:Chinchou:

[OVERVIEW]
Chinchou is a unique Choice Scarf user in LC, as it is the most viable user of Volt Switch, which is extremely useful for gaining momentum, and is able to offensively threaten Ground-types that may look to switch into Volt Switch with Hydro Pump. Its great typing allows it to be a Flying-resistant Water-type that is only weak to Grass- and Ground-type attacks. With Choice Scarf, Chinchou is able to outspeed and check a multitude of Pokemon such as Vullaby, Wingull, Corphish, Mudbray, and Onix. However, the prevalence of both Diglett and Trapinch means that a misprediction can cause Chinchou to get trapped and revenge killed by them. As a result, Chinchou is not able to pivot as comfortably as U-turn users such as Vullaby and Wingull. Its lack of reliable recovery causes it to get worn down quickly, and it can often struggle to consistently check Fire- and Flying-types. Chinchou is also not particularly strong, and bulkier Pokemon such as Mareanie are able to recover off Volt Switch damage with Recover.

Moves
========
Volt Switch is primarily used for pivoting out to keep up momentum, conveniently allowing Chinchou to avoid staying in while revenge killing. Hydro Pump is a strong STAB Water-type move that can threaten Ground-types that look to block Volt Switch. It is able to secure the OHKO on Eviolite Trapinch, alongside 2HKOing Eviolite Timburr and Eviolite Pawniard. Thunderbolt is a stronger STAB Electric-type attack that can be freely used late-game or when Pokemon that resist or are immune to the move such as Ferroseed, Diglett, and Trapinch have been removed. Ice Beam is a coverage move mainly used so that Oddish cannot comfortably switch in freely in fear of getting 2HKOed.

Set Details
========
Maximum Speed and Special Attack investment alongside a Timid nature ensures Chinchou hits as hard as possible and allows Chinchou to reach a fairly high 17 Speed benchmark, outpacing other Choice Scarf users such as Galarian Farfetch'd and Vullaby as well as Speed tying with boosted Dragon Dance Onix. Volt Absorb allows Chinchou to safely switch into Electric-type attacks from Pokemon such as opposing Chinchou.

Usage Tips
========
Chinchou should be used early- to mid-game, utilizing Choice Scarf to revenge kill slower threats. Using Volt Switch, Chinchou can provide offensive momentum for the team, allowing you to freely bring in a suitable check versus the Pokemon in play. However, be wary of using Volt Switch early-game, as both Trapinch and Diglett can trap Chinchou upon correct prediction. Chinchou can also be used late-game to sweep with either Thunderbolt or Hydro Pump if its checks are weakened or removed. In spite of Chinchou being a supplementary Flying-type check to Pokemon such as Vullaby, as it can take massive damage from Knock Off.

Team Options
========
Trapinch is an amazing Pokemon to pair with Chinchou because it is able to trap Diglett, Onix, and opposing Trapinch and take them out with Earthquake, which allows Chinchou to use Volt Switch more freely. It is also able to remove other Pokemon such as Ferroseed and Munchlax with Superpower, which Chinchou appreciates greatly. Other Water-types such as Corphish, Wingull, and Shellder work together with Chinchou in order to break down shared checks and sweep late game. U-turn users such as Vullaby and Wingull can form a VoltTurn core with Chinchou to safely pivot and bring in teammates. Ferroseed can provide entry hazard support in both Stealth Rock and Spikes, which can wear down Chinchou's checks as it constantly uses Volt Switch. Vullaby, Galarian Farfetch'd, and Corphish are Knock Off users that are useful for removing Eviolite from bulkier Pokemon such as Spritzee, which would otherwise avoid the 2HKO from Chinchou's Hydro Pump. Galarian Ponyta and Wingull both appreciate the free switch in from Volt Switch against Pokemon such as Ferroseed and Oddish.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Scald can be used as a reliable, accurate Water-type STAB move that can inflict burns on potential switch-ins; however, the added power Hydro Pump provides is far more beneficial to pick up KOs on Pokemon such as Mudbray. Discharge can also be opted for over Thunderbolt to potentially spread paralysis, but you miss out on OHKOing Corphish and Vullaby. Dazzling Gleam can be used to OHKO +1 Scraggy if the team is particularly weak to it. However, Chinchou would lose out on the key coverage Ice Beam provides, and in turn, Oddish would be a free switch-in. Berry Juice and Eviolite sets can be opted over Choice Scarf. Although, Chinchou's far better suited as a Choice Scarf user.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Ferroseed**: Ferroseed is a hard counter to Chinchou, as it takes little to no damage from any of Chinchou's moves and, in return, is able to set up Stealth Rock or remove an item relatively freely as it threatens it out with Bullet Seed or Giga Drain.

