CAP Co-Leader
We're making Meloetta-Style Forms! Reminder that there are two major changes in place for this CAP.

First, this thread is only for Section Leader applications. Topic Leader applications occurred in a past thread before Framework submissions began.

Second, CAP 36 will operate off of a framework. Read this post to understand how this project will differ from typical CAP Projects.

--

This is the thread for people to announce their desire to become Section Leaders (SLs) for this creation project. Do not suggest other users. If someone wants to become a Section Leader, they will post on their own, and if they don't have a strong urge to be it then they shouldn't be signing up anyway. The CAP project requires the utmost dedication and a substantial amount of free time, especially to lead, meaning that only those who have carefully considered the magnitude of their application will apply at all. If you are not prepared to fulfill all of the responsibilities to the very end, then do not throw your hat into the ring.

Before applying, it is important to read and understand the following posts:
Topic Leadership
CAP 5 - Policy Review Summary
Either-Or Leadership Applications

The Topic Leadership Team (TLT) is made up of the following five positions to lead the creation of this new Pokemon. This thread is only for Section Leader applications. The Topic Leader has already been selected in a previous poll.
  • Topic Leader: In the public's eyes, this is the leader of the project. Overall, the goal of the TL is "quality control", not "project control". The responsibilities of the TL include running Concept Assessment, Threats Discussion, and finalizing the slates of Section Leaders. For CAP 36 specifically, the TL will also slate frameworks.
  • Section Leaders: The Section Leaders will be leading the four major competitive aspects of creating a Pokemon. They will make slates for their respective threads and provide meaningful discussion points to their specific area. Note that TLT members are allowed to make submissions during stages of the CAP process that they are not actively leading:
    • Typing Leader
    • Ability Leader
    • Stats Leader
    • Movepool Leader
When making your application, please indicate which position(s) you are applying for. You must identify which SL section(s) you are applying for. Section Leaders should have the following qualifications:
  • Deep knowledge of the game of Pokemon
  • Familiarity with competitive Pokemon concepts, strategy and philosophy, as practiced within Smogon
  • Willing to voice opinions and lead others
  • Open-minded to new ideas
  • Creative, "outside-of-the-box" thinker
  • Good writing skills
  • Level-headed when resolving disputes
  • Liked and respected by the CAP community
Once this CAP starts, the Topic Leader and Section Leaders will be the most important, most visible members of the CAP community, and they are expected to be a strong guiding force throughout the creation process. If you are selected for any of these positions, you will have a great deal of power to influence the project. But you also have a responsibility to stay on top of things. You will have forum moderators to help you, but you need to be regularly active on the project until it is complete. All potential candidates should look through both the Topic Leadership Guide and the CAP Process Archive, to get an idea of what will be expected of you, if you are selected to be a Section Leader.

This thread is strictly for candidacy posts and posts supporting those candidates. Please stay on topic. Below are the guidelines for posting in this thread:
  • Candidates will benefit from highlighting their active involvement throughout the duration of a recent CAP project. Involvement in multiple CAP projects is strongly preferred.
  • Do not suggest other people. If you want you encourage someone else to run, then send them a PM or talk to them on the PS! CAP chatroom or the CAP Discord channel.
  • If you are new to the CAP project, do not sign up in this thread. Instead, spend a project or two lurking, learning, and participating first.
  • Include a summary of your involvement in the CAP project.
  • Make a pitch for why you should be selected. If you can't present and defend yourself, then you can't expect to lead a project whose primary function is discussion and debate. Convince us that you are a good choice.
  • Even if you don't think you are better qualified than certain other candidates, you still should consider posting your application. Candidates not selected as TL this project will be on the watchlist for next time around. Don't post your name if you don't intend to be active in the project, even if you are not selected, since people will be scrutinizing your involvement more closely.
  • Feel free to post support for any candidates already named.
  • Do not post disparaging remarks about any candidates.
If these rules are not followed, the offending user will be subject to moderation.

