Bunnelby [QC 0/3]

Status
Not open for further replies.
[OVERVIEW]

Bunnelby is a decent Pokemon, having Huge Power gives it a boosted attack that puts it above some physically attacking Pokemon. Bunnelby has decent speed, 15, which helps it outspeed threats like Timburr. It can also take out big threats like Abra, Anorith, Omanyte, and more. However, it lacks coverage for Fighting-types, which are common in SWSH LC, and overall lacks defensive bulk.

[SET]
name: Swords dance
move 1: Strength
move 2: Earthquake

move 4: Swords Dance/Stone Edge
Item: Evolite
Ability: Huge Power
Nature: Adamant
Evs: 52 HP / 228 Atk / 228 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
=======
  • Once it has the boost from swords dance, it can take out mons that are low hp, after hazards.
  • Quick Attack after swords dance can take out many non-bulky mons after hazards.
  • Strength is a nice STAB move to have for Bunnelby, with decent Base Power.
  • Swords Dance boosts Bunnelby's attack even further making it a good attacking Pokemon.
Set Details
========

  • Huge power is a must, giving it x2 attack from the start. This lets it start on the offensive, and it makes it a great attacking Pokemon.
  • Adamant nature adds to that, boosting attack. All of this added together is why bunnelby is a better physical attacker than pokemon like Darumaka and Eevee.
  • Bunnelby's attack is decent, and it is more or less bulky, and it has the advantage that psychic is not super effective on it, making abra somewhat less of a threat.

Usage tips
=========

  • It is recommended with a sticky web/hazards team, because Bunnelby can take advantage of the low hp's and speed, making it an excellent sweeper.
  • Putting up a swords dance in the first turn is a good idea, especially if a hazards/screens Pokemon is out, letting Bunnelby get the Swords Dance for free.

Team Options
===========
  • Ferroseed is a good pokemon to get up spikes.
  • Dewpider is a good sticky web mon, and Bunnelby can take advantage of the low speed and take out most opposing mons.
  • An Abra or something to counter Mienfoo is a good idea because Mienfoo is a big threat to Bunnelby.
  • Vullaby is a good Pokemon to consider to pair with Bunnelby. Due to Bunnelby's lack of a strong defensive bulk, it hates hazards, so a Vullaby with defog or any Pokemon with defog is suggested.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
===========

  • Choice Band Bunnelby is a great offensive strategy. However, it is restricted to 1 move, and if the move selected is Normal-type, then it would have a problem against ghost types.
  • Having Wild Charge is a good move to be able to handle flying type Pokemon like Vullaby, Natu, etc. but it has recoil damage, and Bunnelby needs to keep its HP because of its lack of defensive bulk.

Checks and Counters
==================
  • **Fighting-types**: Fighting-types like Mienfoo are a major problem for bunnelby, because of their common presence in SWSH LC. They can take out Bunnelbly easily.
  • **Burn**: Bunnelby is a good offensive Pokemon because of its immediate attack boost, but if it gets burned it is not as good anymore, and it just becomes useless.
  • **Ghost-types**: Ghost types are a pain in the neck for Bunnelby because they eliminate two moves from Bunnelby, including a great STAB move, Strength. Ghost-types are especially nasty if you choose Swords Dance instead of Stone Edge because then Bunnelby will only have Earthquake as an option to hit Ghost-types

When you put 2 sets just loop back after team options. When you are done with the second set then you go to other options and checks and counters

Hi, please put the analysis back into WIP. There needs to be substantial improvements, or this analysis will most likely receive a QC reject. Firstly, please adhere to the formatting that was provided; straying from the formatting breaks the smogdex when we upload stuff. Secondly, please use the sample set that is on the dex; it makes it easier to understand what we are looking for instead of creating your own set. Bunnebly should only be having one set and it is this:
Bunnelby @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 52 HP / 228 Atk / 228 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Strength
- Earthquake
- Quick Attack
- Swords Dance / Stone Edge
Lastly, the current writing is very vague and not informative. The overview doesn't tell me anything about Bunnelby, the set details, team options, and usage tips are very general, and the Checks and Counters are incorrect. Please take a look at the other analyses to get an idea of what we are looking for and tag me after you have addressed these concerns.

Hey, even after the revisions this still isn't up to the standards we need for an analysis. Everything here is either vague (like saying that Bunnelby is stronger than some physical attackers) or not useful (comparing Bunnelby to unviable Pokemon like Darumaka or Eevee). What's here would need to basically be completely rewritten by the QC team and frankly that's not something we can let slide for writers. I'm going to reject this, pending a second QC reject.

Im going to echo Merritt here. While we appreciate the effort, this is not up to QC standards and needs a pretty substantial overhaul. I would encourage you to try writing again when you get more familiar with the metagame and analysis-writing process. Whether you write in the future or not, please stick around in LC

Rejecting 2/2, I'll lock this.
