UU Chatot

1st. Chatter isnt a bad move. Flying is not bad offensively, otherwise gale wings wouldnt be so good. Confusion isnt a bad thing, and confusion often forces switches. If confusion was so unreliable swagger wouldnt have been banned.

2nd. Encore IS a good reason because he asked why it should be used over pz, not alakazam. Alakazam is irrelevant here.

3rd. You act like pz has bulk, which it doesnt. It can take one or two hits at most, same as chatot with a sash. Also, every pokemon has counters lol. Aggron and Rhyperior counter it like heatran walls talonflame. Everything has counters and things that force switches, so saying counters are a reason to not use it is total bullshit. Stop trying to shut down chatot you are not QC. PLEASE go away.

Hello? Your opponent literally let you get a nasty plot for free by using spiky shield for no reason. He shouldve used hammer arm to bring you down to sash then finish you off with infernape, but he stupidly threw away a game he wouldve won easily.

Just an example lol. Why would he stay in anyway? I would have gotten off free there either way. Hammer arm would be stupid because chatter ohkos. Switch would be wise, in which I would have gotten off a nasty plot.

Dude its called long term thinking. Why in the world would you use spiky shield and risk giving the opponent the win STRAIGHT AWAY instead of just attacking in order to actually have a chance to turn the game around?

Swagger wasn't banned because confusion is unreliable, it is because SwagPlay was deemed ridiculous. Furthermore, Gale Wings isn't good because of the type it affects, it is good because of the fact that all moves of said type get their prioroty raised by one stage.
2nd. Encore IS a good reason because he asked why it should be used over pz, not alakazam. Alakazam is irrelevant here.
Mega Alakazam tend to carry Encore to set up CM with ease, and it can do it due to its blazing speed and monstrous special attack. Furthermore, it has good offensive typing.
3rd. You act like pz has bulk, which it doesnt. It can take one or two hits at most, same as chatot with a sash.
At least PZ can take a hit or two. Chatot is KO'd literally any neutral hit, making it reliant on Focus Sash to set up Nasty Plots.
Also, every pokemon has counters lol. Aggron and Rhyperior counter it like heatran walls talonflame. Everything has counters and things that force switches, so saying counters are a reason to not use it is total bullshit.
I never said they didn't, and I never said that was the only reason not to use it. The difference here is that Chatot is countered by nearly anything in UU with any offensive presence.
Stop trying to shut down chatot
I'm not treating it any harsher than any other pokemon which I consider inviable.
you are not QC. PLEASE go away.
I am not QC, but I am voicing my opinions. That is part of how C&C works, and telling someone to go away because of their opinions is not.

Alright you guys. Alakazam is totally beside the point and has nothing to do with pz. He would not have won I had plenty of pokes left. This analysis isnt a nitpick of a battle. You guys dont have to keep replying if you dont like it, nobody asked you.

I would appreciate if you let qc look at it more before any more replies. Thanks guys.

I wouldn't call Chatot's movepool severely lacking, as it does have good nifty support options like you mentioned, as well as actually having decent STAB options. A severely lacking movepool would be something like Serperior. I also wouldn't say completely walled by Steel-types, as it has Heat Wave, like you mention in OO. Otherwise, looks good.

QC 2/3

Just keep in note, Heat Wave is illegal with Boomburst due to Heat Wave being 5th gen exclusive and Boomburst being a 6th gen egg move.
*keeps fingers crossed for tutors in OR/AS*
Heat Wave would seriously make choiced sets a tad more appealing in conjunction with Boomburst

Overview

Chatot is a Generation 4 favorite, being well known for being the bird with its signature move, Chatter. In Generation 6, however, it gains access to the wonderful new STAB attack, Boomburst, with STAB. With its decent Speed and access to Nasty Plot, it has all the makings of an excellent Special sweeper. There are a few things holding it back, however. It lacks any bulk whatsoever,(RC) and is completely walled by Steel types, bar the rare Heat Wave (heat wave chariot isn't viable so no reson to mention it imo). Along with its nonexistent bulk, it has Lacking movepool. Chatot makes due with what it has, however, and with proper use is a big threat to the tier if used properly.

