Moves

Waterfall is the most reliable Water-type STAB move Kabutops gets, hitting most targets that dont resist it hard, as well as having a decent flinch chance. Stone Edge is Kabutops's most powerful STAB move, hitting most Pokemon that resist Waterfall extremely hard, such as Lilligant, Samurott, Jynx, Lanturn, Mantine, Pelipper, and Ludicolo. Rapid Spin allows Kabutops to get off an emergency spin at the cost of potentially sacrificing itself. Superpower rounds out Kabutops's coverage, hitting Pokemon that take little from its STAB moves such as Ferroseed and Cradily super effectively while also hitting Poliwrath neutrally. Alternatively, Knock Off is an option to hit Gourgeist-XL as well as remove items from walls that commonly switch into it, such as Quagsire and Ferroseed.

Set Details
========

A Choice Scarf allows Kabutops to outspeed Pokemon it would normally get forced out by, such as Lilligant, Jynx, Rotom, and Zangoose. An Adamant nature gives Kabutops more power while still enabling it to outspeed the entire unboosted tier. A Jolly nature lets Kabutops outspeed +2 Jolly Rhydon, Modest Omastar, and Adamant Golurk, as well as +1 Modest Lilligant; however, it generally isn't worth the noticeable drop in power. Lastly, with Swift Swim Kabutops outspeeds all rain sweepers, including Ludicolo, Floatzel, and opposing Jolly Kabutops, and is able to OHKO them with the appropriate coverage move.

Usage Tips
========

Due to its high Speed with a Choice Scarf, great coverage, and STAB combination that allows it to hit a majority of the tier for at least neutral damage, Kabutops's main role is that of a revenge killer. Kabutops's solid defensive typing allows it to pivot into predicted Fire-, Rock-, and Normal-type attacks when necessary. Sometimes getting off an emergency Rapid Spin can be crucial and can relieve the pressure of entry hazards from Kabutops's teammates. Unfortunately, being locked into Rapid Spin comes with the risk of becoming setup fodder once the opponent realizes Kabutops is holding a Choice Scarf, so it should be used with caution.

Team Options
========

Strong special attackers such as Magmortar, Charizard, and Pyroar can pressure physical walls such as Ferroseed, Mega Audino, Gourgeist-XL, and Quagsire, clearing the way for Kabutops to clean up late-game. In return, they appreciate Kabutops's ability to spin away hazards and take out Rock-, Fire-, and Ground-types for them. Slower wallbreakers such as Pinsir, Haunter, and Magmortar particularly appreciate Choice Scarf Kabutops's Speed and utility in beating faster Pokemon such as Swellow, Archeops, and Tauros. Setup sweepers such as Cacturne, Vivillon, Lilligant, and Rhydon value Choice Scarf Kabutops's ability to clean up late-game after they go down. In particular, Cacturne makes for a decent partner, setting up Spikes to further weaken Kabutops's checks. Toxic Spikes support from Garbodor or Weezing is amazing as well because most of Kabutops's best checks, such as Quagsire and Poliwrath, are crippled by the entry hazard. Bulky Psychic-types such as Mesprit, Musharna, and Xatu are great partners, combatting any Fighting- and Poison-types for Kabutops. Xatu especially makes for a great partner, forming a consistent anti-hazard core.

i don't know if you've went over this with the QC team but i'd personally say slash Superpower before Aqua Jet. Superpower hits a lot of things reliably and being locked into scarfed Aqua Jet seems really awkward and not useful that often to me, because the all of the mons you listed are almost never seen with a scarf anyways.

one more nitpick: Superpower rounds out Kabutops's coverage, hitting Pokemon that take little from its STAB moves, such as Ferroseed, Poliwrath, and Cradily super effectively.
just some small things i noticed it looks good otherwise :) (not a QC check just minor things i noticed)

deslash Aqua Jet, the extra Speed + lack of power makes it unnecessary most of the time

  • Stone Edge is Kabutops's most powerful STAB move, hitting most Pokemon that resist Waterfall extremely hard. give examples
  • Rapid Spin allows Kabutops to get off an emergency spin against faster targets, which can be crucial. "faster targets" is poor wording, ik what you mean here but it makes it sound like you spin against pkmn that outspeed Scarf Tops itself. Just say it can get emergency spins off if you really need hazards off the field and don't mind sacrificing Tops
  • Superpower rounds out Kabutops's coverage, hitting Pokemon that take little from its STAB moves, such as Ferroseed and Cradily super effectively, while also hitting Poliwrath neutrally.
  • Aqua Jet allows Kabutops to get a hit against faster opposing Choice Scarfed Pokemon such as; Pyroar, Scyther, Tauros, and Rotom-S.
  • Knock Off is an alternate option, allowing Kabutops to hit Gourgeist-S as well as remove items from walls that commonly switch into it, such as Quagsire and Ferroseed.

  • Pokemon that appreciate hazard removal, such as Scyther, Charizard, and Pyroar make good partners for Kabutops. The former two providing a switch into Fighting, and Grass-type attacks, and the latter eliminating Grass, and Steel-types for Kabutops. 4x SR weak mons are not good partners for this set, yes Tops has Rapid Spin but it's still not nearly reliable enough at spinning to provide the consistent support that they need.
Also mention partners that prefer Scarf Tops over other sets, i.e. teams that need additional checks to stuff like Tauros and Swellow and the like. This is a somewhat niche set so be more specific with partners.
Comments in bold, QC 1/3 after that

Just forego the mention of Aqua Jet all together, it's a horrible move to lock yourself into and 3 of the 4 targets listed need to be heavily chipped before Kabutops can knock them out, not to mention Scarf Tauros isn't really relevant or common enough.

Mention in usage tips that using Rapid Spin comes at a risk of being set up fodder once the opponent knows Kabutops is Scarfed, so generally it should be used with caution.

In team options, mention that Magmortar and Pyroar appreciate Rapid Spin support. Mesprit is also a good partner I feel because it switches in on Fighting- and Poison-types relatively well and threaten them with Psychic STAB. Xatu is also worth a mention to provide a more consistent anti-hazard core. Also mention that Cacturne can lay Spikes down, which helps Kabutops clean late-game.

jw what reason is there to run this set? you aren't fast enough to outrun +1 vivillon, which feels like the reason you'd want to run this thing. you already have priority, and there are far better scarfers that dont just shit on your own momentum in the same way this set does. like "Unfortunately, being locked into rapid spin comes with the risk of becoming set-up fodder once the opponent realises you are scarfed, thus it should be used with caution." applies to every move on this set barring Maybe stone edge. it's not even a good lure because stuff like zard and pyroar are going to be afraid of ajet as it is.

Mention that a Jolly nature lets you outspeed +2 Jolly Rhydon and +1 Modest Lilligant, and that specifically is not worth giving up 10% attacking power for. If you want to outspeed Jolly Don and don't have another Rhydon check, just use a normal LO set with Aqua Jet imo. Elaborate on how Swift Swim gives Scarf Kabutops a good matchup vs Rain, mainly that it outspeeds all sweepers, even Jolly Kabutops, and has tools to KO them all.
