CAP Champions League IV – Manager Signups

(layout borrowed from shnowshner's CAPCL III thread, thanks in advance)​

Following the conclusion of the policy thread, we're finally kicking off CAPCL proper! As is custom with any team tournament, we're looking for qualified users to manage each team. What this generally involves is scouting out each player who signs up, formulating a coherent strategy for the draft, maintaining correspondence with myself and kenn in regards to weekly lineups and potential substitutions, keeping your team active and well coordinated, and approaching staff with any issues as the tournament progresses.

We need six different teams this season, run by one manager and assistant manager each. The length of the tournament will be no less than 7 Weeks after player signups close and the auction is held. Player Signups are scheduled for December 22nd and will last about two weeks total.

Any managerial duos that have the time, experience, and motivation to participate are encouraged to signup! Please use the following template in your signup post:

Signups last until December 26th! I'm extending the period to a day past Christmas for what I hope are obvious reasons.

Achievements: I got drunk and professed my love for spoo in Berlin outside a closed McDonald's at 2am. Spoo managed to live in Chicago for 3 months with no money no job no hoes dry lips and 4 60mg edibles.

We will be elated to not be chosen

Why you would make a good manager: A wise man once told me, in order to be capable of winning a team tournament you must have the character to do so which is what me and Binpin carry. We have cultivated a beautiful team environment in CAPCL 3 and we look to replicate that here !

List of Accomplishments: If we are talking about smogon related we both have near close to nothing due to previous years being busy for us if im being honest.
Why you would make a good manager: If it’s smogon related, damn near close to none but I have leadership experience from the military if that helps.

Da Pizza Man would like to take a break from managing this CAPCL, so I asked fellow Skwovet Fragments to carry on the legacy with me. We won last year and can guarentee a great run this year. Fragments and I will foster a great team environment and a competitive run this tour.

Also note how the first tour without BW is the one that tier is banned? Conspiracy?

SHSP and I will be managing the Chicago White Shox.
SHSP twopeated CAPPL and then drafted me and lost. I got drafted by SHSP and subsequently ended his threepeat hopes. Consequently, we are an excellent pairing. Additionally, between the two of us, we produce enough hatred to power a mid-market city - an oft-overlooked trait which is very important in modern managers.

Manager signups looking dire so It's time for me to do something about it.

Me and Zcarlett will be managing the luxurious dairy company named the :miltank: :hoothoot: Kookoo Quesos :hoothoot: :miltank:

I have managed in the past and most recently had decent amounts of activity in the latest CAP team tours, Being a Star support for the Skwovets to their Capcl victory and being part of the lineup of CAPPL finalists Heartbreaker Hemogoblins. Zcarlett is a very active player and manager who can ensure to be there for her team. We can both ensure to give our best to make our players happy and have an great CAPCL run.

Teamname: Astronomical Astrolotl
Accomplishments: i got 2nd place on CAPPL 7 as co captain with Nalorium, losing on tiebreak. My co captain has experience managing Argentina on other forums like Pokemon Instict.
I want to get a revenge after a long Smogon (and CAP) hiatus and i going to give my 100% to acheive that. Balto is a very active person so he can give us continuous chat presence and help during building or scouting.

List of Accomplishments: I have won Chuggalong playtest, as well as placing
Fluore has:
  • played in CAP snake 1
  • won CAPPL 7
  • made playoffs in almost every auction team tour he managed
  • won BSSWC, AGWL, AGPL, BSPL as manager
Why you would make a good manager: I have lots of experience playing CAP, and Fluore has a lot of experience managing + some CAP experience. I also did a lot of scouting for other slots during CAPPL, and can build/test for several slots if needed.

Fragments never officially responded to the thread but did react to Concept's post positively, which I'll consider as good enough. I wanted a good mix of long-time users and newer faces to managing, and felt this selection had the best of both in terms of qualification. Thank you to everyone who signed up (not you Lasen); the Info/Admin and Commencement threads will get posted sometime when I return home from work, roughly four hours from now.