Moves

Chatot has only one main set, but it thrjves manages to get by with it. Nasty Plot is a set up move that the Set up move here, which boosts Chatot's Special Attack to an amazing level. Boomburst is a 140 Base Power the main. Normal STAB move which hits anything that is not a Ghost type extremely hard with a boost, a 140 base power move with no drawbacks. It also bypasses sSubstitute with the new gen 6 mechanics. Chatter is the secondary STAB move on the set that allows Chatot to confuse its opponent while dealing great damage and ridding to threats such as Heracross and Scrafty. The last slot is a tossup. This leaves it with the option of between Encore, Substitute, or and Hidden Power Grass. Encore can make the opponents pay when they use a predicted setup move such as stealth rock or swords dance (capitalize both move names) and allows Chatot to freely set up Nasty Plot while they either switch or stay in. Along with Chatter's confusion chance, this gives Chatot many opportunities to set up. this can be very dangerous. Substitute allows Chatot to dodge status, and in several cases,(AC) it can capitalize on an opponent trying to set up on it. Finally, Hidden Power Grass can be used as it hits common threats such as Rhyperior, Swampert, and Gastrodon.

Set Details
========

Chatot has maxed out Special Attack and Speed for maximum sweeping capabilities, with 4 in Def to take minimum Stealth Rock damage. The Focus Sash is to allow Chatot to set up at least one turn of Nasty Plot, while on the other hand, Leftovers can be used in tandem with Substitute as it allows for recovery while the foe is confused, and while Chatot is behind the Substitute, setting up. A Timid nature is for maximum speed to outspeed threats with a similar speed.

Usage Tips
========

Chatot needs lots of team support in order for it to be used succesfully. Chatot needs to set up in order to be useful, and the Focus sash (Capitalize the S) provides the this opportunity. Chatter can be used to confuse opponents and set up Nasty Plots while they are either confused or switching out. Substitute can allow Chatot to set up while its opponent is confused from Chatter. Stealth Rocks (no s) should always be eliminated in order for Chatot's sash to remain intact. Good spinners such as Donphan and Forretress aid in this case.

Team Options
========

Chatot is mainly a wallbreaker with boomburst Capitalize, so it nicely compliments bulky teams. Chatot needs a whole lot of support from teammates, including hazards like sticky web and stealth rocks capitalize, dual screens, and anything else it can get. It appreciates sticky web capitalize to outspeed common threats that it can beat that may otherwise beat it, such as Darmanitan, Mienshao, and any other non-Flyinghyphentype or levitate capitalize user. In this case, Shuckle is a great teammate which sets up hazards, and can encore opponents to allow Chatot a free Switch lowercase in. Lastly, a good special attacking Fire or Ground type such as Chandelure or Nidoking can deal well with opposing steel types.

Other Options
=========

Ther are not many other options for Chatot, unfortunately. It does have access to Heat Wave, but it is incompatible with its beat move, Boomburst. U-Turn and Ominous wind are other attacking options.
It has very low attack capitalize and almost no physical movepool. Chatot does have a very large utility set including Torment, Tailwind, Roost, Taunt, Defog, Rain Dance, and Sunny Day. It has access to Agility, but it already has decent speed.
Hit backspace here Lastly, it has access to sing, but is a bit too inaccurate for it to work properly.

Checks & Counters
########

**Faster pokemon**: Pokemon who outspeed base 91 Speed can all pretty much beat Chatot, as it is very frail. Fast Pokemon such as Noivern, Victini, and every pokemon caps with a Choice Scarf deal with it well.

**Priority Users**: Priority users can generally beat Chatot as long as its sash is broken, as it is once again extremely frail. Users of Fake out like Mienshao or Ambipom have no trouble beating Chatot, breaking its sash with Fake out and finishing off with another move. (I thought Mien doesn't run fake out anymore ?_?)

**Steel types**: Steel types like Doublade and Mageton completely wall Chatot and beat it with any attacking move.

**Rock Types**: Rock types, such as Mega-Aerodactyl and especially bulky ones like Rhyperior, have no trouble busting through Chatot. They should be wary of a boosted Hidden Power however.

**Electric types**: Most electric type pokemon caps can outspeed and KO with a STAB move, such as Jolteon or Raikou.
Lots of capitalization problems and redundancy.

Seems like one big run on to me. Not sure if it is though.

Obvious repeat is obvious.

U-Turn and Ominous wWind are other attacking options.

However, they or Rhyperior should be wary of a boosted Hidden Power Grass.
Not sure what to do here. This refers to Rhyperior mainly, as Boomburst actually does more to Mega-Aerodactyl.

Great job on this overall though LU! As for these changes, I would like some input on them. Would it also be too much trouble to ask you to fix them directly in the copypaste? Thanks again!
