thats the point, it keeps things competitive even in the later weeks. And why should you get a disproportional boost just because you won 5 games instead of 4 games in a week?
Soccer and similar sports that use a 3 point system use it because they want to deter people playing for draws and making the game boring. Sports that dont have issues with people playing for draws eg cricket use a 2 point system

Or yknow…. add one more tier (or subtract one tier) from this tournament

Honestly I think the tie hurts in this low point count, low team count and low week count team tour. as basically you have to do better than 6/8ths of the group to get a bye, and you have to be in the top 6/8 just to be in the playoffs. This just feels weird to me...
