Bug Team!

I posted this about 6 months ago, and have since made changes. Just seeing how everyone thinks it is.

Shuckle @ Leftovers
Nature: Impish
Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/ 96 Def / 160 Sdef

Knock Off
Toxic
Stealth Rock
Rest

I open with this girl. She's pretty great for smacking off the choice items people rely on a lot and stuff like that. and, with rest, and such huge defs. it can sit there for a loonnnnggggg time. Stealth rocks helps wither away things for the weak attackers.

Heracross @ Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Stone Edge
Close combat
Megahorn
Pursuit

Choice Band Heracross. The real physical attacker on the team. I'm not 100% sure about pursuit on him, but meh, w/e.

Ninjask @ Leftovers
Nature: Adamant
Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Night Slash
U-Turn
Aerial Ace
Substitute

I love this guy. He's weak, but can do a lot of damage when people predict wrong. I can often just abuse the fact they think he'll baton pass and get an extra hit in before the U-turn, which allows the extra damage switching in. I prefer this over baton pass, because no one on my team really bebfits from speed boost too much... Besides Heracross, but I prefer getting in the extra hit.

Venemoth @ Leftovers
Nature: Timid
Shield Dust
EVs: 252 Satk / 252 Spd

Baton Pass
Substitute
Sleep Powder
HP Fire

I needed something with a fire move... And the Sleep Powder / Sub. combo was pretty dreamy to me. I'm open for suggestions however. I could sub a Scissor in, but I'm not sure what I would give it.

Forretress @ Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 196 Sdef

EQ
Spikes
Explosion
Light Screen

Meh. I'm usually too impatient to use him lol. EQ hits for very little, but I needed it a lot. Explosion is a god send, except against my biggest threats, Skarm and Heatran.

Yanmega @ Leftovers
Nature: Modest
Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Satk / 252 Spd

HP Ice
Bug Buzz
Air Slash
Protect

Love of my life. HP Ice OHKOs Salamence and Garchomp. Bug Buzz has the GREAT STAB and rips through anything with a weakness to it. Air Slash 2HKOs mostly everything that has a weakness to it, and protect lets me get a speed boost in to take out Jolly Garchomps. I like the Bug Buzz on him because for Hera to use it, with the band, is not as effective as Yanmega using it with his huge Satk and STAB.

My biggest problem is Skarmory. It destroys my team. Easy. Another big problem is Heatran. Seeing him, I basically just give up. For one, I hate facing legendary pokemon. It kinda ruins it for me. Especially when using an all bug team. Secondly, Heatran's incredible bug resistant typing makes him the perfect counter.

Really, I just need some help deciding on everything, and am very open to suggestions. Also, it'd be nice to move around some of my items, to make it a lot less boring lol. I'm no good at figuring out items tho...

A few things;

Fire weak. A problem all mono-bug teams will face, and an unfixable problem nontheless. Try using heatran over ninjask, he does you no good.

Venomoth. The problem with this is that movepool. Subpassing is great and all, but with sleep powder and HP fire? I dunno... try using bug buzz and sleep powder. I've always like specs venomoth too, you could try that.

STAB. We all love STAB, but 3 bug moves on one team isn't too helpful. All you really need would be megahorn on heracross. Ninjask can go, and maybe substitute on yanmega?

What are you doing? We need a little flavor text. What do each of your pogeys do? How do they contribute to your team?

Its a gimmicky team, not much you can do to help Xiao. Anyways I suggest you use encore on Shuckle. Try to add Scizor over Venemoth and use a SD set. Rapid Spin on Foretress. Lead with Yanmega, maybe HP ground. If there were any better bugs I would take out Ninjask, but sadly your other options are pretty pathetic. Work on the moveset though. Maybe make it pass speed to Heracross/Scizor. Sadly you will have to keep your big Skarm/Heatran weak unless you want to get rid of the theme. Items are fine.

I tried. :\

Earthquake destroys heatran, flamethrower destroys skarmory.

To make this team good, I think you're going to need to stray away from the all bug idea. Heatran would be good here, so would swampert. A neat idea, but somewhat flawed. :(

If you're trying to mitigate your weaknesses while adhering to your theme, I suggest a compromise. Instead of having a Bug-type team, have a Bug Egg Group theme. This allows you to use Flygon, Gliscor, and Drapion and prevents you from using Armaldo (which isn't on your team right now anyway). Flygon resists Fire and can't be hit by Ground, which will really help against Heatran and other Fire types.

Yeah, it is flawed, but the team has given me quite a few good runs on Shoddy. I love themed teams, so this is my first. I would HP Ground Yanmega, but i need Ice far too much to deal with the dragons.

I could get scissor in as a Passer, but sadly, I found what usually happens is I can rip through a lot, but the things I can't with Yanmega or Heracross will OHKO or 2HKO Scissor before I can effectivly set up a good passing situation.

Also, at some point I might change the theme to an Egg-group one, but in my mind it's kinda lazy, as you can go crazy with things like, normal Egg-Group and things like that. I'm a real loser, and love Bugs and wanted to make a team that can show my love by actually taking good teams, which it has been able to do pretty effectivly. I just need help making it a little more effective, if possible.

My only suggestion for this team while sticking to the theme is to lead off with moth and possibly go hp ground>hp ice on heatran for that scary heatran weakness. By the way, is this Don't run with scizors?

"Don't run with scizors" is OmegaDonut.

Yeah. I read one of his battles with his Bug only team, it was pretty great. I tried to do something close to his, but I didn't know everything he used.

Also, I'm considering the HP Ground, but the no Fire attacks is a scary thought.
