LoneyNess's third suggestion kinda implies a new weather, but other than that there's no legit suggestion that say weather clearer.
Concept: Soul Linker
The current metagame leaves very little room for pokemon and strategies that are not very plain and straightforward. The more interesting strategies get relegated to a lower level of play and get slapped with the rather degrading title of "gimmicks." They are rarely effective either due to the poor stats of pokemon who can use them, the slowness of setup, etc. This pokemon will help to counter that trend to a small extent and introduce some refreshing new strategies.
The basic idea is to synchronize with your opponent in a lot more ways than with the current Synchronize ability--including status changes, stat boosts, and/or damage. This would give a nice twist to things and introduce new strategies, e.g.:
Note that I am not suggesting any particular abilities or moves for this pokemon. How this "soul linking" is achieved is up to discussion. And of course, things will have to be tweaked and balanced out properly, but I feel that the concept of a "soul link" with the opponent will add a nice twist to the game.
- Mirror the stat boosts of opponents, or cause a negative boost to yourself and mirror that onto the opponent.
- Absorb and bounce back status
- Or even switch into stealth rock and make the opponent take that same damage that you just took. In fact, this would be a way to cut down a little on entry hazards' domination of the current metagame.
Concept: Gengar counter
Description: A physical-oriented sweeper with great sweeping potential in terms of speed and offense. Also has a decent HP stat. Can come in on a number of Gengar's attacks and counter with strong, super-effective stab attacks, such as a dark type move. Also has a way of dealing with sleep.

Even if it doesn't recommend a specific ability it still is ability dependent. Also, look at the last custom ability we made.
Description: A Pkm that gets a monster in Sun, increasing its stat(s) every turn if the sun shines. Whole boost disappears if the sun does.
Which one? Mountaineer?

Not necessarily. A lot of things are resistant to electric, though there are less that are resistant to ghost. Dragon, Electric, Grass, and Ground are all resistant or immune to electric. Ghost only has Dark, Normal, and Steel, but still. It's not specifically stating a certain type(s), so it would have to be allowed or else we can't use any counters as concepts, including Garchomp counters. That doesnt change the fact that he described a Dark/Ground Weavile.
And Garchomp counter is actually much more restrictive as far as typing goes. But I don't like the Gengar counter description only because he said it must be physical-based (one step), fast (another step), and have decent HP (a duh, but still another restriction). Dark type move was an example, although Ghost is only weak to Dark and Ghost iirc, and floating Poison is only weak to Psychic. (Wow, I just realized how good Gengar's typing really is, 3 immunities, 2 4x resists, a few normal resists, and 3 uncommon weaknesses.)Not necessarily.
The point of the CAP isn't to centeralize the metagame by making sure-fire counters to existing pokemon. The point is to EXPAND the metagame.
Maybe, but i was thinking more along more of weather changing the roles, no matter what the weather in play Castform is still stuck as a crappy sweeper.
