I am a Black Jewish Quadriplegic Autistic Polyamorous Non-Binary Trans-Pansexual with PTSD, and it pains me to see people on this forum complain about their highly privileged lives. Yes, I'm talking to you, Eo Ut Mortus, you who believe it's so shameful for one to be born black - heretic, even - that instead of coming out with it and redeeming the welfare checks so readily available to people of our race, your privilege-grabbing ass chose to conceal it by pretending to be Asian. Well, I never! Do you realize, Eo, that there are those of us who'd trade lives with you in a heartbeat? (Though heartbeats have been few and far between, ever since I got that pacemaker installed)
I have done some research and it seems that Eo Ut Mortus isn't the first person to come out of the black closet. What the fuck? Does Smogon support race shaming to the extent that it forces its members to forge identities? Well, I never. Not only have I come across some highly racist comments on this forum - including a few with the 'n' word used in a derogatory context by a non-black individual - I have also found conclusive proof that the opportunities available for black people on this forum are significantly lower than those available to caucasians. Simply put, Smogon prefers whites to blacks, both for its team of staff and for the faces it chooses to represent its community.
Just look at the various smiley faces available to be posted, and their relative positioning:-
There are five yellow faces clumped together (suggesting that Smogon includes and supports Asians - the fact that they are clumped together implies that Asians tend to form their own social group, which is accurate)
There are an unfairly large amount of white faces - 10, to be exact, compared to the two minority faces, of which one is indian and one is black. However, the indian face is sandwiched between to white faces (as :justin::cloud::avatar2:) which suggests that Indians are included and integrated into the mainstream Smogon community. However, the one black face that Smogon so graciously included into its smiley selection is pushed to the far right, implying SEGREGATION!!!!