**Electric-immune Pokemon**: Electric-immune Pokemon make it risky for Chinchou to use Volt Switch freely. Diglett and Trapinch can trap Chinchou on a predicted Volt Switch and KO it, although they must fear Hydro Pump. Mudbray, Drilbur, and Onix can take advantage of Chinchou when it's locked into an Electric-type move and are able to go for Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin, or Dragon Dance, respectively. Opposing Chinchou are also able to switch in fairly freely and take little to no damage.

**Water-resistant Pokemon**: Oddish can take Chinchou's Hydro Pumps easily and also resists its Electric-type moves, but it gets 2HKOed by Ice Beam. Croagunk, in particular, is problematic because it's Water-immune and can take advantage of Chinchou locked into a Water-type move, which grants it a free setup opportunity.

**Bulky Pokemon**: Bulky Pokemon such as Munchlax and Spritzee can easily switch into Chinchou, taking very little damage and forcing it out.

yuck.

*Chinchou is a unique Choice Scarf user in the Little Cup metagame, in that it is able to use its dual Water / Electric typing to offensively threaten Ground-types that may look to switch in to Volt Switch.
Probably not the best perk it has. As right now it's probably the most viable user of Volt Switch, while also being able to threaten the chance of a ground type that switches in.
*It's great typing allows it to role only be weak to Ground and Grass. Chinchou can role compress the role of being a both a bulky Water-type, and a key Flying resist in one.
Barely, be sure to specify that it's a supplementary Flying check.
*Volt Absorb is the ability of choice as Illuminate has no competitive use and it allows Chinchou to safely switch into to opposing Chinchou, alongside Thunderbolt from Drifloon.
Don't bother mentioning illuminate, just talk about why Volt Absorb is usable.
*Using Volt Switch, Chinchou can provide offensive momentum for the team to safely get in teammates.
Slower Chinchou does this, faster Chinchou allows you to switch to a suitable check for the Pokemon currently in.
with either Thunderbolt, Hydro Pump or Discharg
Discharge isn't slashed, don't mention it here.
*Trapinch
Condense the Trapinch bullets, we can talk about other mons instead of raving over how good trapinch is for half a paragraph.
*Ferroseed can provide entry-hazard support in both Stealth Rock and Spikes which can wear down Chichou's checks.
Love the mention of hazards, be sure to specify why these are good in conjunction with Chinchou. Fix your spelling too.
*Discharge can also be opted over Thunderbolt to spread paralysis.
Potentially spread paralysis.
*Dazzling Gleam can be used to outspeed +1 Scraggy and OHKO it if the team is particularly weak to it.
Be sure to stress why this isn't a great option.
pass off a Thunder Wave
nope. no one twaves the chinchou. and some idiot 3 years down the line will try to correct this thinking they're some genius.

Excellent work!

Overview
I feel like the overview really doesn't reflect Chinchou's viability very well. I'd like to see the last bullet rephrased to talk about how the omnipresence of Trapinch and Diglett mean that it isn't able to comfortably pivot around as well as other U-Turn users such as Vullaby and Rufflet. Its lack of recovery also means it's easily worn down and can struggle to effectively act as a bird check/bulky water. I personally think the mon gets too much hate, but the overview definitely needs to state its shortcomings a little better.

I'd remove the first bullet as in it's current state it's basically filler. I'd rephrase the second bullet to say "Maximum Speed and Special Attack investment allow..."

Usage Tips

I'd like to see a brief mention of the dangers of clicking Volt Switch earlier in the game as clicking Volt Switch while Trapinch and Diglett are on the field.

Team Options
As coconut mentioned, 3 sentences on Trapinch for team options is a little excessive. I'd like to see mentions of maybe some wallbreakers/sweepers that appreciate the easier switch-in with Volt Switch.

Mention KOs that you're missing out on by using Scald over Hydro Pump - otherwise everyone would want to use a more accurate move with burn chances. I don't think I've ever seen Discharge Chinchou but if it's gonna be there I guess list some KOs you miss out on.

