Levitate
Rough Skin

Side Poll 2: Yes

Rough Skin is a cool ability and I'd like to see it used. I also can't see this guy with Technician, and I think it's perfectly fine if it gets a new move, which I'm usually against.

Aftermath
Levitate

Side Poll 2 YES

I am tired of seeing Technician Pokémon that already exist =/ Aftermath is a neat but scarce ability. Levitate was just obvious to me as, I mean, look at it, it's levitating... And I couldn't think of anything that I preferred more, except the non-existent option, Tinted Lens. =/

If this Pokémon is going to break the mould then I want to see it with its own unique move.

Levitate
Rough Skin

Side Poll 2: Yes
I like Levitate on it, because the thing is levitating after all. Rough Skin mostly because I want to see it on some new stuff. I want a new move because tbh, Power Gem and Ancient Power aren't exactly great options for special rock moves.

Levitate
Aftermath

Side Poll 2: Yes

For Levitate, it would give the pokemon some good switch ins, and with it's defenses I don't think it would get many. I also can't help but see the art as floating in the air.

For Aftermath, like others have already said, it will make people think twice before KOing with a contact attack.

Yes on a new move because it would help, and I don't think it would be too over powered or anything.

I voted yes on the gender poll because if Geodude can have a gender, so can this. Not to mention the access to egg moves.

Sniper
Inner Focus

Reasoning - This guy looks pretty focused to me, and as such I feel that Inner Focus and Sniper are both awesome and could pose a decent threat still in the metagame. Don't care for Mold Breaker or Intimidate. Rocks are not Limber, nor do they have Rough 'Skin'; and Clear Body doesn't seem to fit well enough for me. Aftermath, Technician, and Pressure just don't feel right to me, though they're a possibility. Levitate makes the most sense, I just like these other two better.

Side Poll 1: Yes - Most rock types have genders, even though they wouldn't appear to...

Side Poll 2: No - I prefer not to make another move, but making ONE would not be terrible.

Aftermath
Tinted Lens

Side Poll: Yes.

I don't care that much for a new move, but it allows for a lot more room. If we think we need one, lets make one.

Levitate
Technician

Levitate gives something to easily switch in on and Technician because I didn't really like any of the other choices.

Side Poll 2: Yes

Why not? It would let it use an ability other than Technician and still have a good STAB.

Aftermath
Intimidate

Side Poll 2: Yes

Power Gem and Ancient Power need some love, and the aren't THAT bad. But we want him to use rock moves to break the mold, so a move that basically forces you to use it wouldn't be bad. Though I don't really care either way, as Power gem is already pretty good.

Limber
Levitate

The thing hovers. Levitate is an obvious choice (although Bronzong has Heatproof, sooo...) Limber because Paralysis is annoying and my sweeper does NOT want it.

Side Poll 2: Yes.

Nothing too strong. But Alakazam/Azelf get Psychic, Fires get Flamethrower, there are Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Bug Buzz, the list goes on. Why not a rock one for our new buddy?

Side Poll 1: (Clicky) Should this have a gender? No. Genders are for loser.
Side Poll 2: (Bold) Should we bother with a new move? No.

Actual ability poll:
Levitate
I don't think it should have another ability, but since I have to vote, I'll vote: Technician

Levitate:

Gives a handy Ground immunity for switch-ins to a lot of the most popular threats in OU... probably the best bet for RockMon

Limber:

Gives paralysis immunity which is extremely valuable when trying to keep a sweep going.

I want to advocate AGAINST the power boosting abilities. All of this extra power that Adaptability / Technician / etc... It's all going to be superfluous and unneeded. Assuming we get a new move (seems to be the case according to the voting trends) it's going to sweep just fine without that added boost. And the extra power afforded isn't going to make it stop the number one threat to its sweep, Blissey. It's just not worth wasting our ability on extra, unneeded power.

Vote for something that helps it actually get IN to play, rather than something that isn't necessary to do its job.

Side Poll 2 : YES

Technician
Mold Breaker
Alright, I eliminated all the ones that sounded "broken" (lol Limber) to me, and tried to think of the ones most useful. As Special Rock attacks are limited to Ancientpower and Power Gem, Technician seems like the obvious pick. This boosts AncientPower's.... power, and thus would help him out a bit. The second might be less useful, but it fits the theme of the Pokemon well, and if it gets Earth Power it might be useful or something.

Side Poll 2: No, the only new move that would really help it would be a stronger Special Rock move, but why bother when you could just make the ability Technician?

Levitate-definitely looks like it is floating, and gets rid of ground weak as a bonus.
Aftermath-i figured what the hell, there need to be more viable users of this ability, and will make people think twice about KOing it with a direct attack. could cause switches or something else useful.

SIde Poll II- yes, since i decided no on technician, it will need a usable special rock stab.

Why? Because if you make technician solely for the basis of making a somewhat usable move out of Ancient Power, then you've wasted this Pokemon's ability. Especially with only one STAB taking advantage of it.

He could also get other Technician moves. Forgive me if movepool discussion already happened, but stuff like, I dunno, Magical Leaf or Silver Wind or something could creep in there. Silver Wind in particular helps get coverage with Rock attacks combined with Earth Power.

1. Mold Breaker
2. Aftermath

Technician is a very close third here.

Side Poll: Yes

However, that switches to No if we give it Technician/Adaptibility.

Technician
Levitate

Side Poll 2: No

To be honest, I'm not very fond of having both the new move poll and the ability poll in one thread. If this gets Technician, there's no need for a new move in my opinion, but otherwise, I do want this thing to have a Special move that doesn't cap at 70 BP. Above is just my overall vote if this concern gets no echo.

For the abilities, Technician is my favourite one that also makes sense to me art-wise. I know art-wise is secondary, though, but still. I have nothing against a Pokemon that gets lucky like 10-19% of the time in a match. Even if there turns out a lot of controversy about Ancientpower, we can always have a vote on whether it should get Ancientpower or be stuck with 59-60 BP HP Rock.

Levitate is secondary, because it'll help him a lot. I feel that this thing should actually not have a lot of opportunity to switch in, but the other abilities aren't of much help to him, so bleh.

For genderless, it doesn't matter competitively, so I'm just gonna go ahead and say that if this thing had a penis/vagina, it would be floating along with one of its limbs. Which is disturbing.

I hope the 93 people (at the moment this is being typed) who want this pokemon to be genderless all understand that genderless pokemon don't get egg moves.

To be honest I didn't think of this, but I'm not too worried. It seems as if most of this thing's useful moves will come from Tutor/TMs, like with most Pokemon. If this thing were supportive like Fidgit, it would probably require the egg move slots, but in this case, things like Ice Beam and Earth Power can all be taught to it without breeding.

#1: Limber

#2: Levitate

New Move: Yes, at base 90

Limber 1st, to make sure it make the next poll. Levitate seems inevitable.

I actually would be in full support of Technician. Utilizing base 60 moves and 90 base Hidden Powers is awesome. But only on the provision that a New Move was created and Ancient Power was NOT including in it's move pool.

The stat boost provided by Ancient Power, even at only 10% of the time, is too overwhelming. I don't understand why more of you don't realize that!

If I thought the rest of you would actually go with that compromise, then i'd happily exchange Limber for Technician. But I don't think you guys will. So i have to vote against it.
