WIP 1

Habaalaz

Combination of Hagalaz (alternative spelling for the Norse rune Hagall, meaning "hail" (the weather event)), baa, and bál (Old Norse word meaning "pyre")

Pronounced: HAH-bah-lazz

WIP 2

Habálaz

The same as above, but trades the "baa" pun for a more faithful spelling of the word bál.

WIP

Eiseldramm

"Eis" – Germanic/Norse-rooted word for ice
"Eldr" – Old Norse for fire
also in the Tolkienian mythos, Isildur (the name of the Numenorian king who appeared in "The Lord of the Rings" films) the is a Quenyan name, meaning "Servant of the Moon", from Isil ("Moon") + -dur ("servant")
"Ram(m)" – Refers to the ram-like nature and appearance
The first part of the name has a mystical flow, evoking the shimmering presence of the Aurora Borealis while the double "mm" at the end gives it weight and power, like the creature itself.

Pronouncied: EYE-zel-drahm

Final Submission

Eeldiispaa

Derived from Icelandic/Old Norse (Eld + Spá), would effectively mean "fire omen".

Pronounced: "El-dee-spah"
IPA: ɛldɪspɔ

My interpretation has been this guy would be similar to Absol in that its appearance and especially its call would serve as portents of strife. (Also decided to double-up on the vowels as a subtle nod to its dual nature.)

Muspereamnos

pronounced "moos-PEHR-eyam-nos"

from "Muspelheim" (a realm of fire in Norse cosmology) and "Oreamnos" (the genus which the mountain goat belongs to)

Caprion
pronounced "kuh-PREE-awn"

from "ionize/ionization" and "caprine" (i.e. a member of the tribe Caprini which sheep and goats belong to)

WIP (3/3)

Aurengard

AW-ren-guard

Aurora + guard + Midgard/Asgard
(also evokes: iron/jórn, horn, aurum, aura, aries)

I tried to find the right "legendary" name for this.
CAP name polls tend to settle on the least common denominator pun. Shox, Astrolotl and Pyroak are great names, but looking at similar precedents like Heatran, the musketeers (with the exception of Keldeo) or most cover legends, their names have nothing to do with what animal they look like, and everything to do with what they do and represent. Thundurus is THE deity that brings thunder to its lands. In contrast, "semi-legendaries" like the Loyal Three or Urshifu have very explicit names. Munkidori is a monkey. It is also, for some reason, the only monkey of its kind, and it once did something that people tell stories about.
To me, CAP 36 falls firmly into the first category: in my head, it has guarded its realm since the start of living memory, with the Aurora itself being its "true" form, and maybe only recently decided to take on the form of a ram.