it's your boy rabia here back at it again with another youtube upload, this time detailing why I should be part of the TLT team (no preference) for CAP36

As y'all know, I was TLT back for Saharaja's movepool portion and the buff leader for Voodoom, and in general I've been involved with CAP since early SS. Given the framework that won, I find myself uniquely positioned to help guide this process as a TLT because of Meloetta's relevance in NU and my experience messing around with Relic Song variants. I think this puts me in a good spot because I'm very familiar with how this mechanic plays at a high level and what causes Meloetta to struggle anywhere above NU. In addition, I've got A Couple Years of leadership experience on Smogon on the whole as a tier leader, so that never hurts!

I am SS cap guy.

however I would like to become SL guy.

I have done many CAP things. I have lead many stages. I have lead one mon. I have lead many teams. I have won and lost many games. I have played many mons.

For real, I have a ton of CAP experience, and a lot of battling experience in a bunch of different tiers and metas and gens. As a stage leader I’ve always done my best to keep things as open to all possibilities as can be; those were goals of mine when I lead typing for Saharaja and Hemogoblin. I’m also intimately familiar with constrained processes from my experience TLing Chuggalong. I think CAP 36 will be one of those constrained processes considering we’re going to have to reckon with using a 75 BP move.

Outside of CAP, I moderate SS metagames, and I’ve been doing a decent job of it I think… I have a good history of writing all over Smogon as well, so you can expect some halfway decent questions out of me during my stage!

Glad to get back in the swing of CAPs after resting a bit during Shox, hope you’ll have me.

I opened it up last process around, so let's continue that trend get sniped by rabia get sniped by rabia AND dex.

I'm Earthflax and I want to throw my hat in the ring for TLT once more, with preference being Ability>Movepool>Typing>Stats.

I've been involved with and participating in the CAP Process on and off for 5 years now; those of you who remember me from the earlier years of that time period will probably know me from the Venomicon process, which was the first process that I followed in-depth from start to finish. Since then, I've contributed heavily to several processes as solely a contributor, submitted the winning buff package for Kitsunoh (that eventually got pretty much completely undone - RIP my baby), served as the Ability Leader for Shox, and, most recently, earned a Ladybug for my contributions to CAP. And now here we are, at the next framework -- same process, different me. I'd like to think I've done pretty well as both a contributor and as a member of leadership, and so I find myself both equipped and eager to face the beast that is TLTing a framework.

Outside of the process, I am active in the CAP metagame, with my individual tournament performances over the past year qualifying me for Circuit Champs, and having managed the Chicago White Shox (with our own TL, SHSP) in CAPCL. I've taken a brief break from individual tournaments but I've been having a lot of fun in various different metagames and team tournaments across the site, and you certainly will be seeing my face once CAPPL rolls around.

Best of luck to all and here's to a great CAP36!!!!

Sup gamers, it's me Da Pizza Man. I'm applying for TLT, with my preference being Stats > Typing > Ability > Movepool.

My experience with CAP is fairly extensive, dating all the way back to Volkraken's process, participating for most of Gen 6 and coming back to CAP around 4 years ago during Chromera's process, with some of my most notable contributions since then consisting of submitting the winning Stat Spread Submission for Venomicon's base form and serving as the Stats Leader during Cresceidon's process. Realistically speaking, I think that this framework is going to depend quite a lot on having experienced users on the TLT (especially regarding the stats stage), and I believe that I am very strongly equipped to handle this task.

Outside of the process, I have quite a lot of involvement in the CAP Metagame as well. In terms of some of my notable achievements, I have qualified for the past 3 Editions of the CAP Circuit Championship, have participated in every CAPCL and won the past two (One as a manager and another as a player), have managed multiple times for CAP Team Tournaments, and have hosted multiple tournaments for CAP (Including one that's taking place right now!). Outside of just tournaments, I also act as both a moderator and a QC Member for CAP Contributions & Corrections (It's lulled a bit as of late, but we're working on picking things back up don't you worry) and a frequent host for Room Events in the CAP PS! Room (Which I also moderate). I don't have a ton of activity outside of CAP, but I do occasionally participate in more unconventional team tournaments such as HGPL.

