Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 96 SpA / 160 Spe
Modest Nature
- Magma Storm
- Sunny Day
- Solar Beam
- Earth Power

Heatran flames on as a huge threat in modern BW OU! Magma Storm allows Heatran to trap foes that would otherwise check it, such as Politoed and Starmie. The combination of Sunny Day and Solar Beam allows it to threaten Water-types that would otherwise pose a threat to it and immediately remove them, such as Slowking, Jellicent, and Gastrodon. Earth Power provides useful coverage, hitting opposing Heatran and Tyranitar while being a perfectly accurate move to hit Excadrill with. The Speed EVs guarantee that Heatran outspeeds Adamant Scizor as well as uninvested Landorus-T and Gliscor. 96 Special Attack EVs with a Modest nature allow Heatran to 2HKO Gliscor with Magma Storm. This Heatran set is best used early game, as the surprise factor plays an important role. Tyranitar is a fantastic partner, removing Politoed's rain and beating any Starmie that Heatran might trap with Magma Storm. Latios and Jellicent also work extremely well with it, coming in on the Fighting- and Water-type attacks thrown Heatran's way.
