Moves
========

Earthquake is Diglett's most powerful STAB attack, letting it trap Pokemon weak to Ground-type moves such as Ponyta and Onix. Diglett can also efficiently trap weakened Pokemon with sufficient chip damage. Rock Slide is Diglett's best coverage move, letting it hit Flying-types such as Vullaby and Doduo for super effective damage. Final Gambit can be used to remove Pokemon that have been weakened throughout the match but can not be KOed with either Earthquake or Rock Slide, usually bulkier Pokemon such as Foongus or Spritzee. However, since Diglett has a terrible HP stat, some Pokemon may have to be severely weakened for this to be effective and Diglett must keep its HP high in order to have Final Gambit remain effective. Memento can be used over Final Gambit on teams that rely on setup Pokemon such as Shellder, Omanyte, Vullaby, and Zigzagoon. Diglett makes particularly good use of Memento since its target cannot switch out and make the stat drops less useful. Beat Up helps Diglett trap and KO full HP Focus Sash Abra as long as Diglett has at least four alive and unstatused teammates. Pursuit is another option to trap Pokemon such as Gastly and Doduo that are not trapped by Arena Trap and attempt to switch out.

Set Details
========

Since this Diglett set is used as a revenge killer, most of its EVs are invested into Attack and Speed so it can reliably trap and revenge kill as many Pokemon as possible. The remaining EVs are put into HP so that Diglett has a slightly stronger Final Gambit. A Jolly nature and Choice Scarf allow Diglett to outspeed every viable Choice Scarf user in the tier and also outpace many Pokemon at +2, including Shell Smashers such as Shellder and Omanyte, as well as Ponyta and Vullaby after they obtain a Speed boost from Flame Charge and Weak Armor. Be wary of priority moves like Shellder's Ice Shard as it will OHKO Diglett. Arena Trap is Diglett's best ability, allowing it to to trap grounded Pokemon and remove threats to its team.

Usage Tips
========
Diglett should almost never be switched into an attack unless it is either heavily resisted or immune. This is because Diglett's terrible bulk causes it to lose a lot of its health even from weak attacks. Try to use it as much as possible by making use of slower pivots that are able to soak up damage before bringing in Diglett safely. If the team does not have the option of pivots to bring Diglett in then make sure to use it solely as a revenge killer once a Pokemon has fainted. Try to avoid situations where Diglett can be revenge killed by trappers such as Focus Sash Diglett or Pursuit trappers such as Alolan Grimer and Pawniard as they are able to take advantage of Diglett being locked into Rock Slide, Beat Up, or Pursuit. As Choice Scarf Diglett is rather uncommon in the tier at the moment, players may opt to not scout for it and send in Choice Scarf Pokemon that are slower and lose when facing Diglett one on one. As it is quite hard to scout Choice Scarf Diglett due to its already great Speed stat, try to take advantage of this when playing against Pokemon that have the ability to set up. Diglett is able to outspeed Pokemon such as Shellder, Omanyte, Vullaby, and Ponyta after their Speed boosts and can deal with them after. However, Diglett is very weak and is unable to 2HKO Pokemon such as Vullaby and Shellder so play smartly to try and get chip damage before they set up. Try to lure out Pokemon such as Abra and Gastly early on with Diglett, as Beat Up relies on multiple Pokemon being alive and healthy in the party. However, Memento is more beneficial to use later on in the game in order to weaken the opposing Pokemon's stats so that a setup sweeper can clean late-game. Using Memento too early can result in a wasted set up opportunity, so make sure that the sweeper you are using is able to break through the remainder of the team before using Memento. When using Final Gambit, make sure that Diglett is no longer crucial in the match. Removing a bulky Pokemon such as Foongus or Spritzee early on in the game may seem appealing, however, if a Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Pawniard or Magnemite are still around it may be more beneficial to trap them first before using Final Gambit. Be weary of Pokemon that can easily boost on Diglett such as Timburr and Snivy as they are able to use Diglett as setup fodder regardless of which move it is locked into. Also make sure to play cautiously around the likes of Tirtouga, Shellder, and Pawniard if you are trying to trap them as they can often run priority moves and easily take Diglett out.

