[Uber RMT] Blackwing Themed Team
Sorry for the large pictures btw.
Ever since Blackfeather Dragon came out, I had liked it. Also, I realised that it looks a bit like Giratina-o. Therefore, I’d like to make a team based around it. The 1st and only thing that I could think of is Baton Pass Mew Teams.
For the Team:
Blackwing - Bora the Spear
Cloyster (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs:172 SpA/152 SpD/184 Spe
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
- Spikes
- Ice Shard
Why Cloyster = Bora
First of all, notice the Spikes on Cloyster’s armour, Don’t they look just like spears? Ya you get the point.
Does Cloyster even work that well as an Uber lead?
First of all, I would like an unique lead so…
The crux of Cloyster lies in its ability to use Rapid Spin. Till now, the only lead that I could not handle is Kyogre. I wish I could take out a move for Explosion so as to take it down. Ice Beam handles standard annoying leads such as Deoxys and Groudon, and also most Anti-Leads like Rayquaza. Ice Shard kills Shaymin-S which would otherwise Air Slash Cloyster to oblivion.
Blackwing – Gale the Whirlwind
Uxie @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Memento
- Yawn
Why Uxie = Gale
“If you control a "Blackwing" monster other than "Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind", you can Special Summon this card from your hand. Once per turn, you can halve the ATK and DEF of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls.”
Understand now? Dual Screen is basically halving your opponent’s ATK. Memento contributes in halving it even more.
Moveset Analysis:
The only thing that needs to be explained is why Yawn over T-Wave/U-turn/SR. Due to Uxie’s bulk, the opponent will be forced to switched to something that can hit Uxie SE. I could Yawn for 2 reason: Phaze SD-Ceus Setting-Up, or forcing a switch so I could set-up a Screen safely.
Blackwing – Vayu the Emblem of Honour
Mew @ Lum Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 244 HP / 210 Spd / 56 SpD
Calm Nature (+SpD, -Atk)
- Baton Pass
- Nasty Plot
- Taunt
- Rock Polish
Why Mew = Vayu
“If this card is face-up on the field, you cannot use it for a Synchro Summon. If this card is in your Graveyard, you can remove from play this card plus 1 non-Tuner "Blackwing" monster in your Graveyard, and Special Summon 1 "Blackwing" Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck whose Level equals the total Levels of the removed monsters. The effect(s) of that Synchro Monster is negated.”
Mew makes use of Bora and Gale in the Graveyard + itself to attain a Synchro Summon.
Nothing much actually but once I get here, the combo is almost unstoppable.
Blackfeather Dragon
"Darkened squalls, become the wings that soar from resolved hope! Synchro Summon! Soar, Black Feather Dragon!"
Giratina-o @ Griseous Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Spe / 220 SpA
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Aura Sphere
- Substitute
- Thunder
Why Giratina-O = Blackfeather Dragon
They look similar (See http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/_...ages/2/2d/Black-WingedDragonTSHD-EN-UR-1E.png). I know that it’s wrong to put the Star in the 4th spot but if not where else should I put it?
Moveset Analysis:
Shadow Ball and Aura Sphere are for obvious coverage. Substitute is mostly Filler but helps against Blisseys trying to T-Wave/Toxic me. Thunder helps against Kyogre but is mostly unneeded against other stuff.
Blackwing Armor Master
"Darkened gales, become the wings which will soar to heavens! Synchro Summon! Blackfeather - Armor Master!"
Mewtwo @ Lum Berry
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spe / 252 SpA
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Aura Sphere
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
- Flamethrower
Why Mewtwo = Armor Master
First of all, I was looking something humanoid in shape and Mewtwo was the 1st to come to my mind. The fact that it can rip teams apart without even health gets in sync with Armor Master’s effect of not being destroyed by battle and reducing battle damage to 0.
Moveset Analysis:
OMG! This thing has a gigantic move pool! I don’t know whether Thunder or Shadow Ball should be put anywhere or stay with the current set. Substitute is no longer necessary as I can use Lum Berry over for that.
Blackwing – Aurora of the Northen Light
Garchomp (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spe / 252 Atk
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Stone Edge
- Outrage
Why Garchomp = Aurora
Actually they are similar because they are both back-ups when the original plan fails out of some reason. Garchomp also can help pick off weakened teams and other threats like DD-Ray or Scarf-Kia because of its 102 Speed.
I have never shown its face so I don’t know how my supposed role would work. But that means that my team is able to kill most teams without even having to resort to a cleaner/back-up.
Threat List is redundant since it is impossible to counter once I reach Mew. However, Darkrai is still a major threat if it puts Uxie to sleep.
