In Challenge 1, Civil Rights was eliminated. Players on that tribe have been sent to modified redemption island.
Tour De France
Challenge 2
We have designed a simulation of bike racing strategy. Though we will only be looking at the fastest individuals, tribal strategy around energy management and drafting will be crucial in helping one or two of your tribemates to achieve the fastest possible time.
This challenge has been modified from the last time it was run. For convenience, I have underlined all changes.
A tick lasts
10 minutes. The gamestate updates each tick publicly.
The racecourse is
300 units long. A player who has travelled a distance longer than 300 units is considered to have passed the finish line.
Each player begins with 3 pedal usages. Pedaling expends a pedal usage. Each player may pedal up to twice each tick, and
the upper bound on the number of pedal usages stored is 15.
There are
three lanes, which players can switch freely between.
Players "draft" when,
after locations update,
they are exactly one unit of distance behind someone else in the same lane. If a player is drafting, then they gain one pedal usage
before locations update.
Players advance 1 unit each tick naturally, 2 if they are drafting.
If players start their turn on squares 151-250, then they will advance one additional unit, before pedaling is calculated. If players use 1 pedal that tick, then there is a 2x multiplier on their distance travelled. If they use 2 pedals that tick (which is the maximum), then there is a 5x multiplier on their distance travelled.
The first two people from different tribes to cross the finish line will win immunity for their tribes. The other six tribes will attend tribal council. In the event of a tie, the first tribe with two players crossing the finish line will win, followed by three, etc.
Bot commands (must be used in your confessional):
!pedalnow - expends a pedal usage to increase your distance travelled that tick. This action may not be reversed. You can pedal up to a maximum of two times each tick.
!checkstatus - returns your current distance, pedal usages that tick, pedal usages remaining, lane, and whether or not you are drafting
!lane1 - changes your lane to lane 1
!lane2 - changes your lane to lane 2
!lane3 - changes your lane to lane 3
We will update #tour-de-france every tick with a list of players with their distance travelled, pedal usages remaining, and lane.
Good luck! The race starts at 6pm PST.