Team Options
========
Thanks to its Choice Scarf, Diglett is able to fill many holes in a team. It is able to outspeed every Pokemon in the tier including every viable Choice Scarf user. As it can reliably revenge kill Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Magnemite and Pawniard it opens doors for sweepers such as Abra and Gastly to sweep without being revenge killed as easily. This also benefits defensive Pokemon such as Sprtizee and Ferroseed that are passive enough to give free switch-ins to both Pawniard and Magnemite. Choice Scarf Diglett also has the ability to trap opposing Life Orb or Groundium Z Diglett from the field. This is amazing for Pokemon such as Ponyta, Mareanie, and Alolan Grimer as they are less threatened to stay in. Diglett can also outspeed and revenge kill opposing setup sweepers such as Shellder and Omanyte which works really well with more offensive Pokemon that can be taken advantage of by these setup Pokemon, such as Amaura or Doduo. As Diglett is unable to switch in on Pokemon, slow pivots such as Bulky Mienfoo and Vullaby are good partners for it as they can absorb hits and U-turn into Diglett safely, letting it trap Pokemon without having to take prior damage. Pokemon that benefit from Memento support are brilliant with Diglett, as it is able to pick and choose which Pokemon it wants to trap and Memento on. Zigzagoon and Shellder and some of the best recipients of this utility from Diglett as they are able to sweep teams from just one turn of setup. Knock Off users such as Pawniard and Timburr are good partners for Diglett as they can Knock Off Eviolites throughout a match-up making it easier for Diglett to trap them. Pokemon such as Foongus and Mienfoo are significantly harder to trap when they have their Eviolite. Pokemon that can handle Flying- and Ghost-type Pokemon are really handy as teammates for Diglett. Onix and Alolan Grimer are great choices as they can deal with Pokemon such as Vullaby and Gastly with ease. As Choice Scarf Diglett is so easy to setup on by bulkier Pokemon such as Snivy and Timburr, it is beneficial to pair it with a Pokemon that can reliably check them such as Foongus and Vullaby. These are great choices as they completely shut down the pair.

Moves:
- These need to be ordered the same as the set. (I think the current set order is fine)
- For Earthquake, right now it seems like Diglett's Earthquake just happens to hit a lot of its targets super effectively. I think this should be reworded to emphasize that in most cases, Diglett can only trap something because it's weak to Earthquake - it's very weak otherwise.
- For Final Gambit, mention that targets will usually have to be weakened before they are put in range due to Diglett's low HP stat.
- For Beat Up, mention that in most cases, Diglett will need another four teammates alive to KO standard Sash Abra.

Usage Tips:
"Diglett must never be switched in on a Pokemon unless it is either immune to it or resists the attack heavily as Diglett's terrible bulk does not allow it to switch in well to attacks."
- I wouldn't say "resists the attack heavily" - maybe something like "resists a weak attack or is immune to it"?
"As Diglett makes use of Choice Scarf but is fast enough to not be scouted easily. Take advantage of this when set up Pokemon try to use Diglett as set up fodder as Choice Scarf allows you to outspeed Pokemon such as Shellder, Tirtouga and Vullaby after boosts."
- I probably wouldn't mention Tirtouga here, as it often runs Aqua Jet - maybe mention Omanyte instead?
- Mention to be wary of a lot of Pokemon such as Snivy and Timburr using Diglett as setup bait or to heavily pressure the Diglett user due to Diglett being choice locked and quite weak.

