Name: Stop the Secondary
Description: A Pokémon that through means of ability, moves, and typing, can stop a variety of the non damaging affect of moves and moves of non damaging origin.

Justification: While the immediate threat of damaging moves is large and present, the affect of moves such as status, Trick, Leech Seed, Taunt, Stealth Rock, Spikes have arguably had a greater affect to the metagame than anything has ever had, something that this would greatly look in to.

Questions to be Answered:
~ How easily would a Pokémon with such large of a niche be able to fit into a competitive team?
~ How large of an impact would the reducation of non damaging affects and moves have on the metagame?

- What, if any, would happen to the types of teams being used?
- How would this affect the usage of these types of moves?​

~ How much of an affect does typing have on the ability for ANY Pokémon to perform this duty?

Initially I had Cartoons! early here. But now, it was a toss up between Doug's and Chaoscrippler for the sole purpose of having a different pose and showing some "flare" instead of being a lazyass. I ended up with chaoscrippler's because it had the right bulk and looked really fast. Doug's just looked too thin for someone with a titatinic HP, but it looked fast. Voted Chaoscrippler. gl people

I went with aragornbird's; it looks exactly like the actual design, and I'm digging (pun not intended) the purple-and-black color scheme on the Shiny version.

It was a tough decision since everyone has perfected their sprites, but I ended up with Koa's sprite, who I liked from the start. His unique pose was perfected and looks very professional. The colors were done extremely well and both sprites, normal and shiny, give the dark look. I would be very happy to see this sprite as Collosoil's.

As for everyone else... Nice job!! You have all done well with your sprites and I am happy the way that they came out. Good luck :)

I tried to pick which sprite had the best quality's for this pokemon.
Speed-Doug's was best, it just looks fast.
Attack-aragornbird's looks the most 'pound-your-face-in' to me
Dark-same as attack, looks more menacing
Ground-wyverii's has a good depiction of the earth around Colossoil and the most earth-like colors
Auto-Magic Coat-cartoon's looks the bulkiest and the one ready to take secondary effects
HP-cartoon's, again, looks bulkiest

Overall-I went with Clawed Nyasu. Has good, but not great, reflections of what I listed above. Only draw-back for me is no sand or earth around the pokemon. Also, Clawed Nyasu's reminds me of Walrein.

I love Clawed Nyasu's frontsprite, but the backsprite is meh. Cartoons! has a good all rounder, but in the end, I went for KoA

I went with aragornbird, because his sprite looks a lot like the original design and it actually looks like it would be in a Pokemon game. But, it was a tough choice. Between Doug's KoA's, Clawed Nyasu's and aragornbird's, it was hard to decide. In the end, however, I had to go with aragornbird.

I just realized something. Haven't the first-round sprite polls in the past been Multiple Choice? I'm having a hard time choosing a vote, and it seems like not letting people cast votes for their second/third favorites will limit it too much.

I chose Koa because he has a nice pose and shading, and it is not TOO skinny. I think it is perfecto!

Clawed Nyasu got my vote, although there are some VERY good other entries as well. His front sprite sold it for me.
The ability to vote for 2nd and 3rd favourites would be good though.

Voted Aragornbird, his sprite is basically a genuine sprite from D/P/Pt. It's completely in the sprite style of the games and the pose is good too. It was REALLY close between AB and Chaosscribbler, his sprite is excellent too and the pose is dynamic and nice.

I voted Cartoons!, it just... looks right. It's not the most dynamic pose, but everything about it fits the nature of Colossoil perfectly, and I love how huge and intimidating it manages to be. It also looks like an intelligent and cunning creature, so you could attribute that base 95 speed to it being quick witted rather than physically fast (like Alakazam and Electrode).

I also really liked the dynamic poses from KoA and DougJustDoug, the unique pose from Clawed Nyasu, and Chaoscrippler's menacing design that screams "Oshit a Narwhal!!!"

