Ok, IMPORTANT question: When does this thread close? I drew something for the last CAP, but I finished it too late, and I really don't want that to happen again. :\
This is still my faviourite idea. <3 Australian animals lol. For those who don't know they're pretty cool, spikey looking little lizards (20 centimeters tops, iirc) who live in the outback and eat mainly Ants and such. THey have a tendency to just sit in front of a trail of ants and pick them off with it's tongue, but they can also sprint when need be (U-turn!)Thorny Devil
Plausible: Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Safeguard, Gravity, Block, Haze and elemental Fangs.
Possible: Me First, Snatch, Trick Room, Rapid Spin, Reflect, Tailwind, Knock Off and certain Dragon moves. Tailwind needs a particularly fitting design, as it is hard to design a Poison/Ground with it. Knock Off probably requires a large tail.
Unlikely: Wish, Heal Bell, Trick Room, Memento, Perish Song, Ice Beam, Sleep moves, Levitate, Thick Fat.
Definitely an interesting idea, but I love his little face. Maybe his prevo could have one?Absolution, as a fan of Sableye, I say "Yay!" I think it'd look interesting with some sort of gas mask or respirator, but that's just me.
I thought about his ground part too. I figured for one thing, Jirachi doesn't look like its Steel at all. None of the Water/Grounds look it at all. Wooper? Gligar? It's not uncommon for Ground Pokemon to not look stereotypically Ground.nice looking! Definetely a good, original design. Only gripe I have is the ground part is hard to imagine.
Smog Imp? Maybe a Smogon Imp!
Is this one good?Insta-Win to me. I don't know about the others but this little guy has grew on me instantly. The only thing I can think that needs changing is a lighter colored smog cloud but it's design is perfect.
Thank you very much! The smog imp is awesome. I love that idea, and the art goes with just about any support move you can think of.
Good idea on the rocks. See above. To make it part ground as well, you may need to put some "earthy" tones to it, or add rocks...
Thanks!Perhaps add some dust to the cloud of that imp and you've got a pretty damn good design there, I'd say.
Sure thing! The more people play with it, the better chance everyone will find a version of it that they especially like.I really like the Imp design, too. do you mind if I try drawing it?
Well the thing is, before Dark was even a type, Poison and Ghost were the 'evil' and 'night' types respectively. This just kinda goes back to that. He's a poisonous smog and dirt imp. What else would it be other than Poison/Ground?i have to admit that the imp is very cool looking but does it reak of ground type, 'cause to me it looks like a ghost or dark type and what utilities out of the ones listed can it know
"King/Queen Spider Pokemon"...perfect xD. Wasn't aware of a japanese based spirit around spiders...really interesting.Damn straight, tsuchigumo fits that concept and base stats to a tee, and it's a spider to boot. With its power to cast illusions, moves like Hypnosis, Gravity and Trick Room will be no problem.
It is also possible to give him a "regal" apparance and control over other arachnid-based monsters such as Ariados, Spinarak and Scorpi, like Politoed can control the Poliwag line as extra flavour.
Alright, It seems like everyone is kinda leaning towards small, cute and fast and away from the original worm and spider ideas.
Since poison/ground won, I figured I'd have a go the death worm idea. He doesn't look that pokemon-like but that can probably be remedied.
I decided to just whip up a quick sketch this time. Based on the design though,I could see this guy getting alot of the moves people want. Might need to tone down the badass a bit but... here it is.

How could I miss the most obvious Poison/Ground design possible!?