Team Options:
- For the first point, mention some Pokemon Scarf Diglett traps that regular Diglett doesn't usually - Scarf Magnemite, Scarf Pawniard, opposing Diglett, +2 Omanyte, and slightly weakened +2 Shellder.
- Mention Pokemon that appreciate opposing LO/Tectonic Rage Diglett being trapped, allowing for the safe inclusion of more than one Diglett-weak Pokemon.
-Mention checks to Pokemon that come in on Diglett for free on the revenge-kill, such as Snivy and Timburr.

Very well done. 1/3

  • Beat Up helps Diglett beat Focus Sash Abra as well as Gastly, which are harder to reliably remove with Earthquake and Rock Slide. However, Diglett would need to have at least four other teammates alive in order to KO Focus Sash Abra efficiently.
they also need to be unstatused; beat up is such a rare move that it's probably important to spell out how it works to people. you don't need to describe the whole move, i think; just "alive and unstatused" or something similar would be enough.

  • Diglett's Jolly nature alongside a Choice Scarf lets it out speed every viable Choice Scarf user in the tier as well as natural outspeeding a lot of boosted Pokemon including Shell Smash Pokemon such as Shellder and Tirtouga. It can also outspeed Ponyta and Vullaby after a Flame Charge and Weak Armour boost.
not sure if this is the same mention that levi caught, but would recommend mentioning a different smash pokemon over tirtouga because it runs ajet. alternatively, mention tirtouga, but point out that it has access to aqua jet and that if possible you should use a different answer to it.

  • As Diglett makes use of Choice Scarf but is fast enough to not be scouted easily. Take advantage of this when set up Pokemon try to use Diglett as set up fodder as Choice Scarf allows you to outspeed Pokemon such as Shellder, Omanyte, and Vullaby after boosts. However, be aware of Pokemon such as Timburr and Snivy as they can easily use Diglett as setup fodder due to it being Choice locked and rather weak.
this is a little hard to understand. break it down into two points:

- diglett normally is set-up fodder for shell smash pokemon like shellder. this set outspeeds them after a boost, so pay attention to this.
- be wary of timburr and snivy ...

regarding the first point: it doesn't actually 2HKO shell after defense drop, nor bj np vullaby as long as it doesn't roll min on the first slide. so i guess the line here should just point out that people won't expect it to outspeed their shell smasher, so "play smartly with that knowledge in mind" or something similar.

  • Pokemon that appreciate the removal of Choice Scarf users. Pokemon such as Abra and Gastly appreciate this support as they are less reliably revenge killed.
personally i'd actually highlight these a little more; trapping magnemite and scarf pawn are huge for these, as well as opposing elekid, diglett, and abra (and grimer-a after chip damage). this set supports these two pokemon (i guess 18- and 19-speed attackers in general, wingull is another poke that does fantastic with scarf dig support) really well.

overall very nice work, you did a great job with team options section in particular

  • In Final Gambit points, mention that Diglett itself has to not be weakened for Final Gambit to be effective.
  • Beat Up is just for Abra pretty much, Gastly can and usually should switch out

Set Details
========
  • Specify that Ice Shard Shellder can still mess with you
  • Specify that Arena Trap only traps grounded Pokemon

Usage Tips
========
  • I think you can just change the first sentence to "Diglett should almost never be switched in..." if you are switching scarf dig into things something is going wrong for you
  • When talking about scouting Choice Scarf, mention that it is pretty uncommon so people might not even think to scout for it
  • I'd add a sentence about being wary of priority -- you are fast, but many setup sweepers (Tirt, Shellder) and other things you might want to trap (Pawniard) can run priority and you should scout for these moves when applicable.

