!"

Background:
Gawain is another adoptee from a life of feral urban scavenging. On his own, he carved out a small territory of his own in the alleys of Lou's hometown, never wandering without his trusty bone club. He would often clash with Dagda and his posse, claiming what food he could. His refusal to back down, even when outnumbered, earned him quite a few lumps he still resents. Now, he's expected to work alongside his former competitors. Gawain's physical scrapes have long since healed, but his wounded pride shows no sign of mending any time soon.
