Can be abrasive at times (no joke)
[OVERVIEW]
Breloom is essentially a worse Kartana in almost every way. As an offensive Grass-type, it struggles to break through Pokemon that Kartana would have no issue with, such as Tangrowth, Clefable, Gliscor, and Tornadus-T. Breloom is slower than most of the metagame, forcing it to rely on Mach Punch to pose as any sort of threat against offensive teams. It's also very frail and struggles to find opportunities to set up. Furthermore, compared to Tapu Bulu, Kartana, and Tangrowth, it has virtually zero defensive utility. All in all, unless you have something against using Ultra Beasts or any other good wallbreaker for that matter, there's very little reason to use Breloom on a serious team.
[SET]
name: Not Kartana (Breloom)
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Mach Punch
move 3: Bullet Seed
move 4: Spore
item: Life Orb
ability: Technician
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
Spore is the only major factor that separates Breloom from other wallbreakers such as Kartana, Kyurem-B, and Mega Mawile, as it is able to freely shut down a few of its switch-ins, such as Tornadus-T. Tapu Bulu is almost a required teammate because otherwise Breloom will fail to break through most defensive cores, and after a Swords Dance, a Terrain-boosted Bullet Seed is actually pretty difficult to deal with defensively. Mach Punch is absolutely mandatory despite its low Bases Power, as otherwise Breloom is laughably easy to revenge kill, and it can sometimes sweep offensive teams late-game. Still, Breloom is unable to prevent itself from being revenge killed by common offensive threats such as Tornadus-T and Choice Scarf Landorus-T. Seriously just use Kartana.
