I actually saw the same gimmick Eelektross set that I posted being used on Eelektrik (Second-stage's name). It was pretty much this:

Like I said... Its good even in ou... The reason I use this guy over Tangrowth is because he is just as bulky, but actually faster than Tangrowth. He is fast enough to speed tie with plenty of other tanks such as Porygon2 and swampert (though most swampert arent staying in against grass types). Noteable things that it will outspeed include chansey/blissey, Machamp, Gorebyss, Azumarill, Donphan, Hipowdon, all the Regis.... you get the picture. Being that it has a lower base hp than tangrowth, it will also regain more hp from leech seed (percentagewise.... is that even a word?), esspecially on things like chansey in uu. Regenerator actually makes him enjoy switching out. Basically this guy sets up the rest of your team so well...

My real question is this.... Being that this guy has got some great attack stats, I was wondering if Fraxure is viable in the uu tier as a bulky dragon dancer? As long as he gets @ least one dd off he can destroy alot of stuff and even outspeed alot of stuff in uu

I posted something similar a while ago in the OU forum and someone pointed out that Shelgon doesn't get Dragon Tail... Wish/Roar/Toxic/Dragon Claw could work though.
Also, wouldn't a specially bulky spread work better? Shelgon resists Fire/Water/Grass/Electric, which are primarily special moves.

Um, he is fairly troublesome when you've only got out of Pikachu, Pidgeotto, Nidoran, Metapod, Spearow and Rattata to choose from when fighting him!!

But in a metagame like this, he's dreadful. Heck, even in RBY, most people would opt for Graveller over Onix in UU.
 
Here's a set I've been thinking about recently:

Chansey @ Eviolite
252 def/252 spdef/4 spe

Toxic
Light Screen/Attract/Sweet Kiss

This just sits there and spams charm after hitting the opponent with Toxic to wear it down. Here's a few calcs that shows you how crazy this thing is:

-2 252 adamant Medicham HJK: (58.97% - 69.58%)
-2 252 adamant Band Kyurem Outrage: (22.46% - 26.37%)
adamant LO Metagross Meteor Mash: (48.21% - 56.79%)

Adamant Medicham's HJK is the strongest fighting-type attack in UU. It can charm+toxic the many weaker attackers in the tier, and softboiled stall vs. them easily. Trapping steels that wall this set is crucial, though most will still lose to blissey 1v1 due to their relative lack of power, no recovery, and seismic toss. Metagross can be stalled out in a last ditch situation, as it requires an attack-boost to 2hko with Meteor Mash and will wear itself down via recoil.

EDIT: LOL my bad. Seismic toss is illegal with Charm, so give it a support option, and steel-trapping support and you're good to go. Light Screen works well, as does Attract. Sweet Kiss is a gimmicky confusion option, but might rack up more damage. Shame Evasion clause is in place, otherwise this would be the ultimate staller with Minimize...
 
piloswine has the same defense stats and only 10 less hp than the full evo, so the defenses will always be higher, im not sure if it can be fully abused as piloswine is much slower, and cannot hit as hard, but can maybe set up stealth rock and phaze, and im sure with a little investment earthquake coming off of 100 base attack will be hitting pretty hard in lower tiers, useful in trick room?
 
A good user of an eviolite is a pokemon that should satisfy these conditions:
Not be outclassed by its evolution (as long as its not OU or Uber *looks at Blaziken*)
Has its own niche in the UU metagame
Has good defensive stats
Has good support movepool or strong offensive stats

Sneasel is not good, outclassed by its evolution, no niche, poor defensive stats, and poor support movepool, and its offensive stats are outclassed by Weaville.

There are exceptions: Cottonee has poor(ish) defensive stats, but with Mischievous Heart, it becomes extremely strong, rivalling Whimsicott. Its lower base HP means it can absorb more from Leech Seed

I'd like to point out Duosion. Same Base Special Attack, Magic Guard, and same useful movepool. Its a slower, bulkier (possibly), itemless Reuncilus.

With Piloswine, it has Ice Shard

I don't like seeing gimmick sets that are almost completely outclassed by something else.
 
