I have a problem with Nasty Pass submitting that. He didn't make it, he just re-shaded and recolored that. Almost anyone could do that. Thats like taking a painting and making a few new strokes here and there, then calling it your own. Sunday touched upon this issue very briefly, but it's really important. They look exactly the same. I don't think Sunday should allow this in.
NP, I like that sprite infinitely more than your other two! One thing that sticks out at me is the hands, they seem to small. I definitely think it has potential though.
So what would bump my sprite up from a "maybe good" to a "definitely good" or "outstanding"?
the hands in the very back (both sets) of the non shiny sprite should have more black in their outline, and both sets of the front hands should have lighter outlines.Wow! It's amazing what a difference the new face made. The face occupies relatively few pixels in the sprite, but it obviously made a big impact in how people perceive the sprite. I'm glad people think it is an improvement. I like it a lot better too!
The feedback on the eyes seems to indicate a preference for the "piercing stare". With an ability like Vital Spirit, I think the "eyes wide open" look is actually more appropriate now.

I normally don't like changing my art based on suggestions, but I have taken a completely different approach on this sprite. I have tried to keep an open mind about all suggestions, no matter how small, and try to incorporate as much of it into the sprite as possible. Since the base design is not my own, I think I am detached enough to not take any feedback personally and simply keep revising it over and over. When I look at how much better this sprite has become, as a result of taking suggestions, it's surprising. I normally don't work this way, but it's been a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone who has given me suggestions for improvement.
The body does look a bit big to me. In the original art piece it's a bit smaller in appearance than most of the hands, while in your sprite it's a bit bigger. The connection areas where the legs meet the body seem a little too crowded, too - the legs looking very thin was something I'd always liked about the design. I love the color scheme on the left, while the one on the right is more "poisony." But considering its a shiny, it really doesn't need to stick to its type colors, so I'd go with the one on the left, if only because its more eye catching and fun.Here's my recent sprite.