Overview
It's great typing allows it to role only be weak to Ground and Grass. Chinchou can role compress the role of being a both a bulky Water-type, and a supplementary Flying resist option in one.

i think its a stretch to call scarf chinchou bulky. you could just merge these sentences by saying something like "its great typing allows it to act as a flying-resistant water type that's weak to only grass and ground"

Chinchou is able to outspeed and check a multitude Pokemon such as Vullaby, Wingull, Drifloon, Corphish, Diglett, and Onix with Choice Scarf.
replace diglett with mudbray because checking mudbray is more useful, theres already a lot of things that check diglett

Chinchou is also able to threaten and gain momentum on common defensive cores such as Mareanie, Mudbray, and Ferroseed.
remove this because chinchou doesnt do especially well vs this core imo, ferro can hold up pretty well vs chou and chou is scared to click volt switch with the presence of mudbray. also mareanie can often just recover on volt. chinchou does have utility vs mareanie though so you can add it to the list in the previous sentence if you want, but the list's getting kinda long

add a sentence to the end of the overview about how chinchou isnt particularly strong

Team Options
Trapinch is an amazing Pokemon to pair with Chinchou as it is able to trap Diglett and opposing Trapinch with Earthquake which allows Chinchou to use Volt Switch more freely
it traps onix too

mention that pokemon that appreciate free switches, especially against pokemon that are likely to switch into chou's volt like ferro and oddish, make good teammates e.g. ponyta and wingull

Checks and Counters
as it threatens it out with Bullet Seed.
or giga drain

**Arena Trap Pokemon**: Both Diglett and Trapinch can revenge kill Chinchou when it is locked into an Electric-type attack. Diglett is also able to setup a Substitute on top of that putting the opponent in a very compromising position.

**Electric-Immune Pokemon**: Electric immune Pokemon such as opposing Chinchou can freely switch into Chinchou and resists all its other moves. Mudbray, Drilbur, and Onix can take advantage of Chinchou when locked into an Electric-type move and are able to go for Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin, or Dragon Dance respectively.
-remove the arena trap section, and mention dig and pinch in the electric immune section instead
-start the section by saying the presence of an electric immunity alone makes it risky for chinchou to click volt switch
-emphasise that diglett and trapinch in particular can trap chinchou. also i dont think the focus should be on diglett and trapinch being able to revenge kill chou because thats only when chou kills something with thunderbolt (most of the time it will be clicking volt switch)
-although these ground-types are threatening, they do fear hydro pump
-opposing chinchou should be the last thing mentioned in this paragraph because its not very common

**Water-Immune Pokemon**: Water-immune Pokemon such as Croagunk and Helioptile can take advantage of Chinchou locked into a Water-type move, and grant them either a setup opportunity or momentum.
-change this to water resistant pokemon and mention oddish, which also resists electric, although it's 2hkoed by ice beam. then just say croagunk in particular is immune
-imo helioptile isn't viable and shouldn't be mentioned

3/3, nice work

Thunderbolt is a stronger STAB Electric-type attack that can be freely used late-game or when Pokemon that resist or are immune to the move such as Ferroseed, Diglett, and Trapinch have been removed. Ice Beam is a coverage move mainly used so that Oddish cannot comfortably switch in freely in fear of getting 2HKOed.

Maximum Speed and Special Attack investment alongside a Timid nature ensures Chinchou hits as hard as possible and allows Chinchou to reaches a fairly high 17 Speed benchmark, outpacing other Choice Scarf users such as Galarian Farfetch'd, Vullaby, and Rufflet, as well as Speed tying with Onix after a boosted Dragon Dance Onix. Volt Absorb is the ability of choice, as it allows Chinchou to safely switch into Electric-type attacks from Pokemon such as opposing Chinchou.

Usage Tips
========
In spite of Chinchou being a supplementary Flying-type check to Pokemon such as Vullaby and Rufflet, Chinchou it can take massive damage from Knock Off and Close Combat.

Team Options
========
Trapinch is an amazing Pokemon to pair with Chinchou because it is able to trap Diglett, Onix, and opposing Trapinch and take them out with Earthquake, which allows Chinchou to use Volt Switch more freely. It is also able to trap remove other Pokemon such as Ferroseed and Munchlax with Superpower, which Chinchou appreciates greatly. Other Water-types such as Corphish, Wingull, and Shellder work together with Chinchou in order to break down shared checks and sweep late game. U-turn users such as Vullaby, Cutiefly, and Rufflet can form a VoltTurn core with Chinchou to safely pivot and bring in teammates.

Other Options
=============
Scald can be used as a reliable, accurate Water-type STAB move that can inflict burns on potential switch-ins; however, the added power Hydro Pump provides is far more beneficial to pick up KOs on Pokemon such as Mudbray. Discharge can also be opted for over Thunderbolt to potentially spread paralysis, but (RC) you miss out on OHKOing Corphish and Vullaby.

===================

Diglett and Trapinch can trap Chinchou on a predicted Volt Switch and KO it, although (RC) they must fear Hydro Pump.