Eviolite Duosion is less bulky than Reuniclus, but Reuniclus is OU, so that's a moot point.
If you go for a physically bulky spread for CM, Duosion reaches 334/327/330 defenses before a CM. Compare that to physically bulky Suicune, who reaches 404/361/330.
 
Duosion's problem is the lack of Life Orb, so his attacks are approximately 25% weaker than Reuniclus(no it is not 30%, go do some math bro). The other issue is HP Fighting, which has significantly lower power than Focus Miss. Sure, Reuniclus doesn't always have to run LO, but it can run what, Leftovers? Light Clay? Reuniclus can just do a lot of things better, and Duosion isn't hitting hard enough, since he needs that Eviolite boost to get to Reuniclus' bulk.
 
Remember folks, not every NFE Pokemon with Eviolite is a godsend. Duosion is frail, misses out on non-recoil Life Orb if it carries Eviolite and absolutely needs Trick Room to function.

That being said, I would like to consider NFEs who were NU last gen.
 
^Eviolite gives it passable Defenses, especially in conjunction with Magic Guard and Recover. It's supposed to function like a mini Reuniclus, not like Alakazam or Espeon. I'm not specifically saying it's great or anything, just that your comparisons aren't good.
 
Onix struggles for moves, even if you like that good defense.

And thats it, it literally has no other moves at its disposal. I remember reading somewhere that explosion on onix failed to 1HKO alakazam, in the first gen... and thats when explosion was stronger.
 
hell, Lairon is much better than Onix. At least it has an actual attack stat. And higher defenses (Onix: 35/160/45 vs Lairon: 60/140/50).

And both have crappy typings, but Lairon typing is still MUCH better (you know... it actually resists some attacks, and has only 3 weakness, albeit common ones. Onix has 6, and 5 of them are also common...)
 
I'd disagree on Duosion needing Trick Room to function. Calm Mind/Recover/Psyshock/Hidden Power Fighting should be fine. After a Calm Mind it has 334/327/352 defenses with max HP/defense, so it can survive hits. It's certainly usable at the least.

Duosion and the likes of Alakzam and Espeon are two different Pokemon made for different purposes. Alakazam utilizes its sheer force and various support options (Sub/Encore, CM, Charge Beam, etc.) to distinguish itself. The only reason to choose Espeon over Alakazam is to use Magic Mirror to bounce back various ailments and Leech Seed, and to a lesser extent, Batonn Passing (BP + MM are illegal atm). Duosion has a base 125 power, hitting hard right off the bat. With CM and Recover, it can pose a threat without rolling over and dying to a neutral attack, unlike Alakazam and Espeon. Its bulk is not in question, having defenses almost equal to that of Suicune.
 
I could see how Magic Guard could maybe give Duosion a niche, but I'd think that it's outclassed by almost every other CMer in UU (including Suicune).

Could you pull off a bulky Mismagius with Misdreavus? Maybe a WoW set, a Perish Trapping set, and maybe even a CM set?

EDIT: Never mind, it's solidly outclassed by almost every other Ghost type, and Murkrow can probably pull of Perish Song better.

Saying that Duosion's bulk is almost equal to that of Suicune is an overstatement. Duosion hits 334HP with 327DEF after an Eviolite. It won't be taking hits too well especially when it'll be hard to set-up.
 
I don't see why it would be incredibly hard to set up. Reuniclus works great in OU, so I don't see why little brother Duosion couldn't work at least decently in UU. Yes, yes, I know Reuniclus is much better and blah blah, but this is a different tier.

And Duosion has decent bulk with Eviolite, but most importantly, you have to take into consideration that has reliable, instant recovery and an immunity to Burn/Toxic/Hail/Sandstorm/Spikes/Toxic Spikes/Stealth Rock/Leech Seed.
 
For anyone who wants to use Eviolite Scyther, I'm pretty sure you can get optimum bulk with 84 HP EVs and 212 in each defense. I could be wrong, though. This obviously doesn't apply if you're trying to maximize special or physical bulk at the cost of the other.