I'm very excited for what this process entails, and I wish the best of luck to everyone signing up in this thread.

Hello everybody! I'm Reviloja753, otherwise known as SunshineFuture on... every place besides this one. I'm applying to be a Section Leader, and while I am definitely flexible as to which stage I'd get, my preferences are Ability > Type > Moves > Stats.

I've been contributing to CAP since all the way back in Gen 7; my first process was Pajantom, where I was the individual who pushed for Brave Bird to more reliably beat HazeHawk with Flyinium Z. I have participated in some form or another in basically every CAP since, and most recently I submitted CAP35's winning concept. I also led a FlashCAP many years ago in the form of Eskimamba. While said concept was, in hindsight, overly vague, I believe that the concept was a success in both process and product; and that it shows my strengths in contributing to CAP as a whole. I consider myself a very talented writer and articulator of my ideas, and while I am more than willing to make my opinions known, I also always strive to keep an open mind to arguments I have yet to hear; if a good argument is presented, I am more than willing to change my mind on something. While I am not a habitual player, I have great familiarity with the CAP metagame; I know what works and what simply does not. Moreover, I take great joy in considering the potential avenues of the options that come up in discussion, and therefore I would not slate an option lightly; if I slate something, it will be because I sincerely believe in its prospects for creating a meaningful process and in working as a final product.

While I lack the direct leadership experience of other candidates, I genuinely believe that I would bring a fresh perspective as a Section Leader. However, I also would seek to be humble in my position, collaborating with other members of the TLT when needed. Given this CAP's unique nature, regardless of if I am selected I definitely look forward to this process. Good luck to everyone! CAP36 woo!!

Hi Im Pipotchi applying for SL again, pref being Typing>Abil>Stats>Moves

I have been participating for just under a decade with CAP, and made a bunch of contributions as well as had some competitive success over the years- Im the artist responsible for Jumbao, Mumbao and Snaelstrom, as well as one of the modelers behind Snaelstrom and Miasmaw. I won the Equilibra tournament and overall have performed well in the few team tours I've been a part of, proving I can play against the strongest CAP players. I've also been heavily involved with trying to improve the CAP process, creating a push for reinstating likes in the forum, repositioning secondary ability, and allowing prevo artists to submit drawings before a final prevo typing is decided. I also have a number of winning submissions such as Venomicons framework and Miasmaws concept.

While I haven't acted as leadership here, I have ran my two OMs, Nature Swap and Fortemons, smoothly showing that I'm a capable leader on the site- especially in the field of custom elements, knowing how to ground them and maintain the fairness of the tier. I also have a CAP Contributor badge without being TLT, purely on the back of making good posts and Im always around on the discord to argue about whatever aspect of the current project that you want!

I feel like Im more than qualified to do a good job, and despite being pretty loud about my own ideal routes (as a participator) in the past it doesn't detract from my ability to represent the discussion in a fair way when it comes to guiding and slating for a stage as a leader. It would be my first time getting to be SL and I would be eager to do the best possible job. So I hope that you will let me be SL for this fun framework :)

Hello everybody, my name is Gekokeso and will be putting my name in the hat for TLT, with the preference being Typing > Stats > Movepool > Ability but willing to do any of them. I have been lurking the CAP subforum since the very beginning of SS, participating in all CAP processes since Astrolotl as well as additional events such as the Isle of Armor tutor move additions and other buff processes, both in the smogon forums and in the discord.

