Go Mag's concept. I was originally against the advent of using a partner Pokemon, but it could turn out absolutely amazing if done right.

I like Low BST. Seriously, how could anything with low Base Stats be a staller (without getting a gimmicky ability)? I'd go with this concept even if I was afraid of another staller.

With all my favourite concepts gone, Ultimate Scout gets my support. It is an original idea with alot of scope that would greatly aid this very prediction reliant metagame.

Conveniently, it being the concept that DougJustDoug is supporting, allows me to tip my hat to the Best Overall Smogoner - DJD - well done for all your hard work with CAP so far and here's to another year of great leadership, guidance and participation from you Doug.

Since Anti-Stall is gone, I have to go with ultamite scout. I personally love U-turn, and i also detest the other two concepts.

I voted Ultimate Scout, but I really would not be disappointed if Low BST or Partner in Crime wins because these are really some quality concept submissions.

I dont really get too worked up over concepts like I do the art (damn you aragornbird!!!).

ANyway, I'm changeing my vote to partner in crime, since it could be a scout pokemon o_0

Partner in Crime.

Ultimate Scout might end up forcing switches, which would just make Stall even better (because they use entry hazards).

Low BST

Seems like a very good concept. A Pokemon that acts like a more usable version of a Wobbuffet or Shedinja would prove interesting in competitive play.

Ok, so I have no idea why Ultimate Scout is winning, because it's not even a very defined concept.

There are really only two ways you can even be a scout. One way is through use of U-Turn / Protect... and we seriously don't need to base an entire CAP over these two moves. The other way is through being a good mixed wall that can switch in to the majority of threats at least once without being completely destroyed. Cresselia comes to mind as an excellent scout as so few Pokemon can actually OHKO it, and it makes a great transition Pokemon when figuring out a set.

I'm just saying that it's really not that great of a concept and without some kind of new scouting tool, it's really not going to even be doing anything. Not to mention... do we really want another defensive Pokemon for CAP? Not me...

Low BST isn't even a concept. It's just an arbitrary restriction that won't even begin to point us in any direction when the next threads come around.

Partner In Crime is the only concept left that is.... actually a concept. Or at least one that can be discussed / fleshed out. So come on guys, vote it.

Does the "Ultimate Scout" have to use those moves? Look at Strategem, it uses Paleo Wave, which isn't a "valid" move. It can also have an ability like Frisk. It's not just U-turn and Protect.

Who says it has to be defensive? And, it'll do plenty, as scouting is an important part of the game. For example, if you switch in Yanmega, the opponent will probably switch in their counter, meaning you can save Yanmega for later in the game, which is essentially scouting. I, too, don't want another defensive Pokemon in CAP, but who says it has to be defensive if it's a scout? Partner in Crime could be defensive as well.

There is also frisk and knockoff to see items, forewarn and anticipation to hint at attacks, and dry baton passing (from something fast) to see switches. Knock off and frisk can reveal entire movesets on certain things, like whether a lucario could be a specs or swords dancer. Forewarn and anticipation both can help decide movesets. Baton pass can help see things like whether things like gyrados could carry Earthquake, or if it is bulky and only carries Stone Edge.

There is also the option of creating something new, although i know CAP is pretty firmly against that.

There are more ways than just those to scout an opponent's team. Anything that is used in the gaining of knowledge about your opponent's team can be classified as scouting. A simple example is Roar. There are more, but I won't elaborate until the movepool discussions.

I voted for Ultimate Scout. I believe that its a much more open concept, and gives us lots of wiggle room, which I like.

Let's stop arguing about whether one of the options for this poll is a "concept" or not. The moderators (Doug, darkie, and myself) and the TL have been very careful with selecting and approving the concepts for this poll, so cut the pointless bickering.

voted ultimate scout. If it ends up with frisk, it will fulfill what my concept was :P. That's not why I chose it though - it just seems like a fun concept.

I just dunno about PIC and BST... while they are definitely good concepts, they just seem like the kind of thing that could also come about by accident. If ultimate scout wins, its very likely it would work very well with any pokemon that needs good prediction. Its also possible our scout will have a low BST. Essentially, its possible for all three concepts to be fulfilled at once...

I think we can work with any of these final three. But, I still think Beej's Ultimate Scout is the most appealing concept for a CAP project.

People talk about "scouting" in pokemon all the time. I'm not sure we really know what that term really means. As some have mentioned, it could just refer to a good mixed wall. I hope not. I think scouting goes much deeper than that. Like darkie, I think there are many subtleties to scouting that have not been fully explored in the metagame -- mainly because there are few pokemon suited to the task. This CAP project could be a great opportunity to explore the finer points of scouting, much in the way that Fidgit allowed us to explore utility pokemon in great detail.