Team Options

  • Good work
I'm giving this 3/3 based on content, but please do a self-GP check before passing this on to the GP team. There are sentences that took me several tries to figure out and lots of simple grammar errors and I think you can save yourself and the GPer a lot of time by reading through it first.

did a small amcheck (THIS IS NOT GP) of the first two sections because I'm lazy, there's definitely things to address in the later sections too. would recommend you take another look over this, there's some grammar errors you can fix to make it easier on GP (stuff like making sure your possessive nouns like "Pokemon's attack" have the apostrophe since that was missing a lot of the time, for example)

Earthquake is Digletts Diglett's most powerful STAB move and due to this it only efficiently traps Pokemon weak to Earthquake, such as Rock-, Poison-, Steel-, Fire- and Electric-types as it has a low Attack stat. (this is just poorly phrased overall and just doesn't flow right - some of this doesn't really seem to fit in the Moves section. Would recommend something along the lines of "Earthquake is Diglett's most powerful STAB attack, letting it trap Pokemon weak to Ground-type moves" and then maybe examples of relevant Pokemon it's trapping. The difficulty with trapping non-Ground weak Pokemon seems like it'd fit more in usage tips honestly.) It also can Diglett can also efficiently trap weaker weakened Pokemon with Earthquake assuming they have been chipped enough with sufficient chip damage. Rock Slide is Digletts Diglett's best coverage move,(AC) as it is able to hit Flying-types and Pokemon immune to Earthquake (this is either redundant or false, since there are no Pokemon in LC with Levitate who are weak to Rock) for super effective damage, this is great for getting rid of Pokemon such of as Vullaby and Wingull. (everything after the word "move" can be phrased better honestly - would recommend changing sentence to "Rock Slide is Diglett's best coverage move, letting it hit Flying-types such as Vullaby and Wingull for super effective damage) Final Gambit is can be used to remove Pokemon that have been weakened throughout the match but can not be KOed with either Earthquake or Rock Slide. This is more effective on bulkier Pokemon such as Foongus and Spritzee.(I'd suggest rephrasing this - it's somewhat confusing right now. Personal suggestion would be to combine with previous sentence and phrase as "usually bulkier Pokemon such as Foongus or Spritzee.") However, as since Diglett has a terrible HP stat, some Pokemon may have to be severely weakened for this to be effective. On top of this, and Diglett must have maximum HP keep its HP high in order to keep Final Gambit viable have Final Gambit remain effective. Memento can be used over Final Gambit as it benefits on teams that rely on setup Pokemon.(remove period) such as Shellder, Omanyte, Vullaby, and Zigzagoon all appreciate Diglett's use of Memento later into a match up. This is especially effective on Diglett as it is able to pick which Pokemon it wants to trap and use as set up fodder.(This is confusing - the way it's currently written makes it sound like Diglett itself is using a Pokemon as set up fodder. Suggest changing to "Diglett makes particularly good use of Memento since its target cannot switch out and make the stat drops less useful.") Beat Up helps Diglett break through trap and KO(break through is more about defensive Pokemon) full HP Focus Sash Abra, which is a lot harder to do with Earthquake and Rock Slide. However, Diglett would need to have as long as Diglett has at least four other alive and unstatused teammates alive and without status in order to OHKO Abra reliably(the part about OHKOing reliably could be included, but feels redundant with the new structure of the sentence). Pursuit is another option to use over Beat Up as it is able to trap Pokemon such as Gastly and Wingull that are not trapped by Arena Trap and attempt to switch out.

Arena Trap is essential when using Diglett as its only niche is Diglett's best ability, allowing it to to trap grounded Pokemon and remove threats to the its team.

Hi DBW

The situation here is kind of awkward with the two amchecks. This is hard for a GPer (well, me at least) to go over, and I don't want the amchecks to go to waste. I've looked through both of them and I suggest that you implement both amchecks fully so GP can have an easier time and that the above checks don't go to waste. I'll come along and do 1/2 after you implement them.

Well, it looks like this is dead. If anyone wants to take this over, here's the analysis with both amchecks implemented:

Hi Fireflame479

I've implemented the amchecks on DBW's behalf. I'll just implement subsequent checks since he has quit. If you would still be willing to GP check this, I would appreciate it!