My contributions to the creation side of CAP include submitting the winning typing for Saharaja and the concept for Chuggalong "Collector's edition". I have been very active within the competitive scene since the very start of last year. I have served as support in last year's CAPCL winning team, served in the finalist team of last CAPPL as a member of the Heartbreaker Hemogoblins, and most notably just happened to win CAPCL in my first year of participating in the tournament not only as a player, but as a manager, so have gotten a good idea on what meta looks like at the present.

Outside CAP I might not be the best battler, but I am very active in the Pet Mods scene, a subforum entirely dedicated to metas when some Pokémon are buffed or some are made from scratch, so I at least have enough experience with what a meta tends to need or want, and what leads to a new Pokémon sucessfully integrating to a metagame, being a council member in multiples metas. Additionally, this gives me experience with the creation of custom elements which are present during this framework.

Should I be selected as TLT I promise to be extremely active and lead conversation in a fruitful manner, as well as taking the community's input in order to create a project that leads to a project that the community can enjoy. Thanks for reading my pitch and I hope we all get to have fun with our newest framework!

Hello there! Tis I, the Chromoderator, kenn, here to apply for the SL position of CAP 36! My preference is anything except Stats!

I am not one to usually boast about myself (this is an irl problem as well), but here goes nothing! I figured for those that haven't seen me and the heavy involvement I have in this community probably live under a rock haven't been involved in CAP in the last 2 years! In terms of the process, I have been Ability Leader for Cresceidon and Chuggalong, Topic Leader for Shox, as well as running a side project, that is currently on hiatus due to the actual process starting, called the Alternate Timelines, where users can hone their process contributing skills and see what would have happened if a different option had won a past CAP's poll for the respective stage with results such as Berries Chuggalong and Steel/Fighting Venomicon. In reality, I actually began contributing to CAP back in Hemogoblin's typing stage, even being slated with my first ever post within the CAP subforum (though admittedly I lurked throughout the tail end of Saharaja when I first got on PS! but had no Smogon account yet lol)

As many of you may know, beyond just my process contributions, I am also room owner (#) within the PS! CAP room as well as being recently promoted to CAP Forum Mod due to my ridiculous dedication and efforts to not just make the community better, but to also spread the CAP propaganda to other facets of the competitive scene (so much so that I got the SDC badge because I wouldn't, and won't, shut up about it in Smogcord lol)

Unfortunately, my one flaw is not having too much metagame experience as though I did go 1-0 on my first go around in CAPPL IX I went undrafted in CAPPL X :/, but I hope to change that this year by signing up to manage for CAPPL XI when that comes around. I do, however, run a plethora of metagame related projects such as the OM Megathread (and I'm currently CAP UU's leader and 2nd biggest advocate behind Spammernoob lol) and the Teambuilding Lab as well as the Room Events Megathread that consists of things like CCATs and running/occasionally participating in tours new and old gens.

I promise that despite me having been in a leadership position for the past 3 CAPs, my time, effort, and love of the process has not dwindled nor do I ever think it will to be quite honest. I promise to make this framework be one to go down in the history books and to have nothing but fun along the way with SHSP and whoever else may join should I be elected for a 4th time (!)

Thank you for all considerations and let's have an amazing process for CAP 36!

Hey there, I’m Jho and for those that don’t know me I was stats leader for Equilibra and TL for Astrolotl. I’m looking to participate as SL this time around after watching the last few processes, with a heavy preference for stats.

Stats has been my bread and butter position since first participating in CAP 10+ years ago and have had well placing spreads for a good number of processes. I also helped gmars refine the bsr spreadsheet & calculator back when that was redone at the start of gen 8(?).

Very much looking forward to this process as a participant or part of the SL team, the framework looks very fun!

Applying for TLT.

I have been contributing to CAP since February 2018 with Jumbao’s typing. Before that, I have lurked since Crucibelle. I have TLed/SLed for 3 projects, co-managed for CAPPL 4 times, and I am a former CAP moderator. I am well-versed with the CAP processes having supported both competitive and flavor stages. I am also familiar with the CAP handoff process having helped prepare code for new additions, buffs/nerfs, and the launch of gen 9 CAP.

