Comes from the latin words dragon and imatation, literally meaning "dragon imatation", with only a few letters cut off to sound better.

Monolith/obelisk, Maw, basilisk, and the -lisk suffix used in the names some Zerg, the famous bug-like monsters in StarCraft.

Draco + Countervail

Draco is the Latin word for dragon, vail is from the word countervail which is countering something with equal force, also works as a synonym for neutralize.