Personally, I feel that KOA's sprite is the best, both front and back, I don't know why... it just looks more striking. Art is not my forte, so I have no clue about artistic things, but, hey, it looks good.

Side note: Aw man, Fizznip won the movepool... that means Moonlight... which means we'll see if it's broken or not...

Which it isn't. Seriously, Sand Stream is going be even more common than it normally is thanks to Colossy being walled by Hippo.

Anyway, I'm voting aragornbird to thicken the plot. Plus I like his sprite better overall than KOA's (I'll get over the partial purple shiny, since it's also black, my favorite colour)

Voted for Cartoons!, both because the sprite fits the stats very well (except maybe speed), and because it looks the most Pokemony, If you know what I'm saying. These are still Pokemon, and this one looks as if it would belong right in the game with the best of them.

Man, my favorites are Cartoons!, pkmn-taicho, and Wyverii. The horn looks perfect on Cartoons!'s, the colors are great and pkmn-taicho's, and Wyverii's looks amazingly sinister (Cartoons looks sinister as well.)

In the end, I'ma go with Cartoons! as it's pretty rounded out.

Ah. I was rather dissappointed by the huge lack of crit given to me this time around during submissions. I don't know where I have gone wrong and it appears that i'll end up near the bottom of the pack. I really thought I did my best work this time around so it's quite a blow to my ego. I suppose it'll teach me for that eh? Eheheh.

I'm glad cartoons! submission is winning. It's my preferred sprite set after my own. It oozes personality and is well done in most technical aspects. The dithering is pretty tasteful too.

 

[The Other Doug]

Although many of these sprites are amazing, I had to go with cartoons for a few reasons:
1. His sprite looks huge! I feel that Colossoil's sprite should be gigantic for two reasons: The fact that Colossoil has a large HP stat, and the fact that the name Colossoil implies hugeness.

2. The look on the sprite's face is exactly how I imagined it. I picture Colossoil as a cocky & prideful Pokemon, and Cartoons' sprite captures that personality perfectly.

3. It looks like a whale! Some of the sprites here (KoA for example) don't look like whales. (But KoA's sprite still is amazing.)

Hmmm... these are all wonderful!!! I especially like Clawed Nyasu's, Cartoons', KoA's, and aragornbird's. It was interesting while lurking in the sprite thread to see all of theses sprites evolve into beautiful works of art. Great job guys!

Although this voting sesion isn't nearly as close as the movepool one (that was exiting, although I'm dissipointed that the Admiral lost...) it will be interesting to see the secondary voteing.

Going aragornbird. I liked the horn the best, and the different patterns for the male and female sprites were clever. The ground was also done very well on this sprite.

There are a lot of excellent sprites here, so honestly I would be happy if anyone won.

I voted Aragornbird. As I said, Aragorn's sprite makes me want to use Colossoil. The shape, pose, and feel given off capture Cyzir's art perfectly. The subtlties that are captured with the differences between the Male & Female, as well as with the shinies is remarkable to me. The pose is aggressive and dynamic, and stays true to Cyzir's art. Also, of all the sprites, I felt that Aragorn's was the closest to the D/P/P/HG/SS style, and I am a fan of that style.

Cartoons!'s is my second favorite, however the bulkiness of his sprite doesn't scream 95 base speed to me, though it does suggest the high health. Also, the shiny scheme he chose was not my favorite out of all of the sprites submitted. Great job everyone who submitted their sprites!

 

[Wombat Sky Forme]

Voted aragornbird. I had it down to Cartoons!, aragornbird, Wyverii, KoA, and Clawed Nyasu. I eliminated KoA and Wyverii because I really like them, but they were my least favorite out of all my favorites. Cartoons! got eliminated because the front sprite is AMAZING, but the back sprite makes him look sort of fat as opposed to muscular. I really couldn't decide between AB and CN, but I decided that I didn't quite like the curved fin on the back sprite.

So artists DO NOT TAKE MY COMMENTS AS INSULTS! All of these were really good, it's just hard for me to overlook the least important things.