Lastly, I am contractually obligated to support SHSP in whatever chaos he is getting us into. :row: Raja never give up.

Chose to do this instead of renewing my vehicle registration. Signing up for SL with preferance towards Typing or Ability (AKA the two I haven't done yet).

I have been involved in CAP for a good couple years now, having been around since Miasmaw and probably lurking much earlier than that. Most of my serious effort began around Venomicon's process and has only increased since then, having served on the TLT twice now for both Hemogoblin and Chuggalong (AKA the ligma caps). Both of my Smogon badges were awarded because of my contributions and commitment to CAP, not only on the process side, but also for helping develop CAP metagames, particularly in taking up the reigns of our team tournament scene, which is one of our largest avenues of high-level competition and sitewide exposure. This position has granted me a great deal of familiarity with both how Gen 9 CAP plays and the people who engage with it. I will further sweeten the deal by informing you that I am an experienced SHSP troller; as such, I shall excel in both leading the process with diligence and confidence you'd expect from a three-peat, all the while ensuring our beloved TL has to dread opening his Discord every morning.

Put off this decision for a while, but applying for SL with a preference for Movepool.

The last time I was on the TLT, it was at the start of the generation as the Topic Leader for Hemogoblin’s process. I was also the Stats SL for Chromera and the Typing SL for Venomicon, our last framework process, where I saw firsthand how these frameworks operate from the inside and just how much work goes into their creation. I’m active on the meta side of things, leading the VR team, meta council, and just recently going 4-1 in CAPCL. I love SV and have played it enthusiastically all gen; I love frameworks, and pushed heavily to run one; I love SHSP and many of the other smart and talented users that have applied for SL; overall I think this is shaping up to be an incredibly fun process, and I’d enjoy a more involved role. I debated applying for a while because I didn’t want to risk stealing a slot from some of these other awesome users, but this is an opportunity too fun to pass up. Not gonna be too bent out of shape if I don’t make it - good luck to everyone else who applied!

Surprise, here I am with the last minute signup. I'll take anything but stats.

In terms of qualifications, I was a TLT member for Shox and Chuggalong, and was the TL for Cresceidon. While I don't often participate in the metagame side of the forum I do still actively play the tier in my off-time/closely watch it. Furthermore, I am a member of the OU council and have regularly gotten peaks on the ladder, so I do have mechanical knowledge.

I believe Cresceidon's process went really well, and in general I've learned a lot from being a TL the last couple of processes regarding how to navigate discussions and work through community sentiment. I would love the opportunity to help with this framework since it has a lot of really interesting potential implications, and I think it would be a really fun challenge to navigate. I hope you consider me; good luck everyone!

Hey it's me again, signing up for TLT. I don't think I have a preference towards any stage this time around since I'm quite accustomed to the process as a whole. I've been on the TLT twice before this generation - once as Ability Leader for Hemogoblin and once as Movepool Leader for Cresceidon. Both of these experiences went pretty smoothly in my opinion, and we ended up with some interesting end products as well. Aside from TLT experience, I've been lurking since Cawmodore and actively involved in the CAP Process since Jumbao. Because of this CAP's quirky process due to its Framework, I do believe the experience I have can be a huge boon to the TLT.

In terms of metagame experience, I'm still actively playing tournaments, both individual and team tours. I've admittedly not had as much personal success as I'd like to, but I made playoffs in 2023 at least. Recently I made finals as part of the Croconaw Dundees in CAPCL though! I like to mess around with all sorts of wacky strategies, so doing something involving in-battle forme changing is right up my alley.

With that out of the way, I'm hoping you all give me a chance, and good luck to other applicants as well. From what I'm seeing, we'll end up with an awesome framework process regardless of who ends up on the team!
