Personally I don't like Venomocho, It doesn't roll off the tongue, its cumbersome, and it doesn't fit really. The only one i really like is Fidgit.
 
It may be just because its my name, but I think that Ragnotto isn't getting some attention. It's not a very "scary" name how you are putting it (I don't think that Venomocho is either, but it may connotate scariness because of the 'Venom' part of the name). Ragnotto also goes along with the somewhat goofy or unserious look of this. Again, just making a case for Ragnotto (RAG-not-toe).

That's perfectly fine that you have your own opinions, I just don't agree with everyone who says it doesn't fit some kind of imaginary criteria.

1. I'm so tired of people that give these "rules" out without checking themselves beforehand, it's just spreading misinformation. Holy crap, white shiny sprites? Pokemon with their own roles in their names?

I've found numerous exceptions by checking on serebii for like 2 minutes. I'm no pokemon buff but it's embarassing how easy it is.

2. I don't see what everyone finds so objectionable about names on this guy -- just about anything does go, names that suck will be ignored anyway.

3. It isn't even that cute (those are some creepy eyes).

4. Oh my god, a poison reference (because pokemon has never referenced hazerdous materials/weapons) COMBINED with the spanish word for the number eight?!

I'm petrified.
 
Hmmmm, I didn't like Venomocho at first, then I did, then I did.
It reminds me too much of Ludicolo and this thing doesn't look Spanish, nor does it have any Spanish ties at all.
And I don't like anything with Arachnid because it's not too "spider-like" aside from having 8 arms/legs. That's like tying Gardevoir to a dress because it seems like it's wearing one. I just don't like it. It doesn't feel right when being spoken.
The ones I like:
Fidgit
Tactric (I think I'll spell it like this from now on)
Harvesand

I'm trying to think of another good name to "submit"

Edit: May I suggest trying a name with "Finger" as one of the main words? I think something as simple as "Fing" would suffice. I mean, how do you "fing?"
 
I think ParadOxymoron has a point. I think some of the names just don't create the image of what we want.

My only problem with Venomocho is that when I hear it, I can't help thinking of some dark, intimidating spanish creature.

While some names actually do paint a more accurate picture of DLL in my head. (like mine, Harvesand, it incorporates many aspects of this pokemon, but when you say it, it sounds like one name) I'm not saying you shouldn't vote for any of these, it's just my opinion that some don't sound quite right.

If Harvesand was used, you know everyone would just shorten it to "Harvey". Depending on what you think of the nickname Harvey, that could be a good or bad thing....
 
I'm agreeing with Omgthatkid and Tennis here, a lot of the names suggested so far just don't have that "feeling". Yes it sounds ridiculous and irrational, but naming isn't really logical to begin with.

So far I only liked Polypom, Fidgit and Tactric, but I wish they had more syllables. I felt this Pokemon needed a multisyllabic name, which is why I tried to come up with names like Fijitwitch/Fidgitwich/Fidgetwich/however you want to spell it. Hopefully more people will go with that idea.
A lot of the names so far that include poison/spider references make me think of dark crawling creatures that hiss. :/

Otra- Coming from the Romanian, "Otrava", meaning Poison. Poison type...

mana- the new Romanian spelling for the word "hands". It has many hands...
 
Personally, I REALLY like the Hanndi, although the spelling can be messed with a bit.
It represents that it has HANDS, and utility is obviously HANDY.
Great idea, simple, catchy, representative.
Maybe "Handey" or "Handiman" or something.
Suggestions?
 
I actually like Fidgit best. I suppose it doesn't refer to the types, but it's catchy and it captures his appearance in a word. Isn't that the point?

EDIT: Actually, I agree with X Presumptuous. I'm starting to feel like a more complicated name would be more suited to him. Fidgitwitch has a nice ring.

I actually like pokemon names that are easily shortened to nicknames, so I guess that's a good thing. It makes it easier to refer to them in discussion and gives the feeling that they are already well-loved standards. (Skarm, bliss, cress, mence, nape, luke, and duggy all come to mind).

What do you guys think of these? I want to know if these are crap or not xP.
 
If you want to know my opinion, I might aswell tell you what I think. To me, I don't think the flow of the names, it doesn't suite the pokemon itself. And it isn't a very nice sounding/looking name imo.

OK, thanks, thought Latin and Romanian would be a bit much, but whatever...
 
I love Fidgit. The only problem with it (in my opinion) is that it doesn't quite sound "pokemonish." What I think would remedy that is adding another syllable at the end. I think changing Fidgit to Fidgiti would make it sounds a bit more "pokemonish". Not only that, Fidgiti ends like the word utility. Finger+Digit+Utility.

While i agree that an extra sylable would greatly improve it, i think that it pronounciation being the same as fidgety is a bad move... because the pokemon itself is not fidgety. maybe Fidgitool? or something like that... incorperating a new word without making it into a whole new word...
 
Yay, someone agreed with me...
Anyway, I still believe there's some untouched potential in "Fing."
I also agree that this name could be a bit more..."syllabled."

Fing...fing, fing, fing, fing....
Fingletti?
