CAP 5 CAP 5 - Part 3 (Secondary Typing Poll 1)

Fighting - a Rocky Fighter who gets a boost in sand seems cool to me for some reason and its a typing that hasn't been done before offcially also rock/fighting gets good type coverage together.

Electric - Probopass could had been so much cooler if was rock electric and this is a chance to make this typing shine and like my above choice it hasn't been done yet offically and it gets a 4x weak to keep it from being too overpowered.

1. No secondary typing
2. Bug

If we added a secondary type, things get very complicated. We will have to break the mold of that type too, and the only other types that would fit would be Fighting or Ground to complement Rock. Ground adds horrible weaknesses and I don't like the idea of a Rock/Fighting Pokemon. Bug is interesting, because it is generally known as a physical type, with Heracross and Ninjask and the like. I'd like to see a Bug special sweeper that doesn't have Flying attached to it.

1:flying woudln't a rock -flying type be awesome i would love that pokemon. electric and ice are countererd by rock so is only weakness are
going to be steel and water
2 no secondary type steel and ground are to common and fighting isn't good+ electric gives grass an upperhand

1. No secondary type
We haven't done a mono-type CaP yet, and doing it with this one would mean we would only have one mould to break.

2. Ground
That old favourite, Rock/Ground. Figured if we have to have a second type, we might as well make it a common combination.

rock flying = aerodactyl ;)
rock bug = shuckle and is rock weak..
both dont really bring much SpA moves to the table either

1. fire, give it levitate to remove ground weak as well as grass and fire (beats pyroak)

2. Dragon - removes a fair chunk of the rock weakness

Choice 1: No Second Typing
Choice 2: Ground

From previous comments i believe its safe to say that people want a Rock based Special sweeper from this concept. For this to work and also to "Break The Mold" of rock types this pokemon will probably have to be fast and have good special attack.

With this in mind for the secondary typing i discarded all the types that already have this stereotype or have good examples of pokemon that fit this mold in OU of being either Fast or/and having good special attack. It is hardly " Breaking the Mold" is we have a fast, special sweeper then make it part electric or part ghost just like Gengar.

Normal- Porygon Z
Fire- Infernape
Water- Starmie
Grass- Roserade
Ice- Weavile
Fighting- Lucario
Bug- Yanmega
Dark- Houndoom, Weavile
Electric-Raikou
Flying- Togekiss
Ghost-Gengar,Mismagius
Poison- Roserade,Gengar
Psychic- Alakazam, Azelf

This left me with Rock/Ground or Mono Rock.

I'd just like to point out that Lucario has only 90 speed and pretty equal offenses so is a mixed sweeper not a special sweeper by stats.

Dugtrio has 120 speed... OMG A FAST GROUND HOW CAN WE BREAK THE MOLD NOW?! >_>

Also, didn't we just make a fast Ground type with higher special attack? Begins with F, ends with 'idgit'.

What if we want to know? What if we put them in whitetext? I'd be inclined to count for myself anyway.

What if you read and understand the rules before posting?

From the "CAP Process Guide" topic:

Third is the "bold poll", where the voters must make a post with their votes cast in bold font. Make sure that, in a poll based on this method to make it clear that no one is to post the current tally of votes. Only the Topic Leader is to do this, if they wish to at any point up to the end of the vote.

Next time, read and understand the rules before posting. Or at least, before complaining.

Paradoxymoron, if you want to know what is winning, you can count them up yourself, and then refrain from posting the results or to tell them to anyone. You are perfectly allowed to do that.

1. No secondary typing.
As has been said, there haven't been any single-type CAP Pokémon yet. Also, one of the reasons some of the other CAP Pokémon (especially the first two) are so powerful (borderline broken) is because of their second type. Revenankh would be nowhere near as threatening if it was pure Ghost.
Besides, we need to get experience with a single type.

2. Dark.
If we're going to have a second type, Dark would be a nice choice. A dual weakness is always an interesting thing - a lot of the other Pokémon in the OU metagame also have one (Heracross, Salamence, Heatran etc). Again, Dark types aren't really known for Special sweeping (which this project will end up being). Also, there's a sore lack of Dark-types in the standard metagame, with only Tyranitar, Weavile and Spiritomb being OU.

EDIT: I just realised Rock/Dark is the same type as Tyranitar. However, if it plays a different role, I don't see why not. See Metagross and Bronzong.

1. Grass
2. No secondary

Grass would give him really great coverage with his STAB moves and the noticeable lack of weaknesses is a major bonus.

1. Grass
2. Fighting

Well I'm choosing Grass because there's been talk of this being a Technician Pokemon so that Ancientpower won't suck so much. I think that plus Technician Giga Drain would be pretty awesome and help "break the mold". Rock Pokemon almost always are all countered by the same Pokemon- Vaporeon, Milotic, Swampert... which are now rendered useless counters because of the Grass typing. I think this is the wisest choice.

Most Rock Pokemon are slow, and as we ant to "break the mold", making it fast seems like a good option. This makes Fighting a favorable choice.

The count thus far dfghiaudsrjk

Choice 1: Dragon
Choice 2: Flying

Changing my vote. The idea of a Rock/Dragon now is pretty appealing to me. And we can also break the mold of the Dragon-types NOT giving it a reliable way to handle Steel-types :D

1. Bug
2. No Secondary Type

Rock/Bug would make an interesting combo, as the only other special bug sweeper is yanmega. Rock/Grass would have been good, but most grass are sp. sweepers and I fear that Grass would overtake the rock aspect of the poke. No second type is also good, as previously stated, there are only a few rock only pokes.

1. No Secondary Typing i think that would kinda brake the mold. only pure rock type is regirock IRRC
2. Dragon Because the art design would be amazing.

Some clarifications.

Rock/Bug would make an interesting combo, as the only other special bug sweeper is yanmega.

Syclant.

only pure rock type is regirock IRRC

Bonsly, Sudowoodo, Cranidos, Rampardos, Nosepass, Regirock. However, all are physical and slow.

Also, if anyone else posts a premature count I will not count your vote and I will ask for an infraction. This goes for every bold vote from here on out.

I'm glad you recognize this too.
We can break the mold by more means than just by typing.
Dragon types tend to have Fire Attacks to accompany their Dragon STAB moves.
Another way to "break the mold" would be to shape this Pokemon's movepool differently. Rock Pokemon tend to have Ground type moves, so we could give this Pokemon a different move type to accentuate the Rock STAB.

Choice 1: Bug
Rock's 70 BP SpA STAB needs some help, if it's gonna lean towards special sweeper. And the always-useful resist to make Ground neutral.

Choice 2: No Secondary Type
A mono-rock would be interesting to use.

This is going to close in ~24 hours. I was going to close it later today, but I have a cookout to go to.
